“The announcement said that it’ll only last three weeks so tomorrow should be the end,” Han Yichen said calmly. “After that you can still continue doing the same work and they will pay you. However, the job slot is estimated to decrease since most work is almost done.”

The cleaning up progress was almost done.

When Han Yichen went to check not long ago, he noticed this matter.

After all, the repair and the expansion of the base has been going on for almost three weeks and with how efficient they were, it was almost done. He just didn’t feel it that clearly since his position is that of a doctor.

No doctor would be asked to do menial work.

“If we can finally stop getting this kind of work, it’ll be for the best,” Yu Zhihao said with a sigh. “My sister kept on asking them to assign the hardest work to me… I even saw my ability points increase by 1 point two days ago.”

The others: “…”

It seemed that Yu Zhixue somehow managed to help Yu Zhihao get stronger.

After all, it was not that easy to increase their ability points once their points were already in three digits.

It was already beyond normal human, so the task that Yu Zhixue asked the base to assign to Yu Zhihao would have been quite overwhelming for him too.

Tsk, tsk.

Poor Yu Zhihao.

“What kind of job do you even want to take if you’re not taking these jobs?” Ye Lin asked back.

“Uh…” Yu Zhihao paused and then turned to look at Yu Zhixue.

“I’m not employing you in my company.” Yu Zhixue rolled her eyes and made the decision before Yu Zhihao could say anything. With her brother’s ability and personality, she felt that she would be driven crazy by him if she had to hire him.

It’s better to let other people hire him instead.

Yu Zhihao: “…”

“Pfft.”

Seeing the others laughing, Yu Zhihao rolled his eyes and glared at Ye Lin. “And what about you, Ye Lin, what’s your plan?”

He purposely didn’t ask Han Yichen since he knew that the other party was planning to continue working as a doctor. Not to mention, his salary was also very high in the base since many people required doctors to treat their sickness and injuries.

In short, Han Yichen will never lack work.

“Hmm? I’m applying to become a government worker, responsible for dealing with the ghosts,” Ye Lin said with a grin.

“Huh? You plan to become a public servant?”

“Kind of but with more freedom. I have finished negotiating with them and will start working in a few more days when they plan to start dealing with those ghosts,” Ye Lin replied.

Since some of his family members were part of the government officials, Ye Lin figured out that it would be better for him to work in this area too. He still had them to help him smooth things out in case things didn’t work out well.

But in any case, Ye Lin has confidence that he would be able to do his work well.

He already had the advantage of being one of the few players from this planet. And even though he had to participate in the game once a month, time would not move in the real world.

As long as he took care of himself, he believed that he would be fine.

Besides…

“And I’ll be getting even more training from them in preparation for my game time later,” Ye Lin added.

“…No wonder you have been missing every afternoon and I thought that you’re working in different place,” Yu Zhihao muttered.

Even though he was indeed given the hardest job per Yu Zhixue’s request, it was located not far from where Ye Lin was located. But he failed to see the other party these days after lunch, making him wonder if Ye Lin was working in other places.

Who would have thought that he had already ‘hooked up’ with the government?

“I don’t think it’s that important to tell you since none of you are willing to become public servant.” Ye Lin rolled his eyes. “I heard that Xue Jie has been given the offer several times but she kept on rejecting it.”

“Huh? Is that right, Sis?”

“Uh huh.” Yu Zhixue nodded and then said, “To be exact, they want my help since my physical strength is my main forte and they’re planning on another raid to the center of the trouble.”

“Another raid?” Han Yichen caught the key point and he frowned. “Are you saying that they have tried it?”

“Yes. Remember the earthquake right before we start the game? A few players have been marching to the center of the trouble but they’re stopped by a large number of ghosts. It’s not known what caused these ghosts to be so perceptive, though,” Yu Zhixue explained. “They’re not willing to share more details, but I found out through the forum that the cause of the disaster is half man made.”

Man made.

“Heh.” Ye Lin sneered and his eyes turned in two different color as he cracked his fists together. “Does it mean that there’s some kind of failed experiment? Let me guess, that experiment definitely involve some kind of supernatural incidents.”

“Mhm.” Yu Zhixue nodded. “A cult or something like that. I don’t know for sure but since they caused such a big disaster, there are armies from various countries who will gather over.”

“With so many people going there, is there really any need for you to come?”

“Ah, what they want is nothing more than the resources I can buy through the mall. They still trust their weapons more than us, players,” Yu Zhixue said indifferently. “So I strike up an agreement to exchange talisman worth 100 survival points every day for 20 days every month with them in exchange for some things that I need.”

The others: “…” What a ruthless businesswoman.

Even at times like this, she still strike a deal and pursued profit.
