Chapter 4191 - 4210: Strong Ones Rule, Everywhere Is the Same
Talina answered, "That kind of Technology Gate isn’t a product of the Magita Empire. The Magita Empire can’t make that kind of Teleportation Gate."
Lin Chen’s expression was surprised. "It’s not a product of the Magita Empire?"
Talina nodded, her tone certain. "It’s a product of the Wisdom Star Empire. The Wisdom Star Empire focuses on tech, and on the technology side it’s much more advanced than the Magita Empire."
"The ones who sold you weren’t ordinary slave traders. They belong to Hanxu Commerce. Slave trafficking is only one part of their business. They carry Teleportation Gates, shuttle through the interstellar routes, and look for anything that can be sold."
"Tech products, all kinds of precious raw materials, martial artists, even undiscovered planets are all their targets. They only care about making money."
"The Teleportation Gate you mentioned should just be a small Teleportation Gate. This kind of gate has huge limits—the volume or mass of what’s being sent can’t exceed the standard, or it simply won’t go through."
"They’ll send anything valuable back through the Teleportation Gate to various trade planets, then sell it directly and turn it into cash. Once they’ve finished doing business in one place, they pack up the Teleportation Gate and move on to the next."
"That mysterious person you saw should be a member of Hanxu Commerce. He followed the Star Map to the Federation, then started doing slave trading. Of course, he may also be selling other valuable goods from the Federation."
"This type of Teleportation Gate can only be purchased from the Wisdom Star Empire. It can’t be modified, you can only use it according to the Rules..."
Lin Chen asked blankly, "Where exactly is this Wisdom Star Empire? Is Hanxu Commerce a chamber of commerce under the Magita Empire?"
Talina explained, "The Wisdom Star Empire, the Federation, and the Magita Empire are all part of the Lan Guang Star Alliance. The Wisdom Star Empire is on the other end of the Star Alliance, very far away."
"Hanxu Commerce is one of the Five Great Cosmic Chambers of Commerce. Their members are spread across the entire Universe. I don’t even know where their headquarters is, but in every empire within the Lan Guang Star Alliance, you can find them."
Lin Chen widened his eyes. "A chamber of commerce that powerful?"
Talina laughed. "There are many powerful organizations in the Universe. No matter what they do, the reason they’re powerful is because they have insanely strong leaders and lots of powerhouses. Others simply don’t dare provoke them, so naturally these organizations spread everywhere."
"In the Universe, with Strength you can do whatever you want. No Strength, and you’re just meat on the chopping block, waiting to be carved up."
"If one day you reach the Nebula Ninth Layer, you can bring the entire Federation under your command. If you climb another layer higher, you can rule many forces similar to the Federation and the Magita Empire."
Lin Chen sighed. "That’s brutally realistic. If your Strength is high enough, you can directly become the ruler."
Talina nodded. "That’s the Principle. Of course, different forces have different Rules. Since you belong to the Federation, if you can beat the strongest person in your Federation, you can replace him. But you still can’t replace the Magita Empire, because Above it all, the Lan Guang Star Alliance oversees every force."
"Forces in the Universe are all vertical, stacked layer by layer. Of course, if you discover a force no one else has found and you conquer it, then it’s yours in the bag. Whether you manage it, sell it, or blow it up is entirely your own choice."
Lin Chen nodded, gaining a deeper understanding of the forest-law of the Universe.
In the end, it wasn’t much different from the Cultivation World.
Strong Ones Rule, survival of the fittest.
He had originally thought that Technology Gate was a product of the Magita Empire, but it turned out to be from another empire, held in the hands of a bunch of merchants.
With his Strength, it was obviously impossible to go looking for trouble and hitch a ride back through a Teleportation Gate. If he wanted to go back in the future, he’d still have to find a Star Map and take a Flying Ship to slowly fly back.
Lin Chen now had no desire to go back, so he temporarily pushed that aside and asked about escaping.
"We can talk about all that later. Let’s focus on staying alive first. Which way are we running?"
Talina answered, "We keep heading north. My Third Brother’s territory is in the North."
"Okay!"
Four people flew north all the way. After ten or so days, they crossed the boundless Ocean and finally reached Sean’s territory.
Talina reported her identity; the message was quickly passed up the chain, and soon Sean appeared in front of Talina.
"Talina!"
Sean’s face lit up with joy. "When did you come back?"
Talina recounted how she’d been captured by Augustus right after returning.
Sean’s expression turned excited. "You brought father out?"
Talina nodded. "Yeah. All thanks to my two friends. They helped me, that’s how I managed to escape. Otherwise I’d probably still be stuck there."
"Augustus had me under guard. He wanted to marry me off to his Subordinate to win people’s hearts."
Sean’s eyes fell on Lin Chen and Qiu Chan, and he comforted her. "You got out and you’re safe, that’s all that matters. The rest doesn’t."
"Let’s not stand Around here. We’ll talk after we go back."
Sean led the people back to his residence. Along the way they saw large numbers of Military personnel and all kinds of supplies being transported, everything radiating the tense Breath of a looming war.
Once they arrived, Lin Chen took out the Void Pearl and released King Qingchuan Sea.
Sean’s gaze was startled. "What kind of space technology is this, that it can even hold living beings?"
Lin Chen casually explained it, and Sean’s expression turned shocked. "The Federation has tech like this? How big is the space inside? How many people can it hold?"
Lin Chen answered, "It’s quite spacious. It can hold a lot of people."
A sharp light flashed in Sean’s eyes. "If it can hold a lot of people, then this thing can be used in war-time raids—reach key nodes without anyone noticing, then release the Military inside for a surprise attack."
This Sean’s mind really worked fast; worthy of someone who commands troops.
"That’s something it Can do."
Sean was about to say more when Talina already spoke up. "My smartbrain was taken by Augustus. Get me a highest-grade smartbrain. I promised them that as long as they got me out, I’d give them their freedom back."
Sean’s eyes flickered and he smiled. "Alright. You settle in first, I’ll get it sorted for you right away."
