As Wang Chenning left with Wang Liqing and Wang Liyu, he could still feel the undisguised killing intent in Lei Danyun’s eyes.

"What did you say to her? Our captain looks really angry!" Wu Ziyue, who was driving them away, asked curiously.

Wang Chenning said with a helpless look, "I told her she was a flat-chested tomboy, but that I could help her become a true woman. And she got angry!"

"What?! You actually said that to her?" Wu Ziyue stared at Wang Chenning, speechless. "Aren’t you afraid she’ll kill you?"

"I’m not afraid, and she won’t," Wang Chenning said with a grin. "People should know how to be grateful!"

Wu Ziyue didn’t know what to say.

Wang Chenning didn’t get out near the hotel. About a kilometer away, he told Wu Ziyue to head back.

He knew Lei Danyun would be relocating her team soon. He estimated they would all have returned to the country through various means by noon tomorrow. He told Wu Ziyue to rejoin his team early to avoid any complications.

After getting out of the car, Wang Chenning instructed Wang Liqing and Wang Liyu, who had already changed their clothes, "Go do what you need to do. Come find me tomorrow afternoon, and I’ll give you new identification documents. Then, head to Huaxia. Once I’m done here and return, I’ll make arrangements for you."

After he finished speaking, Wang Chenning tossed a pill to each of them. "Take this in an hour. The effect lasts for twelve hours, so time your visit to me precisely. And remember to bring me a little surprise. Otherwise, when the time is up, you might not get your next dose!"

"Yes, Lord!" Wang Liqing was the first to agree, and she shot Wang Liyu a look.

"Lord, can we come find you at your hotel?" Wang Liyu asked softly after agreeing.

"No!" Wang Chenning shook his head. "Call my phone then. One more thing. Don’t call me Lord. Call me Teacher Wang, or Master."

"Understood, Master!" the two women replied in unison.

Wang Chenning paid them no more mind and left by himself.

After Wang Chenning left, Wang Liqing and Wang Liyu also vanished swiftly.

After the long, tumultuous night, the two women were hungry, so they found a place to get a late-night snack.

"Are we just going to accept our fate like this?" Wang Liyu asked Wang Liqing, her face crestfallen.

Wang Liqing raised an eyebrow. "You want to kill him?"

"And you don’t?"

"I do," Wang Liqing nodded. "But if we kill him, we die too. I know the pills he gave us do more than just relieve the symptoms. They’re another means of control. If we stop taking them, we’ll die. If we keep taking them, we’ll never be free."

Wang Liyu hadn’t considered that. She was stunned.

"Let go of those fantasies," Wang Liqing said softly. "His methods are incredible, far beyond any opponent we’ve ever faced. Life under a man like that probably won’t be so bad. If he wanted us dead, it would only take a single thought. Since he’s keeping us alive, it means he genuinely wants us to work for him."

Wang Liyu was downcast for a moment before replying softly, "But I can’t swallow this humiliation! We’ve been in the game for years and never once failed. To be defeated so miserably... I can’t accept it!"

"So you want to take him down with you?" Wang Liqing’s brow twitched. "Are you insane? Because I, for one, don’t want to die. Look at it another way: do you really think we’re a match for him?"

Wang Liyu was left speechless.

Wang Liqing continued, "I suspect he’ll keep testing us. If we don’t perform well, the punishments will be even worse. I never want to experience that living death again. I’d rather be punished by him in some other way. We used to risk our lives for Old Jiu, and now we’ll risk them for him. The only difference is who we’re serving."

After thinking for a moment, Wang Liyu gave a slight nod. "All right, then. We’ll work for him for the time being. Let’s hope he’s powerful enough to make us forget this humiliation and make us willing to die for him!"

Wang Liqing said, "He told us to bring him a surprise when we see him tomorrow. Let’s figure out what that surprise should be."

After a moment’s thought, Wang Liyu whispered, "What if we kill Old Jiu? He’s the one the Huaxia people want dead the most."

"That could work," Wang Liqing agreed, then added another suggestion. "And let’s get him a piece of top-secret intel, too."

"Good," Wang Liyu agreed.

The two women hastily finished their late-night snack, then immediately vanished into Night, ready to implement their plan.

While Wang Liyu and Wang Liqing were having their late-night snack, Wang Chenning had already returned to his hotel.

He didn’t take the stairs or the elevator. Instead, under the cover of darkness, he re-entered his room through the window.

When Wang Chenning suddenly squeezed through the window, Yang Xiaofu and Wu Jingyi, who hadn’t gone to bed yet, jumped in fright.

"I’m back. Brought you a late-night snack!" Wang Chenning tossed a takeout container in front of them. "Thanks for your hard work. Go ahead and eat. I’m going to take a shower."

Without waiting for a reaction from Yang Xiaofu or Wu Jingyi, he headed straight for the bathroom to shower.

About ten minutes later, Wang Chenning emerged from the bathroom, fresh from his shower.

Seeing the two women had already finished the food he’d brought, he sat down in front of them with a smile. "Is the work done? If so, you two can go get some sleep."

"Shouldn’t you tell us what you were up to?" Yang Xiaofu rolled her eyes. "And why did you jump out the window instead of taking the stairs? Didn’t it occur to you that if you’d slipped, you would’ve been splattered all over the pavement?"

"Men like to show off in front of pretty women!" Wang Chenning replied with a chuckle. "As for what I was doing, don’t ask. Just pretend I was off on a secret rendezvous with another woman and snuck out because I didn’t want to cause a stir."

"We helped cover for you, and you still don’t trust us? You’re unbelievable!" Yang Xiaofu grew even more displeased. "Don’t you think that’s going a little too far?"

Wu Jingyi wasn’t happy about it either, but she didn’t dare be as forward as Yang Xiaofu. She only asked tactfully, "Master, did you run into any trouble while you were out? Is there anything else we need to do?"

"Alright, enough with the questions!" Wang Chenning shook his head. "I wasn’t doing anything bad, anyway. Besides, you need to get rid of that gossipy nature, or you’ll never accomplish anything great. As for what happened in the last three hours, just pretend you blacked out and don’t remember a thing. Got it? If not, I can always erase your memories for you... manually."

Startled, Yang Xiaofu and Wu Jingyi quickly agreed.

They had already completed the task Wang Chenning had given them. At his urging, they got up, ready to head back to bed.

Wu Jingyi went to use the restroom first.

The moment Wu Jingyi entered the restroom, Yang Xiaofu sidled up to Wang Chenning, clinging to his arm coquettishly. "Brother Ning, won’t you satisfy my curiosity? Just a little hint? Please? I’ll never be able to sleep otherwise. I swear I won’t tell a soul!"

Instead of answering, Wang Chenning simply wrapped his arm around her waist and gave her a sudden, unexpected kiss.

After kissing Yang Xiaofu until she went limp in his arms, Wang Chenning said with a grin, "Satisfied now? Once we’re back in the country, I’ll teach you all about physiological anatomy."

"Really?" Yang Xiaofu’s eyes went wide, her cheeks flushing red. "You better not be lying to me!"

Then she added, "Or... how about I stay and keep you company tonight? I can come back in a little while, okay? I want to sleep in your arms!"
