Unholy Priest: Reborn with a Glitched Lust System
Chapter 77 Solution
"Your Holiness, you're not really planning to learn a forbidden spell right? I know it's to save the Queen, but isn't that against..."
Aiden cut her off before she could finish, "I'll learn the spell."
Dina looked at him, she still couldn't believe Aiden, maybe he hadn't been in the church long enough it still he was a priest even before the attack, and now he was the Head Priest, it was strange to see a priest talk about learning forbidden magic, but still she admired Aiden willingness to do this for the kingdom.
"Forbidden magic is tricky, and since you can't really practice it, everything we'll be doing would be based on theory" Dina spoke.
"I can learn." Aiden replied.
Dina stared at him for a seconds before slowly smiling.
"That's actually not a bad idea, but Your Holiness, sorry for doubting you but do you truly have more mana than Katarina?" Dina asked.
"Yes, significantly more" Aiden replied. He was going based on the fact that the system told him about his mana capacity, saying it was probably the greatest in the entire world.
Kat looked surprised. "You think he can learn it?"
"I don't know." Dina picked up the book again.
"If His Holiness really has the mana to power this spell then he's probably our best option. I can redesign the spell. Teach him how to use it. He'll have to control the mana carefully because one mistake could hurt the Queen"
Aiden nodded. "Then teach me."
Dina looked at him seriously this time, "Your Holiness, this isn't magic. You won't be able to rely on what you're familiar with. Magic like this requires precise control. You can't simply pour mana into it like a normal spell"
"I understand." Aiden replied.
"You also need to understand that the spell is dangerous, If you try to use too much mana at once the spell could collapse."
"I understand."
Dina stared at him. "You really don't say much do you?"
Aiden smiled slightly. "You talk enough for both of us, the spell is dangerous, but is there another way? I'm sure it would work out, after all the goddess is by my side"
Dina stared at him with an expression that was both a mixture of surprise and curiosity for a moment before pointing her pen at him.
"Alright then, let's try that, also I'll like some quiet for some hours" s spoke as she returned her attention to the book.
Kat and Aiden moved away from Dina as she summoned one clone to assist her. Kat sat some distance away while Aiden walked through the library looking at titles of spell there, he didn't touch any since Dina had already told him some of the spell books were rigged.
For the several hours Dina worked without stopping. She and her clone read every page related to Memory Allocation copied the spell structure and then began rebuilding it piece by piece.
Her clone helped by searching through books for information about memory the human mind, soul connections and magical pathways. Every time it found something the information returned to Dina allowing her to compare it with the spell she was creating.
Eventually the original magic circle, on the floor was completely covered by Dinas new design, she stepped away looking at the magic circle which she had drawn on a piece of paper, then besides it was two other magic circle very similar to the first one.
"I'm done" Dina spoke and Aiden and Kat returned to her side looking at the new drawings she had.
"This should work " she said.
Aiden looked at the circle, one of them was far too complicated with different symbols and lines, while the other two were fairly simple compared to the first.
"Should?" Kat asked.
Dina smiled tiredly. "Magic isn't calculations and theories. Even if everything looks correct on paper, you won't know for certain until you activate it."
Aiden looked at the spell.
"Why are there three magic circles?" Aiden asked.
"There are the same, but this one is a single magic circle, while the other two are the break down, so you can choose which of them you want to learn, but I'll advise you to choose the first one, controlling two magic circle this complex might be a little different, even for highly trained mages" Dina replied.
"So what is the spell?"
Dina placed her pen down.
"I'll call it Memory Extraction."
She pointed toward the center of the circle. "It should allow the caster to locate a memory separate it from the targets mind and remove it.. There's still the original problem."
"The mana cost " Aiden said.
Dina nodded. "The mana cost is enormous, no matter how hard I tried, to get the spell to even activate, you need a huge chunk of mana, not to talk of the process of removing memories"
Aiden looked at the spell again, he had never learn a spell the normal way before, and now he was starting with a highly complex spell, but he wasn't worried that much, after all he had his system's help.
"If thats what it takes to save her I'll provide it."
Dina nodded slowly.
"Then we need to teach you the spell, but the most important part now, you can't pass it through holy mana as it would disrupt the workings of the spell, and I can't create a chant for the spell so you'll have to start blindly" Dina spoke.
She then closed the book placing the paper with the spell circle inside and pushed it toward Aiden.
Aiden picked up the book, "Can you give me an idea how long you think it'll take me to learn the spell?"
"I should give you an idea? Well... Different mages learn at different pace, but I can generously give you 3 days to a week, if you can't control it perfectly by then, it's useless to try and practice further"
Aiden nodded with a smile on his face, "I'm going back to the church, I'll return in the evening to give progress, also make a spell book on your clone spell"
Kat didn't say a word and simply followed Aiden, she opened the door to the library as both of them left Dina down there.
Aiden stepped out of the underground library with Kat, both of them walked towards the entrance of the library. Aiden immediately raised one hand to shield his eyes from the sunlight. He was aware the library was a bit brighter, he just didn't think the sun was up yet.
He blinked several times as his eyes adjusted to the brightness. For a moment, he simply stood there, staring downward till his eyes adjusted.
He looked toward Kat, who was standing beside him with the same surprised expression on her face.
"Morning already?" Aiden asked.
Kat looked up at the sun. "More than morning. We've been down there for hours."
Aiden glanced back toward the entrance of the underground library. "It didn't feel that long"
"That's because Dina doesn't know when to stop talking"
Aiden smiled slightly. "She was actually quiet for most of the time"
Kat looked at him, "Because she was working,"
"Still, that might be the first time I've ever seen her spend several hours without explaining something to someone, even when she worked, she would still find a way to talk to me" Kat sighed.
The two of them began walking through the academy grounds. Unlike the previous night, the place was now filled with students.
Groups of young mages, most of who were Aiden's age group were walking between buildings, some carrying books while others were talking with their friends.
A few students were already practicing spells in the open areas, causing small flashes of light to appear in the distance. The academy that had seemed almost empty during the night had completely changed now that the sun was up just like Kat said.
It didn't take long before some students noticed Kat.
At first, one student stopped walking, then another. Soon, several students began looking in their direction.
"Isn't that Miss Kat?"
"That's Headmaster Katarina."
"Who is the person beside her?"
"Wait..."
The students slowly began recognizing the clothing Aiden was wearing. The white priest robes were impossible to mistake, and the symbol of the church was clearly visible. But what shocked them even more was the position that came with the clothing, since it was a male, he was obviously the Head Priest.
"Is that...?"
"The new Head Priest?"
"His Holiness?"
The whispers spread quickly.
Students who had been walking casually were now stopping and bowing their heads. Some looked nervous, while others looked curious.
Aiden also noticed several of them stealing quick glances at him before looking down again, probably because he looked their age, and not some old priest, like all Head Priests in the past.
Aiden didn't seem to care, at least it wasn't like the priestesses in the church, these students were simply curious, still Aiden quickly made his way out of the academy, he had work to do after all.
