The two women were actually quite similar in personality—both were incredibly scheming.

"Alright, that’s enough nonsense!" he said, breaking free from Yang Xiaofu’s embrace. "If your family sees this, aren’t you worried they’ll gossip?"

Yang Xiaofu spotted Yang Xiaofei’s Rolls-Royce approaching and let go of Wang Chenning’s hand.

"Ugh, Brother Ning, you’re the worst!" she muttered, then turned to greet Yang Xiaofei.

Yang Xiaodong had arrived earlier. Hearing the commotion outside, he also ran out to greet them.

"Brother-in-law, I thought you were coming with my sister," Yang Xiaodong said, looking from Wang Chenning’s sports car to Yang Xiaofei’s Rolls-Royce in surprise. "Did you come with Xiaofu?"

"Your sister didn’t have a ride, so your other sister asked me to bring her," Wang Chenning said with a smile, patting Yang Xiaodong on the shoulder. "How have you been lately? You weren’t involved in that online incident, were you?"

Yang Xiaodong started, shaking his head frantically. "Brother-in-law, how could I get involved in something like that? I’ve barely been in touch with Li Mingchao recently, let alone people like Bai Qianxun or Zhang Guoping."

Then, he leaned in and asked Wang Chenning conspiratorially, "I heard Bai Qianxun and Zhang Guoping got beat up by some woman and ended up in the hospital. Was that you?"

"They were beaten up by a woman. Probably fighting over some girl," Wang Chenning said, patting Yang Xiaodong’s shoulder with a placid smile. "I’m not a woman, and I wouldn’t beat them up in public—not unless we had an open confrontation and someone was there to back me up, anyway. Still, they ought to know by now that provoking me has consequences. Hopefully, they’ll think twice before they try anything again."

To Yang Xiaodong, Wang Chenning’s words were as good as an admission that he was the one who had gone after Bai Qianxun, Zhang Guoping, and Lin Annian. The thought left him both shocked and thrilled.

He couldn’t believe Wang Chenning was so audacious, daring to retaliate against Yandu’s top-tier spoiled brats with such methods.

"Brother-in-law, you’re incredible! I’m seriously impressed," Yang Xiaodong said, giving Wang Chenning a thumbs-up.

"After I give your grandfather his conditioning treatment, I’ll give you one, too." Wang Chenning was quite pleased with Yang Xiaodong’s reaction and immediately offered him a reward.

Yang Xiaodong’s face immediately lit up.

He had already felt noticeable effects from Wang Chenning’s previous treatments.

For a man, such a fundamental improvement was a source of great pride.

The two men didn’t go inside right away, waiting by the door for Yang Xiaofei and Yang Xiaofu.

Yang Xiaofei was dressed in professional attire today. With a stoic expression, she looked cool and aloof.

With her younger siblings present, she couldn’t show her softer, more feminine side to Wang Chenning. So when she saw him, she offered only a polite, distant greeting.

"Are you done with your errands?" Yang Xiaofei was clearly keeping tabs on him. "I was planning to call an impromptu meeting when you got to the office. I wanted to introduce you to more of our senior management and announce our new partnership plans. Since you couldn’t make it, we’ll have to reschedule."

"My apologies," Wang Chenning said. "I was gone for a while, so a lot of things got put on the back burner. My disciples wanted me to hold a class for them tonight, and Chang Qingfeng wanted to discuss the lab preparations. I had to push them all off until tomorrow."

Hearing his explanation, Yang Xiaofei didn’t press the issue.

Yang Liansheng was waiting in the living room. Seeing Wang Chenning and Yang Xiaofei walk in side by side, he chuckled and beckoned for them to sit next to him.

Yang Liansheng was very invested in the matter between Wang Chenning and Yang Xiaofei.

He asked Wang Chenning about his trip abroad and then about the recent online incident.

When Wang Chenning said the online incident was more or less resolved, Yang Liansheng sounded a little surprised. "You’ve already handled it? Aren’t you worried they’ll get desperate and do something reckless?"

"Even a cornered rabbit will bite," Wang Chenning replied with a laugh. "If they’re not scared, then I have even less reason to be. I’m a free agent with nothing to lose. They, on the other hand, have vast family fortunes and businesses to worry about. They have far more to consider than I do. If I can’t make it in Yandu, I can just pack up and go back to Chang’an. Would they dare chase me all the way there?"

"True enough," Yang Liansheng said with a laugh, then changed the subject to Wang Chongjiu’s visit to Yandu.

"My grandfather said that me taking on foreign disciples is too significant an event for him to miss; he insists on attending," Wang Chenning explained to Yang Liansheng. He added that the ceremony for accepting Pu Zhiyun and Tian Zhiheng as his apprentices was scheduled for the afternoon of the day after tomorrow. His grandfather, Wang Chongjiu, would be flying in that morning, and he would personally go to the airport to pick him up.

"Once your grandfather arrives, we’ll have a proper get-together and finalize the wedding arrangements for you and Xiaofei," Yang Liansheng said, smiling as he looked from Yang Xiaofei to Wang Chenning. "You two aren’t getting any younger. It’s time to settle this."

"I’ll leave it all to Grandpa’s discretion," Yang Xiaofei said. Though a faint blush crept onto her cheeks, her voice was perfectly calm. As she spoke, she shot a meaningful glance at Wang Chenning.

Wang Chenning didn’t seem flustered at all, casually replying, "It’s been many years since Grandpa Yang and my grandfather have seen each other, hasn’t it? We can all have a few drinks, and you two can catch up on old times. If I end up staying in Yandu, I’m sure my grandfather will have more chances to visit, and you’ll be able to meet more often."

"True enough," Yang Liansheng agreed with a nod.

The more he saw of Wang Chenning, the more impressed he became.

Wang Chenning’s capabilities had far exceeded his expectations.

There weren’t many young men who, at his age, possessed such charisma and acted with such boldness.

In front of everyone, he repeatedly admonished Yang Xiaodong not to cause any trouble for Wang Chenning and to learn from his example.

Yang Xiaodong obediently agreed, declaring that Wang Chenning was his idol and that he would certainly do his best to learn from his future brother-in-law.

After the small talk, everyone took their seats for dinner.

Yang Xiaofei naturally sat beside Wang Chenning, and Yang Xiaofu, just as bold, sat down on his other side.

However, Yang Xiaofu behaved rationally, refraining from any overt displays of affection toward Wang Chenning and even addressing him as ’brother-in-law’.

After dinner, Wang Chenning gave Yang Liansheng another treatment.

By the time the treatment was over, it was already 8:30 p.m.
