After packing up all sorts of odds and ends four or five times, Kro finally hauled everything he could find onto the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

Looking at all the various things hanging off both sides of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin with ropes, Gu Xi was sweating all over.

He kept feeling like his Holy Silver Evil Coffin was about to turn into a garbage truck.

More than once Gu Xi had said that inside the coffin compartment of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin there was space that could be used for storage.

If it really didn’t work, they could just put some of the stuff inside.

But Kro just wouldn’t agree no matter what.

In his words, these were an adventurer’s ID.

Even if he lost his life, these things couldn’t be missing.

At the very least while he was still alive, these things absolutely couldn’t be lost.

Faced with this, Gu Xi couldn’t really say anything.

More than once he’d been tempted to just tie Kro to the side of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

In the end he thought about it and let it go; after all, the guy was still a quest objective.

Seeing that Kro wasn’t hauling anything else up anymore, Gu Xi sat down on the front seat of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin.

"Sit tight, we’re hitting the road first."

"Wait a sec..."

Before Kro even finished, the Holy Silver Evil Coffin plunged into the darkness, its speed instantly jumping to around a hundred kilometers an hour, then climbing toward two hundred.

Gu Xi sat at the very front of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, controlling the direction.

Even though it was pitch black ahead, for Gu Xi it was no problem at all to sense exactly where he was.

Kro hadn’t expected the Holy Silver Evil Coffin to look like this once it really started running.

He glanced around at the darkness and couldn’t help asking:

"Aren’t you an Undead Mage? How is this death... I mean darkness Power? That kind of Power is usually only Wizards use, right?"

"This isn’t Darkness Power, it’s just one of the Evil Coffin’s Traits."

Gu Xi muttered casually. Back then he’d gotten this Evil Coffin from the Darkness faction.

But Gu Xi wasn’t about to say that out loud.

He changed the subject. "Kro, when you do archaeology, do you only work in the three nearby kingdoms, or do you run all over the world?"

"I run all over, but I hang around these parts a bit more."

Kro didn’t think it was anything secret, so he answered right away.

"Then have you ever been to the Golden Pillar? Or the Sky Cities and the Underworld?"

Gu Xi asked again.

"Never been to the Sky Cities. Those only came about after Humans took over the world and started developing it.

There really isn’t any ’ancient’ stuff to dig up there.

I’ve been to the Underworld twice. Back when the Ancient Hundred Races were wiped out, a lot of races fled underground.

After all, Giant Dragons and Elves don’t like living underground, so those races ended up surviving in large numbers instead, and a lot of my knowledge comes from there.

But those races aren’t very easy to deal with, and there’s no sunlight in the Underworld. They light things up with Moonlight Moss, Lantern Flowers, and various glowing plants.

Staying in the Underworld is really damn uncomfortable.

Anyway, I never went back there after that.

Oh right, looking at your situation, that city that appears behind you is pretty interesting. I’ve never heard of that kind of Skill before—what Skill is that?"

"You’ve never heard of it?"

Gu Xi was puzzled. Could it be that the Death City Skills were exclusive to Undead Mages?

Other Professionals couldn’t have a city following them around?

"Never. At least I’ve never seen it."

Gu Xi hesitated for a moment, then decided to explain the situation with Death City.

After all, among the Death Three Divine Skills, Death City was the strongest and also the easiest to obtain.

It wasn’t really a secret.

After listening to Gu Xi, Kro thought seriously for a moment. "Yeah, that really is something only an Undead Mage would come up with."

"Seriously? I always thought other classes would have similar Skills.

Like Druids finding seeds of the Tree of Nature and building Natural Cities—that sounds pretty natural, doesn’t it?"

"But have you thought about how once you plant the seed, it can’t be moved anymore.

In the end Druids still have to return to the woods."

"That does make sense, but hang on, I remember there was a King who, in order to seek Power from a Great Monarch, said he’d sacrifice his own capital.

When a Demon receives a sacrificial offering, wouldn’t it keep the city?"

"That’s not quite how it works." Kro shook his head. "What do you think the other side really wants when they ask for a city?"

What do they want?

A portable city?

Gu Xi definitely didn’t think so. Thinking back to the situation with Yalidu City, that was already a dead city.

A thought suddenly flashed through Gu Xi’s Heart.

"The city’s popularity, its aura, or maybe its Souls?"

"Could be, but it definitely wouldn’t be the city itself, because that wouldn’t make sense.

So only an Undead Mage who can witness a city’s Death would be able to obtain a Death City.

Other Professionals can’t do that.

For them, a city is either fixed in one place; if they want something from it, they have to mobilize and transport it from the city, then deliver it to themselves.

Or it’s being sacrificed to them, so they can slaughter and destroy it.

Or, if that still doesn’t work, they do what those High Tier Great Mages do: level a mountain, lift it into the sky with Arcane Magic, and build a Sky City.

That already counts as a city you can carry around with you.

What you’re doing is really, really rare."

Hearing this, Gu Xi finally realized that he really didn’t know enough about other classes.

Just then, Kro seemed to remember something.

"Your Skill needs dead cities, right?

Then a city that’s been buried underground for ten thousand years—would that count as dead?"

"It counts, of course it counts. Right, you’re an archaeologist—you must’ve run into cities like that now and then, right?"

"I did find one once. I didn’t think too hard about it at the time; at least during the excavation I didn’t feel anything.

But looking back now, that should’ve been a dead city. When I entered that city, no matter where I went, it felt wrong, like there was a cold wind blowing on me everywhere I stood.

At first I thought it was some Yin Souls or wild ghosts I couldn’t see staring at me.

But now it doesn’t seem like that.

Do you think maybe that city had already died?"

"That’s definitely possible. Can you tell me where that city is?"

Gu Xi perked up instantly.

He hadn’t expected to get a windfall like this on this trip.

If he could, of course Gu Xi wanted to track down dead cities as early as possible.

He knew that in Ancestor City there were other Undead Mages besides him, and he had no idea whether any of them had already mastered the Death City Skill.

If they had, would they think of searching this world for already dead cities?

So Gu Xi had to get the information straight; if possible, he needed to race against time and occupy that city first.
