But she spent a good half hour carefully considering what she would say to Wang Chenning before she headed over.

Before Yang Xiaofei arrived, Wang Chenning had already discussed many matters with Zheng Qiuhang and done what was to be done.

As she left the pavilion, Zheng Qiuhang glanced back several times, a sour feeling creeping into her heart.

’I wonder if they’ll do the same things I just did in there.’

The thought of Yang Xiaofei receiving Wang Chenning’s favors on the very spot where she had just lain made her heart ache.

But she forced herself to get her emotions under control, put on a smile, and get back to work.

"Did you argue with Xiaofu?" Wang Chenning asked, pouring Yang Xiaofei a glass of juice after Zheng Qiuhang had left. "You two didn’t get into a physical fight, did you? Haha, she’s always been scared of you. I doubt she’d dare to pick a fight with you today."

"What did you say to Xiaofu? What did you two do?" Yang Xiaofei asked with an icy expression. "Have you two been hooking up behind my back?"

"Why do you have to be so crude?" Wang Chenning retorted irritably. "Go ask your sister. Or check for yourself if she’s still a girl or a woman now!"

Yang Xiaofei rolled her eyes and took a large gulp of the juice Wang Chenning had poured for her.

After taking a drink, Yang Xiaofei got straight to the point. "She wants to be your woman too, doesn’t she! During her treatment, did she deliberately try to seduce you?"

"What is it you want to know?" Wang Chenning asked, his brow furrowed. "And in what capacity are you asking me this?"

Yang Xiaofei froze for a second, then let out a soft, mournful sigh. "What would it take for you to be satisfied?"

"Are you referring to women?"

Yang Xiaofei’s silence was a tacit admission.

"If I found a woman I could love with my entire being, then I would certainly be satisfied," Wang Chenning said, looking at Yang Xiaofei with an unreadable smile. "Of all the women I’ve met, there are quite a few I like. But one I’m willing to give my whole heart to? Not yet."

Disappointment instantly flooded Yang Xiaofei’s heart. "So you’re just waiting for someone like that to come along?"

"I hope to meet someone like that, yes. But I hope even more that one of the women already in my life will become more and more perfect, more and more worthy of that love."

At these words, Yang Xiaofei’s eyes flew wide open.
