Villain of Fate: The Tyrant System
Chapter 398: Mickey’s Funhouse
Mickey’s Funhouse
"Young Master Julian, as per your instructions, I’ve arranged for the Black Ghost and White Ghost to be placed in that... what was it, Funhouse."
Upon coming out, Lina Ashford reported.
The cool night breeze drifted through the estate courtyard, carrying the scent of damp earth and blooming flowers. Lanterns lining the stone pathway cast gentle pools of golden light across the ground, while the distant chirping of insects filled the quiet between their footsteps. The peaceful atmosphere stood in stark contrast to what Julian had planned next.
Lina stood with her hands respectfully folded before her, her long green hair swaying gently behind her. Even beneath the moonlight, her elegant purple eyes remained calm and attentive as she waited for Julian’s response.
Beside her, Liza Voss leaned casually against a nearby pillar. Though her petite frame gave her an innocent appearance, the faint smile playing on her lips suggested she already had a rough idea of what Julian intended to do.
"It’s Mickey’s Funhouse."
Julian chuckled, correcting her with complete seriousness.
The corner of Lina’s lips twitched ever so slightly.
No matter how many times she heard the strange name, it still sounded absurd.
This time, returning from Silverhaven City, he even brought back White Ghost.
The two captives had been separated for quite some time.
Previously, after Black Ghost was brought back, he stubbornly refused to reveal where Lucas was hidden.
The man’s will had proven surprisingly resilient. Despite various forms of questioning, he had remained silent, refusing to betray his employer or reveal a single useful clue.
Julian admired loyalty.
Unfortunately for Black Ghost...
That loyalty happened to be directed toward someone standing on the opposite side.
Now that White Ghost was also brought back, Julian had thought of a good idea to make them confess.
A faint smile appeared on his handsome face.
It wasn’t the smile of someone preparing to use violence.
Instead, it was the expression of someone who had come up with a particularly creative solution.
Liza noticed that familiar smile and silently sighed.
She had gradually gotten used to it.
Young Master Julian... he was good at everything, but sometimes a bit eccentric.
That was putting it politely.
Most people solved problems through strength or intimidation.
Julian preferred methods that nobody else could have imagined.
For instance, the ways he came up with to torment people were simply deadly.
She had witnessed enough of his bizarre ideas to know that whenever he wore that smile, someone was about to have a truly unforgettable experience.
The poor prisoners probably still believed they would be facing ordinary interrogation.
If only they knew.
Julian turned toward the two women.
"Let’s go."
The three of them quickly took a car and left the D’Aurelius family estate behind.
Night had fully settled over Valemont.
The city lights glittered in the distance like countless stars scattered across the earth. Neon signs illuminated busy streets while traffic gradually thinned as they drove farther from the city center.
Soon, the lively urban scenery gave way to quiet roads lined with towering trees.
The outskirts were peaceful, with only the occasional streetlamp breaking the darkness.
Inside the car, the atmosphere was unexpectedly relaxed.
Julian rested one arm against the window, watching the moonlit landscape slide past.
"So," he said with a teasing grin, "between the two of you, who thinks my interrogation methods are the most brilliant?"
Lina let out a soft laugh.
"I think ’terrifying’ is a more accurate description than ’brilliant,’ Young Master Julian."
Liza nodded in agreement.
"I’ve seen plenty of interrogators before, but none of them would think of building... whatever Mickey’s Funhouse is supposed to be."
Julian laughed.
"That’s because they’re limited by conventional thinking."
Liza tilted her head, pretending to consider his words.
"Or perhaps they’re simply more normal."
Julian placed a hand dramatically over his chest.
"You wound me."
Lina couldn’t help smiling.
The expression softened her usually composed face.
"I doubt someone as confident as you could be wounded so easily."
Julian glanced toward her with amusement.
"So you’ve started teasing me too?"
She met his golden eyes without hesitation.
"I learned from the best."
Julian laughed heartily.
"Not bad."
Liza folded her arms with an exaggerated pout.
"Young Master Julian, you’re playing favorites."
"Oh?"
"You praised Lina immediately, but you haven’t complimented me once tonight."
Julian looked her up and down before smiling.
"I don’t need to. You’re already confident enough for both of you."
Liza covered her mouth as she giggled.
"So that’s your excuse?"
"It sounds convincing."
"It sounds shameless."
"It can be both."
The three of them laughed together.
The relaxed conversation made the long drive feel surprisingly short.
Neither Lina nor Liza realized how naturally they had begun smiling whenever Julian was around.
The atmosphere around him had an odd warmth that made even dangerous missions feel less oppressive.
As the vehicle continued toward the outskirts of Valemont, silence briefly settled inside.
Julian gazed out at the moon.
I wonder how long Black Ghost and White Ghost can last before they completely break...
Neither Lina nor Liza said anything.
They simply exchanged the faintest glance.
Once again...
They had heard Julian’s inner thoughts.
Neither woman knew why.
Neither understood how it happened.
But every now and then, his silent thoughts reached only their ears as clearly as spoken words.
Julian himself remained completely unaware.
The car finally slowed before a large isolated building hidden among rows of trees.
From the outside, it looked harmless enough.
Bright colors covered the walls, while cheerful decorations surrounded the entrance.
Anyone seeing it for the first time would probably assume it was built for children.
Only Julian knew its true purpose.
The three stepped out of the car.
A cool wind swept across the empty road as they approached the specially modified Mickey’s Funhouse.
The building stood quietly beneath the night sky.
Julian walked confidently toward the entrance.
Lina and Liza exchanged uncertain looks before following behind him.
As soon as they opened the door, deafening music blasted out from inside.
"Spicy girl~ Spicy girl~"
"Fuker~ Fuker~"
"Dong dong da dong dong da..."
The overwhelmingly loud rhythm echoed through the entire building.
Colorful lights flashed wildly across the walls.
A magical melody emanated from inside, and Lina Ashford and Liza Voss stood at the door, saying in unison.
