Chapter 46: Chapter 46: The Scented Sachet Mix-up
Xiao Yufei took a deep breath, then spun around and grabbed a pair of scissors from the table. She glared at Ye Feng and spat through gritted teeth, "You bastard! I’ll kill you if you dare touch me."
But in the next moment, her anger completely vanished.
She saw that Ye Feng’s eyes were still closed, and he was snoring up a storm.
Xiao Yufei finally understood. The man was sound asleep, simply hugging her as if she were a blanket.
A sudden sense of defeat washed over Xiao Yufei.
’Am I really that unattractive?’
Xiao Yufei went and lay back down on the bed, but she couldn’t fall asleep. Her thoughts drifted back to the one she loved, and she instinctively reached for her sachet on the table, only to find it wasn’t there.
Confused, she sat up, only to see a familiar-looking sachet lying next to Ye Feng’s pile of belongings!
Xiao Yufei shook her head with a wry smile. ’I’m so scatterbrained.’
She picked up the sachet and stroked it gently, her mind once again filling with the image of the boy from ten years ago. Her heart ached painfully. "When are you coming back? I miss you so much!"
As she spoke, two streams of tears streamed down her lovely cheeks.
It wasn’t until the latter half of the night that Xiao Yufei carefully placed the sachet in a drawer. ’This is my most precious possession,’ she thought. ’If that little punk Ye Feng casually threw it away, I wouldn’t even know where to begin crying.’
Xiao Yufei lay there, her heart pounding with anxiety. She was terrified that Ye Feng might suddenly be overcome with lust and do something beastly to her. In the end, however, exhaustion won, and she couldn’t help but drift into a deep sleep.
He didn’t know how long he’d been asleep when he felt a weight like a great mountain pressing down on him. He opened his eyes in confusion. The scene before him made his eyes fly wide open.
At some point, Xiao Yufei had moved over to his side. Her arms were wrapped around him as tightly as an octopus’s tentacles, and one of her legs was thrown directly across his waist.
Her lovely face was pressed against his, and her warm, fragrant breath tickled his ear.
Seeing Xiao Yufei’s face up close, he realized it was nothing short of a masterpiece.
Her long eyelashes trembled slightly, as if betraying some inner turmoil. Her pert little nose was as exquisitely carved as ivory.
Her rosy lips were slightly parted, as if inviting Ye Feng to explore the secrets within!
The skin on her face was supple and smooth, so delicate it looked like it might break at the slightest touch.
Her nightgown had been pushed aside in her sleep, giving Ye Feng an ample view of the tempting scenery underneath.
With Xiao Yufei clinging to him so tightly, the thin fabric of her nightgown was practically useless. Ye Feng could feel not only her warmth, but also the smoothness of her skin.
Faced with this deadly temptation, the virile, hot-blooded Ye Feng felt like he was about to explode.
’Trying to tempt this old soldier, are you? Then don’t blame me for what happens next.’
He was about to raise his hands and launch a fierce "assault" on Xiao Yufei, but just then, he suddenly thought of the little girl he missed so deeply.
Ye Feng stopped. ’No,’ he murmured to himself. ’I have to save my most precious gift for the person I love the most.’
Ye Feng gently moved the soundly sleeping Xiao Yufei away. She was so exhausted that she didn’t even stir!
Ye Feng slowly sat up, intending to retrieve his sachet. But in the next second, his eyes bulged wide.
To his horror, he discovered that his sachet—the one more important to him than life itself—was gone.
Ye Feng panicked and scrambled out of bed, searching everywhere. But he couldn’t find it. A wave of anxiety washed over him. He strode over to Xiao Yufei, shook her forcefully, and yelled angrily:
"Xiao Yufei, wake up!"
She had been dreaming that Ye Feng was trying to assault her. She fought back with all her might, but her strength was no match for his. Just as he was about to have his way with her, a feeling of pure desperation washed over her—and then she was shaken awake. Still groggy, Xiao Yufei instinctively shot her hand out and jabbed at Ye Feng’s eyes. If he hadn’t dodged in time, he would have become a one-eyed dragon.
"You son of a bitch, don’t touch me! Don’t touch me!" Xiao Yufei pulled the blanket over herself, covering her body as she stared at Ye Feng, her voice trembling.
Ye Feng was frantic as well. He roared in anger, "Xiao Yufei, I told you, I’m not interested in you! Cut the act! I’m asking you, where is my sachet? Did you throw it out like trash? Where did you throw it? Tell me!"
"Are you nuts? Why would I touch your stuff?" Xiao Yufei yelled, still half-asleep.
"You must have moved it! It’s just the two of us in this room, and my sachet was right on the table. If you didn’t move it, who did? Give it back to me, now! Or else don’t blame me for getting rough." Ye Feng roared, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at her.
Xiao Yufei had never seen Ye Feng like this, and it scared her. She quickly got up to help him look, but of course, it wasn’t on the table.
Then she remembered the sachet she’d put away. She hurried to the drawer, pulled it out, and held it toward Ye Feng. "Is this it?"
She took another look as she spoke.
The lights weren’t on, but the moonlight outside was bright enough for her to see that the sachet was very ugly—just as ugly as the one she had sewn herself.
She felt a strange sense of familiarity and was about to examine it more closely, but Ye Feng snatched it from her. He cupped it in his hands for a moment before letting out a long sigh of relief. After carefully putting it away, he glared at Xiao Yufei and barked, "Don’t you ever touch my things again, or you’ll be sorry!"
Xiao Yufei pursed her lips. "Touch your stuff? As if I’d want to."
Watching Ye Feng clutch the sachet as he comfortably lay back down, a question suddenly popped into Xiao Yufei’s mind: Where was her sachet?
Panic seized Xiao Yufei. She shot up and began searching frantically, but her sachet was nowhere to be found.
’Could Lan Yazhi have washed it with the laundry?’
Without bothering to put on shoes, Xiao Yufei ran out barefoot. She hurried to Lan Yazhi’s room, threw open the door without knocking, and cried out, "Mom, did you wash my sachet?"
But the next moment, she froze. She could clearly see her mother, Lan Yazhi, and her father, Xiao Gang, locked in a tight embrace, completely naked.
Xiao Yufei shrieked and scrambled back out, her face instantly turning beet red.
Inside the room, Lan Yazhi hissed through gritted teeth, "You idiot! Why didn’t you lock the door?"
Xiao Gang replied helplessly, "How was I supposed to know she’d still be awake and run into our room this late at night?"
Xiao Yufei had no time for their bickering. She yelled urgently, "Mom, did you wash my sachet?"
Lan Yazhi, mortified, yelled back impatiently, "Your things are in the bathroom! And next time, remember to knock before you enter someone’s room!"
Xiao Yufei raced to the bathroom. When she saw the sachet on top of the washing machine, she snatched it up and pressed it tightly to her chest, murmuring, "This is our keepsake. How could I ever lose you?"
Finally at ease, Xiao Yufei got dressed. Not wanting to go back to her room, she went to the garden by herself.
But before she could even sit down, she heard footsteps behind her. Xiao Yufei turned around, puzzled, and nearly screamed in terror. A dark figure was standing ramrod straight right behind her.
