Chapter 244 - 131: Fusing Swordsmanship, Ten Thousand Swords Return to One
Yu Hualong paused, his gaze growing sharper.
"When I entered the Inner Sect and was promoted to True Inheritor, weren’t the resources also funneled to me? Back then, what did the other Inner Sect Disciples, the other True Disciples, think?"
No one had expected Yu Hualong to actually reprimand them.
One by one, they all lowered their heads.
Fang Yun’s fists slowly unclenched.
A flash of shame crossed his face.
Yu Hualong was right.
When Yu Hualong became a Celestial Pride, resources were also funneled to him alone.
Back then, weren’t the other Inner Sect Disciples and other True Disciples resentful in their hearts?
They definitely were.
But no one dared to voice it, because Yu Hualong had reached that position through his own strength.
It was the same with Zhang Su now.
He had completed the Celestial Pride Trial and become the Inner Sect’s Celestial Pride through his own strength.
On what grounds could he not enjoy the funneling of resources?
"Fang Yun, do you know your mistake?"
Yu Hualong stared at the Martial Artist who had been so indignant earlier.
Fang Yun had followed Yu Hualong for a long time and was one of his trusted confidants.
But now, Fang Yun could only lower his head and say softly, "I... was wrong."
His voice was quiet, but he truly knew he was wrong.
Because he felt that Yu Hualong was right.
His words just now were merely to vent his anger; there was no real logic to them.
"To know your mistakes and correct them is a great virtue. Don’t say such things again. The Sect is at a critical juncture right now. Everyone must do their best to overcome this crisis together."
Yu Hualong’s voice softened slightly.
His gaze moved from Fang Yun, sweeping over every disciple in the cave abode.
"As for Junior Brother Zhang Su... he is the Inner Sect’s Celestial Pride. Perhaps he will be the Guiyuan Sect’s only hope in the future. Even if something were to truly happen to me, you must all support Zhang Su with everything you have!"
Hearing these words, everyone present was deeply moved.
A trace of sorrow appeared on Fang Yun’s face.
The other disciples’ eyes also reddened a little.
Those who had never interacted with Yu Hualong all felt that he was high and mighty, very arrogant and aloof.
But in reality, everyone on Dragon Transformation Peak knew that Yu Hualong was approachable, fair in his dealings, and utterly devoted to the Sect.
In previous years, Shi Buyi of the Five Elements Sect had been in the limelight, constantly suppressing the Guiyuan Sect.
It was Yu Hualong who took risks to accomplish several major feats that shook the Three Sects, allowing the Guiyuan Sect to contend with the Five Elements Sect.
Unfortunately, in his battle against Shi Buyi, Yu Hualong was defeated.
Everything he had accomplished before was undone in that one fell swoop.
After that battle, Yu Hualong showed no outward signs of distress, but the people of Dragon Transformation Peak could all see that he was suffering greatly inside.
It wasn’t because he had lost, but because he felt he had let down the Sect’s expectations.
He had been in seclusion recuperating for so long precisely to recover his condition as quickly as possible and once again restore the prestige of the Guiyuan Sect.
But just as he recovered, the Jingyuan Sect arrived.
The Three Sects Alliance suffered repeated defeats—five losses in a row—and sustained heavy casualties.
Now, the battle of the Celestial Prides has become the only hope.
Yu Hualong was going to participate in a deathmatch.
And his fate was uncertain.
"Senior Brother..."
Fang Yun’s voice was choked with emotion.
He looked up at Yu Hualong, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
Just then, a Martial Artist from Dragon Transformation Peak hurried into the cave abode.
"What is it?"
Yu Hualong asked.
"Reporting to Senior Brother, Zhang Su is here..."
"Zhang Su?"
Yu Hualong smiled.
"Please show him in."
Everyone exchanged glances.
Just moments ago, Fang Yun had been saying that Zhang Su was using seclusion as an excuse and had no respect for Yu Hualong.
As it turned out, Zhang Su had now come to Dragon Transformation Peak of his own accord.
This proved that Zhang Su had truly been in seclusion before.
A flash of embarrassment crossed Fang Yun’s face.
"You are all dismissed for now."
Yu Hualong wanted to see Zhang Su alone.
"Yes, Senior Brother."
Everyone left the cave abode one after another.
Outside the cave abode, sunlight pierced through the thin mist, brightly illuminating the summit of Dragon Transformation Peak.
Zhang Su stood outside the cave abode, his gaze sweeping across Dragon Transformation Peak.
The summit of Dragon Transformation Peak was more open, and the cave abode was larger.
The path was lined with many strange flowers and Exotic Grasses, some of which Zhang Su had never seen anywhere else.
However, these flowers and plants were poorly tended and looked somewhat messy.
Zhang Su withdrew his gaze and stepped into the cave abode.
The cave abode was spacious. Luminous Pearls were embedded in the stone walls, casting a soft light.
Cushions were laid out on the floor next to a low table, upon which sat a tea set.
Zhang Su spotted Yu Hualong at a glance.
Yu Hualong was seated on a cushion, his calm gaze fixed on the entrance of the cave abode.
He wore a long cyan robe, and his face was sharp-featured, with a heroic air about his brows.
And Yu Hualong also saw Zhang Su.
The two looked at each other, but there was no tense atmosphere of drawn swords. Instead, it felt nonchalant and perfectly calm.
"If I recall correctly, this is the first time we’ve met."
Yu Hualong was the first to speak.
"Indeed, it is."
Zhang Su nodded.
"Junior Brother Zhang, please, have a seat and we can talk."
Yu Hualong gestured with his hand toward the cushion opposite him.
Zhang Su didn’t stand on ceremony and walked over to sit down.
As he sat on the cushion, he looked at Yu Hualong and felt a little surprised.
’Yu Hualong... seems different from what I imagined.’
Before coming to Dragon Transformation Peak, Zhang Su had considered many possibilities.
’Perhaps Yu Hualong would be hostile toward me. After all, I’ve diverted a significant amount of resources.’
But the Yu Hualong before him didn’t have that high-and-mighty, aloof air.
Sitting there, he was just like an ordinary Martial Artist.
"Senior Brother Yu, I heard you’re about to represent the Three Sects Alliance in a challenge match against a Jingyuan Sect Celestial Pride?"
Zhang Su asked.
"Yes."
Yu Hualong nodded, not denying it.
"Are you confident, Senior Brother?"
Zhang Su asked again.
Yu Hualong shook his head.
