Chapter 1267: Chapter 1265: Awesome Senior Brothers

The little mishap on the road this morning didn’t have any real impact on Gu Xi.

Nothing else happened on the way either, and Gu Xi arrived smoothly at the agreed meeting place.

Seeing that there was still time, Gu Xi didn’t feel like wandering around and directly entered the restaurant called Fenggu Hall.

As soon as he stepped in and before he could speak, a waiter came up to him and asked, "Excuse me, are you Gu Xi, Mr. Gu?"

"Yes."

Gu Xi was a bit surprised. Since when did the service here get this insane?

They could tell right away who had arrived.

"This way, Mr. Gu."

The waiter had no intention of explaining anything to Gu Xi. He simply led the way in front, guiding Gu Xi toward the top floor at the back of the restaurant.

Gu Xi tried several times to speak, but each time the waiter cut him off with some line or another, firmly sticking to the principle of "you’re not getting anything out of my mouth."

Faced with this, Gu Xi didn’t even know what he was supposed to say.

Fortunately, before long the waiter brought him to the eleventh floor of Fenggu Hall. Pushing open the door, he said to Gu Xi, "Mr. Gu, this is it."

"This whole floor?"

"Yes, this entire floor is."

After saying that, the waiter withdrew.

Walking onto the eleventh floor, Gu Xi saw a man holding a book and reading, with a jelly-like drink placed by his hand.

When he saw Gu Xi come in, the man froze for a moment, then stood up with a smile.

"You must be the new student Teacher took in, right? Hello, my name is Su Zhux, I’m also one of Teacher Gong’s students. I’ve been with Teacher Gong for five years now, and I’ll be able to graduate in another three."

Gu Xi hurriedly stepped forward and said, "Hello, my name is Gu Xi."

"I know. I already explained your information to them when I came. Come on, sit down and talk."

"My information?"

Gu Xi was a bit surprised. Is this Su Zhux a Thief or something?

He could just pull up his intel like that?

He clearly had already hidden his own information away.

"Yeah, Teacher Gong took in a new student, so of course we have to know what kind of person he is, otherwise we might not recognize you when we meet.

Don’t worry, it’s all just your personal info I got from Senior Zong Tai, nothing beyond that."

"Right, at most you did a quick personality sketch, drew a portrait, and even prepped your talking points, huh."

Just then, another man walked out from one of the rooms.

Since this whole floor had been booked out, the man wasn’t wearing any black robes. When he came out he had on a light Blue shirt, but somehow he’d decorated it in a way that made him look like he had this fiery, flamboyant personality.

After coming out, he walked up to Gu Xi, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "Hi, my name is Jiang Zhong, I’m in the same year of graduate school as that guy.

But I’m a bit more useful than he is. Next year I’ll hit Level 19 and can start working on my thesis.

I’ve worked with this guy the longest. He’s been hit by Mind Magic before and has some paranoia issues; when it comes to anyone he has to deal with, he’s always extra cautious.

Terrified that something will go wrong somewhere again.

He has to thoroughly check everyone. Even if they’re dead, he’ll drag their Soul out to ask a few more questions.

I’m telling you, among the few of us, if we’re talking about whose Soul Whisper is the strongest, it’s definitely him."

"You’re not much better, Undead Knight Jiang Zhongsheng."

With that, Gu Xi immediately put the pieces together. Jiang Zhong clearly followed the Undead Mage path, yet his nickname was Undead Knight. That nickname had some real Spirituality to it.

Looked like these two Senior Brothers each had their quirks: one was paranoid, the other a chaos enjoyer.

At this point, Gu Xi simply took off his outer black robe and started talking with them more casually.

As soon as Su Zhux saw how Gu Xi was dressed, a hint of confusion flashed in his eyes.

Then he started sketching on a sheet of paper, and the more he drew, the more off it felt to him.

"Your outfit looks normal at first glance, but there’s a faint feminine touch at the back. Which woman helped you pick this out?

Right, the info I got said that a senior girl about to graduate went with you to register that day.

It was that senior sister, wasn’t it?"

Gu Xi hadn’t expected Su Zhux to deduce this much. He was just about to nod when Su Zhux continued.

"But something still feels off to me, like I can’t see through you. Are you hiding something?"

As he spoke, Su Zhux stared fixedly into Gu Xi’s eyes, as if trying to read something from his gaze.

Gu Xi said helplessly, "Nope. I’ve just been ambushed on the Mind side before too.

I nearly died under Psychic Influence.

Later I got an Orange Armor and immediately chose Mind Magic immunity."

Gu Xi lifted his left hand slightly, showing the Flame Light Six Paths Lamp in his hand.

As soon as he heard that, Su Zhux closed his eyes. With the basic Psychic Power he’d learned, he couldn’t actually see into other people’s hearts, but locking onto someone with his mind was something he could do.

He hadn’t expected that once he closed his eyes, he wouldn’t be able to perceive where Gu Xi was at all. It felt like Gu Xi had been erased by someone and wasn’t standing in front of him anymore.

"It’s real then. Looks like you’ve run into Mind trouble just like I did. Where did you run into that Spirit Mage? Was it those people from the Heart Sea Domain?"

Su Zhux asked curiously.

But Gu Xi noticed that the tip of his pen was still resting on the paper; clearly, he was still thinking something through.

"No, it was some Octopus Heads. In the game, I must have been targeted by them. Besides using Mind Magic, they also had Undead Mage, and they could also master the Death Three Divine Skills.

The most ridiculous part is that their Death Three Divine Skills seem to be inheritable through certain means.

As long as the city is in their hands, they can change the owner of Death City through some method.

I beat them once, but the outcome wasn’t great. I didn’t manage to seize Death City; instead, they locked onto me."

"Octopus Heads?" Su Zhux switched to a new sheet of paper and tilted his head in thought.

He quickly sketched a few patterns on the paper.

"I’ve seen monsters like Octopus Heads before, but none that managed to develop a system, successfully leave the game, and become a Player Race.

Still, what you said is very logical. No matter how I run the simulation, though, I keep feeling something’s off."

Gu Xi shrugged. No matter how sharp Su Zhux’s guesses were, there was no way he could guess that Gu Xi had fought his way out from deep inside the game into the real world.

Instead, Gu Xi directly asked, "Senior Brother Su, I keep feeling like someone is watching me, investigating my actions, trying to target me with an Attack. Is there any way to track these people down?"
