It was around an hour later when Kanan left his room after being called by the Chieftess. Reda, Lopis, and Fera were all talking about how big Kanan’s cock was, so he was glad that he was able to get out of that conversation. Though it was an ego boost.

Alue and Terin hadn’t woken up yet. Alue was understandable, but Terin...then again, the guy is so energetic that it makes sense that he would be passed out for longer.

The guard escorting Kanan directed him to the opposite side of the second level where the officials lived. There, the largest hut built in and onto the tree belonged to the chieftess, the place Kanan was headed to.

He wondered why Chieftess Loknya would invite him to her personal abode; their relationship wasn’t that great yet. It could be a ploy to make him lower his guard, or she could be genuine and want to talk.

Whichever it was, Kanan would be on his guard the whole time.

Once they arrived at the chieftess’s place, with many guards on standby, one of them opened the door to let him in.

"The Chieftess is waiting for you."

"Thank you."

Due to the house being built into the tree and being extended out of the tree, the interior of the home was very large. It was way bigger than the Chief’s hut and Kanan’s hut back at the Nemean Village, and just as impressive.

"You must be that warrior from the Nemean Tribe." A young woman around Kanan’s age said, eyeing him up and down.

"Kanan is my name. Nice to meet you. You are?"

"Nyalok." She answered, licking her lips.

’Nyalok? Isn’t that the Chieftess’s name spelled backward?’ Kanan actually thought that was cool.

"Hello, Nyalok. I’m here to meet the Chieftess. Is there a place I can sit until she is ready to meet with me?"

"You don’t look so tough," Nyalok said with a grin.

"Excuse me?"

"Mom and the council were talking about how powerful you are, and I just can’t see it. You’re strong; I can sense that, but to be wary of you, nah, I don’t buy it."

"U-Um, okay?"

"What’s your end goal here, Kanan? Is it to enslave us?"

"Definitely not. I have no interest in enslaving people."

Kanan caught himself instantly, but it was too late. It hadn’t been long since he was in the role of the Shaman, a key figure in his village, so he wasn’t used to managing his words unless he was actively being careful.

He had said that he had no interest in enslaving people. If Nyalok was smart, she could have caught his words and put together that he was of importance back in his village.

’Dammit, I messed up. I need to do better. One slip-up could be detrimental to the Nemean Tribe. Man, I’ve never felt so much pressure before. I’d rather fight a monster giant again.’

Nyalok narrowed her eyes. "YOU have no interest in enslaving people? An odd choice of words for someone who’s supposed to be among the weakest of warriors in your village."

"What are you trying to uncover?" Kanan asked

"The truth would be nice. You come here, and all you’ve been telling us is lies, lies, and more lies. That doesn’t sound like someone who wants to form a relationship with us."

Kanan eyed Nyalok. She was tall, slightly muscular, and extremely beautiful. Her boobs were very large for her build, though it looked great on her. Her face was also very welcoming, but that smirk had poison in it.

She looked strong, yet inviting. But once you walked through her doors, you would fall into a trap.

"So you’re doing the talking before your mother arrives? Well, I should say before your mother walks into the room, seeing as how she’s been listening to us the whole time."

Kanan saw Nyalok’s eyes widen for a split second before her smile grew. She walked over to a mat, sat down, and leaned against the wall as her mother walked inside.

"It seems that your senses are better than I thought." Loknya smiled, sitting next to her daughter.

The two of them looked identical, Loknya looking that young. Their builds were similar, but Loknya was shorter and less muscular.

Kanan concluded that her role must be something less laborious compared to her daughter’s.

He smiled. "Apparently not my mouth."

Humor was a good way to lighten the mood, and judging by their laughs, Kanan assumed he was successful.

"Okay, you want the truth, fine. But once I tell you, there is no going back. Just know that I have no ill intentions toward your people. I honestly wish to help you, trade with you, and build a great relationship with your tribe. If it turns out that you, and only you, chief, have ill intentions, then I will bring my people here to wipe out your own. I promise you that on Lord Nemean."

Loknya nodded. There was something about Kanan that made her believe in his words. The sincerity she felt from him was genuine. "Please, let us break down the wall that has been built between us."

"I am the Shaman of the Nemean Tribe." That’s all Kanan needed to say. Since the Helsik Tribe was aware of this title, Loknya would know of its significance.

It would also work in their favor if they wished to extort the Nemean Tribe. Their most valued member was away from home, hoping to strike up relations with another tribe. That was grounds for making demands if Kanan was captured.

Therefore, Loknya knew that Kanan was telling the truth. It made no sense to lie about something so grand.

"The Shaman of the Nemean Tribe. No wonder you’re so powerful." Loknya understood that things were now in her favor. There was the urge to see how much she could get from Kanan; her people needed help after all, but she knew that an alliance was far greater than forcing compliance.

"A shaman, huh? I knew there was something special about you." Nyalok got up and walked over to Kanan and placed a hand on his bare chest. "Say, are you mated?"
