Ultimate Master in the City
Chapter 58: The Living Dead
Chapter 58: Chapter 58: The Living Dead
The slaughterhouse in the southern suburbs was located on the desolate, weed-choked city outskirts, a place rarely visited.
Inside the slaughterhouse, a bald man in greasy clothes was walking toward a butchering block, a large, fat pig held fast in his one-handed grip.
The man was incredibly thin, looking as if he hadn’t the strength to truss a chicken. Yet the two-hundred-pound pig was completely unable to break free from his grasp!
The bald man slammed the large pig onto the butchering block. With a sharp knife in his right hand, he plunged it directly into the pig’s chest, sending blood spurting everywhere.
Hanging from a nearby rafter, Wang Luyao witnessed the bloody scene, so terrified she felt her bones might dissolve. She stared at the bald man and shrieked, "We’re strangers! We have no quarrel! Why did you tie me up here? Let me down! Let me down!"
The bald man was none other than the Blood-handed Butcher, ranked fourth among Jiangcheng’s masters.
He checked his watch and muttered, "Only two minutes left. Looks like no one’s coming to save you. In that case, allow me to send you on your way!"
With that, he picked up the blood-drenched boning knife and swaggered toward Wang Luyao.
Seeing the Blood-handed Butcher, his face splattered with blood like some demon crawled out of hell, Wang Luyao couldn’t help but scream in terror.
"Please, don’t kill me! I’ll give you money—anything you want! Please, just spare me!"
But the Blood-handed Butcher seemed not to hear her, continuing his steady approach.
Terrified, Wang Luyao let out a desperate cry, "Somebody! Help me!"
The Blood-handed Butcher let out a sinister chuckle. "Go ahead and scream. Scream until your throat is raw, no one will come for you. You’d be better off just behaving and letting me cut you up, piece by piece!"
He was now standing before Wang Luyao. He raised the boning knife and plunged it mercilessly toward her heart.
Wang Luyao squeezed her eyes shut, utterly helpless.
’I know I’m not getting out of this alive today.’
But just as she sank into utter despair, she heard a dull THUD, followed by a deafening CRASH. The slaughterhouse’s heavy main doors were smashed open. A Range Rover roared in and screeched to a halt.
A man got out of the car, looked at the butcher, and said coolly, "Scream your lungs out and no one will come? I don’t think so."
Hearing that incredibly familiar voice, Wang Luyao’s eyes flew open. When she saw who it was, she felt like a drowning woman who had just been thrown a lifeline. She couldn’t help but cry out:
"Ye Feng, save me!"
The newcomer was indeed Ye Feng, accompanied by Cui Biao and his men.
But in the next moment, her expression changed. She shook her head frantically and shouted, "Ye Feng, don’t worry about me! You have to get out of here! This man is incredibly dangerous! If you don’t leave now, you’ll die here too!"
Ye Feng looked at Wang Luyao, a hint of gentleness flashing in his eyes. He met her gaze and said calmly, "Don’t worry. No one can touch me. And today, no one will be able to touch you either."
With that, he strode over to Wang Luyao and untied the ropes binding her.
Finally free, Wang Luyao let out a cry and threw herself into Ye Feng’s arms, her entire body a trembling wreck.
Ye Feng patted her back and said softly, "It’s okay. I’m here now."
He had barely finished speaking when the Blood-handed Butcher let out a sinister laugh. "You’re here? Heh. And who the hell do you think you are? She’s not leaving today, and neither are you. That’s final."
Just then, Cui Biao stepped forward. He looked at the Blood-handed Butcher and, forcing a smile, said, "Brother, there’s no need for this. We have no quarrel. Do me a favor and let’s just call it a day."
Cui Biao had barely finished when a contemptuous voice echoed from an adjacent room. "Do you a favor? You think you have the clout to ask for favors here?"
As the voice faded, a young man in a black suit emerged, his hands clasped behind his back.
The young man’s face was deathly pale. He looked like a walking corpse, and his very presence seemed to instantly fill the air with a chilling aura.
"Who are you?" Cui Biao didn’t recognize him and asked with a frown.
"Li Chao’s older brother, Li Jun." The man stared at Ye Feng with icy hatred. "You piece of filth. For a woman, you not only killed my brother but also completely destroyed the Li family. Do you still think we have no quarrel?"
"So you’re one of the Li family. Does that mean you ordered the Blood-handed Butcher to kidnap President Wang today?" Cui Biao’s eyes went wide.
Li Jun gritted his teeth. "That’s right. This bitch is the root of all our troubles. Today, I’m going to capture her and have her join my brother in a ghost marriage!
"And as for this piece of filth, he killed my brother. Today, I’ll have the butcher slice him up, piece by piece! I’ll carve out his heart, liver, and lungs as an offering to my brother’s spirit!"
"If you want to touch Mr. Ye, you’ll have to get through me first," Cui Biao said, his expression darkening.
He had just spoken when the Blood-handed Butcher laughed malevolently. "You think you have any right to speak here? Get the hell out, or you’ll die here too."
Cui Biao clenched his jaw. "If this can’t be settled peacefully, then let’s fight."
One of Cui Biao’s men, a new recruit who didn’t know the Blood-handed Butcher’s reputation, charged forward. Full of hot-blooded courage, he brandished a machete and roared as he ran:
"Who the hell do you think you are, disrespecting Master San? I’ve been itching to take you down! Die right here!"
With that, he raised his machete and brought it down in a vicious chop aimed at the Blood-handed Butcher’s head.
"Brother, watch out!" Cui Biao cried out in alarm, but it was too late. The Blood-handed Butcher just chuckled, not retreating but advancing instead. His boning knife shot out, slithering like a venomous snake right along the blade of the machete.
In the next instant, the onlookers watched in horror as the man’s right arm was instantly flayed. The Blood-handed Butcher had stripped away all the muscle, leaving nothing but the ghastly white of bone exposed.
Only then did blood begin to gush forth. The steel machete fell from his hand, hitting the ground with a CLANG!
Everyone on the scene was frozen in shock. His bladework was unbelievably fast!
