Villainess Rampage: The Whole Sect Begs for Mercy
Chapter 669 - 676: Phenomenon of the Two Realms
"What’s going on?"
"What’s happening?"
The sky, once bright with the blazing sun, had suddenly plunged into darkness, sending a wave of shock and terror through the crowd.
Faced with this unknown terror, people could only huddle together for safety. Sticking close at least eased some of their panic.
The major Sects and families all began recalling their disciples, as if everyone sensed something was wrong.
"There have been strange omens everywhere recently. We knew something was going to happen, and now it’s finally here!"
"Sigh... I know. I don’t know what it is, but my heart won’t stop pounding!"
"Why hasn’t the Ancestor come out? Could she still be in seclusion at a time like this?"
The elders of the Ancient Cold Sect gathered, their expressions fraught with anxiety.
Worry and agitation were plain on everyone’s faces.
Luo Hantian remained silent, not uttering a single word.
He didn’t dare tell them that this sudden catastrophe was related to their Ancestor. He certainly couldn’t tell them that her mission was incredibly important and fraught with danger.
They were already anxious enough. If they learned the truth, their worry would only spiral out of control.
In the crowd, Leng Qingzhu and Liu Lan Yi seemed to realize something. They exchanged an uneasy glance, then quietly approached the Sect Master, their eyes silently asking the question on their minds.
Luo Hantian sighed. He didn’t answer directly, but he didn’t deny it either.
The two of them immediately understood: this bizarre phenomenon was connected to Song Wanning.
A deeper sense of dread bloomed in their hearts. They left the main hall and went to the entrance.
The sky remained just as dark, looking as if it might collapse at any moment, weighing heavily on everyone’s hearts.
The intense unease left everyone feeling agitated and helpless as they stared up at the sky again and again.
「In the Lower World, at the Song Family estate.」
The members of the Song Family wore grave expressions. The monsters hadn’t even been fully eradicated, yet strange omens kept appearing one after another. All sorts of rumors were now running rampant.
Now, with the entire world plunged into darkness, the Cultivators were in utter chaos. Nervous Cultivators were everywhere outside.
Song Qingyun had no choice but to gather the disciples and do his best to soothe their emotions.
But he had no confidence himself; he could only stare blankly outside.
"I wonder if Wan Ning is all right. Surely something like this isn’t happening in the Spirit Realm, is it?" he muttered to himself.
Beside him, Mu Yuan looked distraught. She felt as if the world was about to collapse.
’I wonder if we’ll ever get the chance to see Wan Ning again,’ she thought sorrowfully.
If the world collapsed, they would surely perish along with it.
Then, they would never have the chance to reunite with their daughter.
"It won’t come to that! We’ll be fine!"
Li Rao comforted them from the side. "Master is waiting for us in the Spirit Realm. We can definitely ascend successfully."
"This omen will surely pass quickly!"
But even as she said it, she wasn’t confident herself.
Everyone’s gaze fell upon the endless darkness. Countless living beings, terrified, prayed for the omen to pass quickly.
Hoping that nothing would happen.
...
"ROAR—"
The monsters roared even more savagely, charging madly toward the Array.
But Song Wanning and her two companions threw themselves in the way, blocking the monsters at all costs. They were fearless, even though they were already injured.
By now, Yun Yangzi and the others had already channeled more than half of their energy. After several rounds of adjustments, they could now control the rate of their output, ensuring at the very least that it was perfectly synchronized.
The slightest deviation would cause the Array to collapse.
Therefore, they didn’t dare let their focus waver for even an instant. Even when monsters lunged at them, they remained perfectly concentrated, entrusting their lives completely to the three defenders.
What incredible trust!
Song Wanning hissed in pain as her left arm was gashed again.
She glanced down to see a large chunk of flesh had been torn away.
Her expression hardened, and her attacks grew even more vicious.
Perhaps sensing the Array was nearing completion, the monsters swarmed in ever-increasing numbers, overwhelming the three defenders.
Their arms ached from the constant sword swings, to say nothing of the wounds covering their bodies.
Fortunately, Song Wanning had a few helpers, including the Red Blood Lotus, all of whom were contributing as much as they could. Otherwise, the pressure on the three would have been even greater.
Luckily, however, not a single monster had managed to get near Yun Yangzi’s group. The Array was still being activated in an orderly fashion.
"ROAR—"
Suddenly, a far more savage roar echoed out.
The monsters before them immediately parted as if they had encountered something terrifying, quickly clearing a path down the middle.
Song Wanning and her companions then saw an exceptionally small monster walking toward them, surrounded by a throng of its brethren.
The monster’s body emitted a fluorescent glow. Its eyes were a terrifying shade of red, and two long fangs jutted from its mouth, glinting with a blue light.
’Is that their leader?’
Baili Shang’s heart sank. This monster was clearly different; its power had to be extraordinary.
"Everyone, be careful!"
Song Wanning couldn’t help but raise her voice. "We must not let them get near the Array!"
Her gaze was resolute as she tightened her grip on her Longsword, her eyes brimming with killing intent.
No matter how powerful it was, she would never give it an opportunity to get close.
"ROAR—"
The monster seemed to sense Song Wanning’s challenge and let out a furious roar. The very air around them began to tremble.
Suddenly, a wave of oppressive power swept toward them.
With a great shout, Song Wanning took the initiative and charged the monster.
This time, she forsook her Longsword, choosing instead to fight the monster head-on.
She threw a vicious punch at the monster.
The monster shrieked, swiping its sharp claws back at her.
Meanwhile, the other monsters charged at Xuan Yan and Baili Shang.
The battlefield descended into chaos once more.
"ROAR—"
"BOOM—"
After a series of violent collisions, both Song Wanning and the monster were sent flying back.
A gash had been torn open where the monster’s claws had struck, and poison was already seeping into the wound.
Song Wanning’s heart sank. She immediately took out a Detoxification Pill and swallowed it, then shot toward the monster again like an arrow loosed from a bow.
The monster snarled in pain, its blood-red eyes filled with rage as it clashed violently with Song Wanning once more.
Both woman and beast were enraged, their attacks growing more and more ruthless, with no regard for their own safety.
In that moment, Song Wanning felt as if she had returned to her training days in the Demon King Map.
The attack patterns of the Demon Kings flashed through her mind, and she quickly centered herself.
Soon, the monster’s movements became much clearer in her eyes.
She let out a furious roar and shot into the air.
"ROAR—"
A dragon’s cry echoed as she transformed into a Golden Dragon and charged the monster.
The oppressive might of the Golden Dragon Clan was palpable, creating immense pressure even for those watching from a distance.
The monster, bearing the brunt of this pressure, was visibly startled by the sudden appearance of the Golden Dragon.
