Zhao Xiao'an froze for a moment before she quickly came to her senses.

"Serves them right!" she said, taking off her glasses and scoffing, her expression cold. "Who do they think they are, throwing their weight around here!"

Having been slapped by Wang Chenning in front of police officers and several uniformed security guards, the three men were utterly shocked.

But they still didn't back down. They hid behind the officers and continued to jump around, cursing and threatening to make Wang Chenning pay.

They demanded that the officers teach Wang Chenning a good lesson before detaining him, so he could rot in jail for a few years.

The police officers also saluted him.

Wang Chenning nodded and didn't ask any more questions.

"You just beat up Bai Qianxun's cousin. Aren't you worried Bai Qianxun will come looking for trouble?" Zhao Xiao'an said with a grin. "With this on top of everything else, and considering Bai Qianxun is still in the hospital!"

"Not afraid!" Wang Chenning shook his head. "With Luo Yuqing watching my back and your grandfather's protection, who do I have to fear?"

Zhao Xiao'an rolled her eyes.

"I heard Bai Qianxun and Zhang Guoping were both beaten so badly they ended up in the hospital, and that Lin Annian was dealt with as well." Zhao Jiefang got straight to the point. "Did you send people to do it?"

"Yes," Wang Chenning didn't deny it. "When I was in Japan, I recruited two assassins. I'm using drugs to control them now and have them do things for me. They're quite skilled; they pulled it off with ease."

"So how do you plan to clean up this mess?" Zhao Jiefang's expression was calm, showing no emotion.

"I'm trying to make them think someone is framing me, that the real issue is their own infighting. I'll make Bai Qianxun believe it was Lin Annian's self-harm ploy, and I'll make Zhang Guoping think it was either Bai Qianxun or Lin Annian who sent the attackers," Wang Chenning said with a grin. "I just arrived in Yandu and have no power base of my own. The only people I can rely on are Luo Yuqing and Yang Xiaofei. Yang Xiaofei would never stick her neck out for me in a matter like this. Luo Yuqing might, but as long as she can convince them she wasn't involved, my plan has a chance of success."

"Oh?" This seemed to surprise Zhao Jiefang. He didn't ask anything else, just smiled and nodded. "You're quite the schemer."

Then he asked Wang Chenning why he had been so impulsive during the incident just now.

Wang Chenning replied, "I just didn't want to bring shame to you and Xiao'an."

"You just wanted this old man to get involved in your affairs, didn't you?" Zhao Jiefang looked at Wang Chenning with a grin. "You little rascal, you're more calculating than you look. Alright, enough about these trivial matters. Tell me what happened after you went to Seoul and Tokyo, and tell me your next steps."

Wang Chenning briefly described his trips to Seoul and Tokyo, then explained the results he had achieved so far and his plans for the future.
