Seeing the fight was still ongoing in the hot pot restaurant, several officers immediately rushed in.

Someone had called the police when Wu Weizhong and Rick first clashed outside.

After rushing in, the officers immediately separated the two groups and ordered Wang Chenning and his students to back off.

Wang Chenning and his students immediately stopped and took a few steps back, while the exchange students struggled to their feet.

Rick, who was in the worst shape, struggled several times but still couldn’t get up. An officer had to help him to his feet.

However, he was far from grateful. As soon as he was up, he forcefully shoved away the officer who had helped him and spat out a string of curses.

The officer’s expression immediately darkened, and he was forced to issue a verbal warning.

But Rick paid him no mind, continuing to curse both the officer and Wang Chenning, who had just hit him, while repeatedly shoving the officer.

The other exchange students were just as arrogant. The officers didn’t lose their cool, but repeatedly backed away, warning them to stop immediately or they would have to use force.

But the students ignored them, continuing to shout and swear. Their actions grew even rougher, and they shoved one of the officers to the ground.

BANG! Wang Chenning struck again, sending Rick to the ground with a single kick.

Then, with lightning-fast movements, he sent the other exchange students who had been shoving the officers flying with a series of kicks.

His actions stunned everyone present.

Although the officers were grateful to Wang Chenning for getting them out of a bind, they repeatedly warned him not to be impulsive and that he couldn’t just hit people.

But Wang Chenning ignored their warnings. With a vicious flurry of punches and kicks, he brought all the students to the ground, meeting almost no resistance.

In less than a minute, he had taken down six or seven big and burly exchange students, leaving the officers watching in stunned silence.

Just then, one of the officers recognized Wang Chenning, and his heart sank.

Recently, Wang Chenning had been involved in multiple conflicts, and his photo and case files had been circulated within the Police Department.

A face that handsome was hard to forget once you’d seen it.

The officers handling the case just hadn’t expected to find Wang Chenning mixed in with a group of students, let alone clashing with exchange students.

Once Wang Chenning had subdued the arrogant exchange students, the officers were finally able to get the situation under control.

"What exactly happened here?" The lead officer asked, proceeding by the book, even though he knew tonight’s incident would be tricky to handle.

Wu Weizhong immediately stepped forward and explained what had happened that evening.

"They started it! We were just defending ourselves!" he added emphatically.

"I’m the one who beat them up," Wang Chenning said, stepping forward and pulling Wu Weizhong behind him, his expression calm. "Just handle it by the book."

Although the lead officer had already recognized him, he still confirmed his identity. "You’re Teacher Wang from the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine?"

"Yes." Wang Chenning nodded.

’Considering all the trouble I’ve stirred up with Luo Yuqing lately,’ he thought, ’I’m probably already flagged in the police system.’ It was no big surprise.

"Teacher Wang, we’re going to need you to cooperate with our investigation, alright?" The officer didn’t treat Wang Chenning with hostility. Instead, he spoke in a consultative tone. "Because this involves exchange students, things are a bit complicated. Everyone needs to come back with us to the Police Department. We need to get a detailed picture of what happened, and then we can find the best way to resolve this."

Wang Chenning had a special status, and so did these exchange students. This wasn’t something the few officers on the scene could resolve on their own.

’Even our chief probably can’t handle this,’ the officer thought. ’It’s best to let someone with real influence sort it out.’

The lead officer was confident that either Wang Chenning or his friends had the means to resolve this matter smoothly.

They were hoping for such an outcome. Otherwise, they would be caught in a difficult position.

After hearing Wu Weizhong’s side of the story, and having just been cursed at and shoved themselves, the officers had a very poor opinion of the exchange students.

Watching Wang Chenning teach them a lesson had been quite satisfying.

Wang Chenning was cooperative, saying he would bring his students to the Police Department to assist with the investigation.

"You can’t take this many people at once anyway. Just take them," Wang Chenning said, pointing to the exchange students still struggling on the floor. "We’ll head over on our own in a bit."

"Alright," the lead officer readily agreed, seeing that Wang Chenning wasn’t trying to throw his weight around.

At Wang Chenning’s suggestion, the officers handcuffed the still-defiant exchange students. Wang Chenning even helped them haul the men into their vehicle, taking the opportunity to use a few subtle techniques on them.

After the officers left, Wang Chenning and his students hailed two taxis to go to the Police Department.

Once at the Police Department, Wang Chenning and his students were very cooperative.

He was in the middle of giving his statement when Yang Xiaofei called.

He answered immediately.

"When can you get here?" Yang Xiaofei’s voice was as calm as ever. "You didn’t even reply to my message."

Wang Chenning replied, "I can’t make it right now."

Yang Xiaofei fell silent for a moment, then asked softly, "Are you having second thoughts?"

Wang Chenning chuckled. "I got in a fight and was taken to the Police Department. I might be detained until tomorrow."

Yang Xiaofei’s voice instantly sharpened. "Where are you?"

Wang Chenning told her the name of the Police Department.

Yang Xiaofei said nothing more and hung up.

About twenty minutes later, Yang Xiaofei’s Rolls-Royce pulled into the Police Department’s courtyard.

Two other cars had arrived just moments before her.

The occupants of these two cars got out, but instead of going inside, they stood waiting by the entrance.

As soon as they saw Yang Xiaofei’s car pull up, they rushed to greet her.

"Miss Yang!" A stern-looking middle-aged man approached, plastering a smile on his face. "You could have just called us. There was no need for you to come all the way down here yourself!"

"Mr. He, that’s my fiancé in there," Yang Xiaofei said, shaking his hand with a blank expression. "My fiancé was attacked by a pack of barbarians. Naturally, I had to come and see for myself."

"Fiancé?"

Yang Xiaofei’s words startled the men who had come to greet her.

’Yang Xiaofei’s fiancé is involved in this?’

’If Yang Xiaofei’s fiancé was injured, there would be hell to pay.’

The middle-aged man Yang Xiaofei had called "Mr. He" subconsciously wiped his forehead and explained with an apologetic smile, "Miss Yang, we aren’t entirely clear on the specifics of the situation ourselves. Why don’t we go inside together and take a look?"

Yang Xiaofei nodded and strode inside.

Just then, Wang Chenning happened to be walking out. He saw Yang Xiaofei and immediately waved a greeting.

"Are you alright?" Yang Xiaofei hurried over to Wang Chenning. "Are you hurt?"

"My luck’s holding up. I’m not hurt," Wang Chenning replied with a smile. "It’s a good thing I’ve trained in martial arts since I was a kid, otherwise I might have been a goner today. Those guys were huge, and they even dared to attack the officers!"

At Wang Chenning’s words, the expressions of Yang Xiaofei and the middle-aged men beside her all darkened.

But Yang Xiaofei didn’t say much more, simply turning to the middle-aged man beside her and asking, "Can I take him with me now?"
