Chapter 386: Chapter: 385 Saint Uriel.

"Please welcome, the guest of honour, Saint Uriel!"

As soon as Chakravartin spoke, the gate through which he had entered opened once again. A carriage slowly rolled into the coliseum, its body decorated in red and white, bearing the unmistakable design of the Church of Baignore.

Several holy knights accompanied it from both sides, their armor shining beneath the sunlight as they marched alongside the carriage with disciplined steps.

The sight immediately drew the attention of everyone in the coliseum. Even those who had been speaking among themselves fell silent as they recognized the insignia of the Holy Empire.

Julius, Rosalina, and Alfred all frowned at the sight.

Alfred had expected the representatives to be someone from the Hayes Clan. That had been the most logical choice, especially considering the current situation between the humans and the Zlycons.

Yet instead of a member of the Hayes Clan, the person sent by the humans was someone far more important.

Saint Uriel.

Alfred’s expression became complicated as he watched the carriage approach. His original plan had been to use the meeting with the Hayes Clan as an opportunity to establish contact and then find a way to leave the Stationary Continents with Julius and Rosalina.

Now that the representative was someone else, things had become slightly more difficult. However, there was one major concern that had disappeared entirely. He no longer needed to worry about secretly rescuing Julius from the Zlycons.

Julius had already appeared before him alive and well, and with Uriel here, getting in contact with the Holy Empire’s Saint would not be particularly difficult once they found an opportunity to speak privately.

In that sense, Alfred could finally breathe a little easier.

Julius, however, had a completely different reason for frowning.

He had never expected the humans, especially the Pope, to send someone as precious as Uriel to the negotiations. Uriel was not merely an influential figure within the Holy Empire.

He was one of the strongest cards humanity possessed against the Zlycons, and that was precisely why Julius had originally created him.

The war between humanity and the Zlycons had always been inevitable in the story he remembered, although the circumstances surrounding it had been completely different.

In the original timeline, Cyprian Thorne had stolen the wife of Great Sanachi, eventually becoming the catalyst for the conflict between the two races.

This time, however, that incident had never happened.

The reason for the conflict was different. The assassinations had changed everything, and yet the Holy Empire had still sent Uriel.

Julius narrowed his eyes as another thought suddenly crossed his mind. Was there someone in the novel who could assassinate so many powerhouses without leaving behind even the slightest trace?

He searched through his memories, trying to recall every important character and incident that had occurred around this stage of the story. Nothing immediately came to mind.

It was possible that he had simply forgotten, but Julius had always been particularly good at remembering important events from the novel.

An unknown existence capable of silently killing so many powerful figures should have been significant enough to appear in his memories.

Yet there was nothing.

Before he could investigate the thought any further, another memory surfaced.

What he remembered from the period surrounding the war was that he and Rosalina had eventually reached the peak of the world.

The two of them had become the strongest beings of their generation, but Julius himself had not participated in the war. For reasons he could no longer clearly remember, he had been completely absent from that portion of the story, leaving the focus entirely on Rosalina.

She had fought against—Julius’s eyes suddenly widened.

His head snapped toward Rosalina.

Rosalina immediately noticed the change in his expression and looked at him in confusion. "What?"

"N-nothing."

Julius forced his voice to remain steady and quickly turned his head back toward the carriage. His expression had barely changed, but inside his mind, countless thoughts were colliding with one another.

How did the Julius and Rosalina from the original timeline awaken the third ability of their eyes?

That question had never made sense to him.

In this timeline, Julius had been incredibly fortunate to meet Destiny. She had prepared her blood specifically for him, allowing him to awaken an ability that should have been impossible for him to obtain at this point.

At first, Julius had assumed that this was simply something unique to his current timeline, something Destiny had prepared because she knew what was going to happen to him.

But what about the original Julius? What about Rosalina?

Neither of them had met Destiny in the same way he had.

Julius’s thoughts raced as he tried to connect the pieces. No. Destiny must have prepared something for the original Julius as well.

The conclusion seemed obvious once he considered it.

Destiny had known the future. She had prepared blood before he even arrived at the Nightmare Forest, meaning she had already accounted for events that had not yet happened.

If she had known enough to prepare for him in this timeline, then there was no reason to assume she had only prepared for this single possibility.

But there was still something that didn’t make sense.

In the original story, neither Julius nor Rosalina had ever been mentioned as having entered the Nightmare Forest at this stage.

Julius frowned deeply.

’Then how?’

The more he thought about it, the more complicated everything became.

"Ahh, it’s so damn confusing," Julius muttered under his breath.

Perhaps Destiny had prepared for both timelines. The thought made Julius’s expression grow heavier.

Her powers were beyond his understanding. If she could perceive the countless possibilities surrounding his actions, then perhaps she had already accounted for both versions of events. And that still wasn’t considering Cyprian Thorne’s endless regressions.

Whenever Cyprian regressed, the entire world regressed with him. It wasn’t as though a new alternate universe was created every time he returned to the past. Everything was dragged back along with him, meaning Destiny’s observations could potentially span events that Julius himself couldn’t even comprehend.

Perhaps she had seen everything.

Perhaps she had seen the countless possibilities that could emerge from a single decision and prepared for all of them.

That realization finally made something click inside Julius’s mind.

He finally understood why Destiny had been so reluctant to tell him what he should do.

At first, he had wondered why she would give him so much freedom when she clearly knew far more than he did. Why not simply tell him which choices would lead to the best outcome? Why leave him to figure everything out himself when she could see the future?

Now he understood.

From Destiny’s perspective, there might not be a single future.

There could be countless possibilities branching from every decision Julius made. A single sentence could lead to a different conversation, that conversation could alter another person’s decision, and that decision could eventually create a completely different future.

Even Julius’s own limited ability to see the future had shown him how easily things could change. He could only see roughly half an hour to an hour ahead, yet even within that short period, the smallest action could completely alter what he saw.

Destiny had seen far more than that.

She had potentially seen countless futures, countless decisions, and countless ways for Julius to die before reaching the point she had prepared him for.

That was why she didn’t tell him everything.

If she gave him the answer, his very attempt to follow it could become the reason that future ceased to exist.

Julius finally understood. Still, the realization only created more questions.

There were too many mysteries surrounding Destiny, the original Julius, Rosalina, and the events that had led to the current timeline.

He couldn’t possibly solve all of them here, especially not with an entire coliseum watching the arrival of the Holy Empire’s representative.

For now, he could only put those thoughts aside.

Julius slowly raised his head, the carriage had stopped. The door opened, and Saint Uriel stepped out.

The moment he appeared, the entire coliseum fell silent.
