Chapter 137: Looking for Answer (2)

Yu Zhihao grinned. "There are three possibilities. The first is that Duan Wang and his friend had no disagreement whatsoever and they even have harmonious relationship. There’s no so called disagreement over the profit and so on because the two of them didn’t care about it. However, there’s a mishap when they wanted to retrieve more of the ancient coins that cost Duan Wang’s friends’ life.

As for what kind of accident it is, Duan Wang himself didn’t seem to be sure about it and has been keeping silent. Or perhaps, he himself had no idea what had actually killed his best friend.

The second possibility is that Duan Wang and his friends are only harmonious on the surface because they have their own agendas. The two of them went to the river on their own and nothing happened in the beginning, but thing started to go wrong in the end when they wanted to retrieve the coins. Whatever happened, Duan Wang then decided to sacrifice his friend for the sake of his own life or perhaps for his own benefit, running away back to the village while the ghost river swallowed his friend.

The third possibility is similar to the second one. The difference is that instead of Duan Wang intentionally sacrificing his friend, it was his friend who chose to die for his sake. But while Duan Wang reacted to this story, I think it’s because of how outrageous it is instead of because it’s the truth."

Listening to Yu Zhihao recounting the stories that he told to Duan Wang with little difference from one story to another, Huo Yingsu was stunned.

She had the feeling that this was a method that only Yu Zhihao could use.

Other people wouldn’t have the patience and imagination as good as Yu Zhihao to tell various different stories to other people while monitoring their micro expression.

’He’s really great,’ Huo Yingsu thought to herself.

She glanced at Duan Wang, who has a poker face and letting himself be dragged over by the others. His expressions had long collapsed and he only moved his butt a bit to avoid being poked by rocks along the way.

Ye Lin tilted his head. "All of your stories seem reasonable, but isn’t it obvious that the water ghosts is trying to take back the coins?" ℯℯ𝑙.

"It’s not simple." Yu Zhihao shook his head. "If the water ghosts only want the coins, then they would only react when Duan Wang is close to the river. But the truth is that there are many villagers who died just when they got close to the river without doing anything. This meant that the ghosts river should have targeted them too for some reason."

"For some reason?"

"Duan Wang himself don’t know."

"Oh."

If Duan Wang himself had no idea, then it would be practically impossible for Yu Zhihao to test his reaction from these make up stories. He does like to create stories and use his imagination to calculate countless possibilities.

But if the other parties had no reaction whatsoever, then it would be boring.

So Yu Zhihao chose not to continue with his unique ’interrogation’ that was clearly based on guesses and imagination more than facts.

Well...

There was no time for a proper investigation in the Live Stream Horror Survival Game.

None of them were police officers either and they didn’t care about the methods they used as long as they could get the information they needed to complete their mission.

"Which one of the three do you think most likely?"

"The first one."

"First one."

"...I don’t know." Ye Lin was the only one who had no idea because he felt that all three were possible. So when he heard the other two were basically giving direct certain answer, his expression turned blank.

Did he miss something?

Ye Lin felt that he shouldn’t have missed anything before, but he couldn’t understand why the other two seemed to be certain that the answer is the first one.

"Why?" Yu Zhihao was stunned.

He was planning to play a long guessing game with the others!

How did they manage to guess so quickly?

"You usually put the one you’re most certain of as the first one," Han Yichen replied calmly, relying on his knowledge of Yu Zhihao to make his own guess.

Besides, he felt that the first one was most likely based on Duan Wang’s reaction so far.

"Because it’s the most logical?" Huo Yingsu was not sure how she should explain this to Yu Zhihao. "I just think that whether it’s sacrificing his friend or having his friend sacrificed himself, Duan Wang should have guilt in his eyes..."

When Yu Zhihao was recounting the story, Huo Yingsu was watching Duan Wang since she was at the very back.

That was why she could see that while Duan Wang’s eyes looked complicated, there was clearly no guilt.

What she saw was confusion.

It seemed as if Duan Wang himself had no idea what had actually happened when his best friend suddenly died.

"Ah? You’re cheating!" Ye Lin complained and then looked at Duan Wang, who was still being dragged behind him and said, "How did you notice such emotion?"

"Hmm... Let’s just say that I’m not blind," Huo Yingsu replied with a smile.

"What kind of answer is that?"

"Ahahaha!"

The group laughed at Ye Lin’s exasperation while the live broadcast was discussing this matter.

...

[Huh, so how many stories did Yu Zhihao made up to break down Duan Wang’s defense before?]

[I think it’s 30 something? I don’t count it at the end because the stories are getting more and more outrageous.]

[Pfft, no one could withstand it when Yu Zhihao started to unleash his powerful imagination and storytelling]

[If his storytelling is good, it would have been better. But who made him keep on trying to scare Duan Wang and made the man’s mental collapse]

[Huh? Is he a police officer or something?]

[It shouldn’t be. The three of them seems to say that their profession are untreated to public jobs]
