Chapter 1129: Chapter 214: Actually Saved the Empress! (First Update)

The two of them, one calling themselves ’Empress’ and the other ’Prince’, directly revealed their identities within the Mountain Charm Clan.

Mu Qingge looked at Hou with some surprise, as she hadn’t expected the Mountain Charm girl that Hou had rescued years ago turned out to be the Empress of the Mountain Charm Clan! Of course, back then, she probably hadn’t inherited the throne yet.

’No wonder! No wonder when Hou mentioned Yin Le’s name, the Mountain Charm’s attitude shifted dramatically. It turns out, Hou didn’t just save a member of the Mountain Charm Clan; he saved their Empress.’ Mu Qingge thought to herself.

Hou also seemed surprised by Yin Le’s identity, and he said blankly, "Yin Le, it turns out you’re the Empress of the Mountain Charm Clan."

The Mountain Charm Empress’s beautiful cheeks carried a hint of shyness because of Hou’s words.

This made Mu Qingge blink in surprise.

The Mountain Charm Prince said, "Your Majesty, you can speak from here, no need to get too close."

His words were extremely pleasant, implying vigilance yet still providing a comfortable feeling, not a sense of offensiveness.

Yin Le replied, "No worries, Brother Kong won’t harm me."

Then she bypassed the Prince’s arm that was blocking her and walked up to Hou.

When Yin Le arrived before him, Hou was stunned. The faint fragrance coming off her gave him a feeling as if time had stood still. He murmured, "Even after thousands of years, you remain the same as ever."

Yin Le smiled, shyly lowering her eyes because of Hou’s words.

Mu Qingge, as a spectator, felt that this Mountain Charm Empress truly retained the mindset of a young girl. According to Hou, she was countless years old, yet she was still so innocent, so kind.

’Perhaps, it has something to do with the Mountain Charm Clan’s living environment,’ Mu Qingge thought privately.

While Hou and Yin Le reminisced on the side, Mu Qingge and Yin Chen stood silently. Suddenly, she felt a gaze upon her, accompanied by a few elements of inquiry.

Mu Qingge raised her eyes to meet the gaze of the Mountain Charm Prince.

In the somewhat bright light and at the close distance, Mu Qingge only realized now that the Mountain Charm’s eyes were also dark green, almost black, and unnoticed unless carefully distinguished.

When she came back to her senses, she found the Mountain Charm Prince smiling at her.

The smile was gentle, like sunlight streaming down.

’This Mountain Charm Prince is quite a gentle and elegant person.’ That was Mu Qingge’s first impression of him.

While meeting her gaze, the Mountain Charm Prince didn’t shyly retract his sight; instead, he politely nodded his head. Since he was so open, Mu Qingge naturally didn’t want to be awkward.

Thus, she returned the gesture with a courteous smile.

Still, she was puzzled about the meaning behind the Prince’s gaze.

Before she could reach a conclusion, Hou and Yin Le finished their conversation.

The smile on Yin Le’s lips faded slightly, looking seriously at Hou and said, "So, it seems Brother Kong is in trouble."

Hou grinned, "It’s not really trouble, just this time I got two of my friends involved, so I had to come here to hide. If it were just me alone, I wouldn’t have come at all."

Though he spoke casually, Yin Le’s eyes showed a hint of grievance. "Brother Kong doesn’t want to come to see me?"

Uh!

Hou was shocked, uncertain of her meaning or how to respond.

"Ahem." Mu Qingge lightly coughed.

Hou snapped back to reality, quickly saying, "It’s not like that, I just know of the Mountain Charm’s customs and didn’t want to disturb or inconvenience you. I didn’t even consider that the Mountain Charm girl I rescued back then would turn out to be their Empress."

Yin Le again showed a shy smile in front of Hou.

She then had a moment to glance at Mu Qingge and Yin Chen, offering them a smile. Yet, this smile differed from the one directed towards Hou, leaning more towards politeness.

"If you’re Brother Kong’s friends, then you’re my friends. Feel free to stay here with peace of mind," Yin Le said directly.

The Mountain Charm Prince spoke at that moment, "Your Majesty, should we inquire about what the matter is? If the trouble isn’t too great, the Mountain Charm can certainly intervene to mediate."

’This Mountain Charm Prince is shrewder than the Empress.’ Mu Qingge’s quick gaze swept up, pondering inwardly.

Upon seeing Yin Le, the same Empress title reminded Mu Qingge of Jiang Li. Compared to the former, Jiang Li exhibited more of an Empress presence and appeared more in control.

Her carefree boldness and unrestrained authority were founded upon her capability and confidence.

If Jiang Li were likened to a vibrant red rose, then the Mountain Charm Empress would be the pure white rose before her.

’Jiang Li, are you doing well?’ Mu Qingge sighed inwardly, remembering an old friend.

Jiang Li could be considered her closest confidante across lifetimes, without equal.

"Brother Kong..." Hearing the Prince’s words, Yin Le turned to Hou with an inquiring look.

It seemed, if he objected, she wouldn’t insist on him revealing who the enemy was or what the matter really was.

"Well..." Hou hesitated, unwittingly looking towards Mu Qingge.

His supposedly discreet gaze was caught by Yin Le and the Prince, leading them to look at Mu Qingge. Instantly, Mu Qingge became the focus of attention.

Mu Qingge smiled, speaking calmly, "Actually, there’s nothing much to say. A few years ago, Hou encountered trouble because of the Dragon Clan’s schemes and barely survived. We both are Hou’s friends and were angered upon hearing his plight, hence decided to help avenge Hou. It’s akin to ’those who kill will be killed’, we just retaliated against those Dragons who plotted against Hou. Unexpectedly, this led to the Dragon Clan seeking revenge, wanting to kill us. Hou worried about involving us, hence sought refuge with the Mountain Charm Clan."

She succinctly summarized the situation.

Still, the narrative underscored Hou’s grievances in seeking revenge, while also highlighting the Dragon Clan’s despicability.

Upon hearing it, Yin Le became instantly agitated, asking Hou, "What! Those Dragons nearly killed you? They dared!" Her words showed a trace of ferocity, finally displaying a bit of an Empress’s majesty.

"I’ve healed, thanks to Qingge," Hou said to Yin Le, while introducing Mu Qingge. "Oh yes, they’re Mu Qingge and Yin Chen, friends who would go through life and death with me."

Yin Le gratefully acknowledged Mu Qingge and Yin Chen, nodding, "Thank you for taking care of Brother Kong and being willing to help him avenge." Her tone, certainly not resembling an ordinary relationship!

"You’re of the Human Clan," the Prince looked at Mu Qingge at this moment and said.
