Chapter 388: Chapter: 387 If you want to help, then come with me.
Julius’s eyes widened as the explosion erupted right there in the VIP area. The blast showed no regard for the Zlycon civilians surrounding it, and its sheer force sent both Julius and Rosalina flying backward.
Their hoods slipped from their heads in the process, but before either of them could hit the ground, Alfred moved. His figure blurred for an instant as he caught both hoods in his hands before calmly placing them on the ground beside them.
Julius and Rosalina breathed heavily as they looked toward the VIP area. Flames hotter than lava were pouring out from the building, twisting into the sky and consuming everything in their path.
The intensity of the fire made it difficult for Julius to see what was happening inside, but his senses were enough to tell him that several powerful beings were present. Their auras were unmistakable, and some of them were far stronger than him.
’Was that an ambush?’
Julius narrowed his eyes as he tried to understand what had just happened. It didn’t seem as though the Zlycons were responsible. If anything, the chaos suggested the exact opposite. The Zlycons had been attacked.
He looked around the coliseum, and his expression gradually hardened. Chaos had erupted throughout the entire arena.
The spectators sitting closest to the VIP area had been caught in the explosion, many of them engulfed by the flames
before they even had a chance to react.
Screams echoed throughout the coliseum as people desperately tried to escape, while the cries of children could be heard among the chaos. Mothers desperately pulled their children along, some stumbling over fallen bodies as they attempted to get away from the spreading fire.
’This...’
Julius’s gaze shifted toward a woman desperately carrying a child in her arms as she attempted to flee. Another child clung to her clothes, crying as the woman repeatedly looked over her shoulder at the flames behind them.
The attack had happened so suddenly that he hadn’t even had time to process what he was feeling. He had expected conflict, but not this. Not an attack in the middle of a coliseum filled with ordinary civilians who had nothing to do with whatever battle was about to unfold.
Fortunately, the participants of the Grand Tournament had not remained idle. One after another, they moved through the battlefield, protecting civilians and clearing paths through the wreckage.
Some carried injured spectators away from the flames, while others used their abilities to suppress the spreading fire. Even the tournament participants who had entered the arena moments ago seemed to understand that whatever competition they had come here for no longer mattered.
"Boom!"
Another explosion erupted from the VIP area, far more violent than the first. The shockwave swept across the coliseum once again, forcing Julius to brace himself as several pieces of debris flew through the air.
At the same time, several figures rose into the sky. Julius immediately focused his senses and reached for the connection he shared with Uriel.
’There.’
Uriel was alive.
Julius quietly released the breath he had been holding. At least that much was certain. But when he looked toward the sky again, his eyes almost popped out.
’Father?’
A familiar figure stood above the coliseum.
His flames engulfed the sky around him, turning the air itself into something that seemed to burn.
The heat radiating from his body reminded Julius of standing directly beneath the sun, and even from this distance, the flames were powerful enough to distort the air around him.
And standing opposite him was none other than Chakravartin.
Lightning crackled around the Zlycon Patriarch as dark clouds gathered overhead. The clouds parted around his figure, and flashes of lightning illuminated the sky as his aura spread across the battlefield.
Julius couldn’t make out their expressions from this distance, nor could he hear what they were saying, but it was obvious that they were exchanging words.
Then the two moved.
Their figures disappeared from their positions as fire and lightning collided above the coliseum.
"Damn it...!"
Julius cursed under his breath as he watched his father fight against the Solarian Patriarch.
This was exactly what he had been afraid of.
According to Destiny, the Zlycons were supposed to become their allies. Julius still hadn’t had enough time to properly process everything Destiny had told him, but one thing had become increasingly clear: the future she had talked about was not something he could simply ignore.
Considering who she was, there was little reason to doubt it—he and the Zlycons would eventually have to stand together against something far greater than anything.
Fighting against the gods and Fate was already close to a death sentence even under the best circumstances.
Trying to do it alone was simply madness.
And now the humans had arrived and attacked the very people who were supposed to become his allies.
Before Julius could think any further, Rosalina’s voice suddenly reached him.
"V-Victor..."
Julius immediately turned toward her.
Rosalina was staring into the sky, her expression tense.
Following her gaze, Julius looked up. His expression darkened instantly.
’Victor Velentina....’
Darkness surged around Victor’s body as flames attempted to engulf him, yet he appeared completely unfazed. He moved through the flames with frightening ease before launching an attack toward the hunched old man standing before him.
Julius’s expression became even more serious.
This wasn’t just an attack. Powerful beings from both sides were already fighting.
And it was only beginning. Two more figures suddenly rose into the sky, their movements so fast that Julius could barely distinguish their forms. Their faces remained blurred by distance and the chaos surrounding the battlefield, but Julius recognized one of them almost immediately.
Crypian Thorne.
The man’s speed was terrifying. Julius could barely track his movements as he crossed the battlefield, and the next moment, blood began rising from the corpses of the fallen Zlycons below, gathering around Crypian as he moved toward another Zlycon warrior.
"Ah, damn it!"
Julius immediately turned toward the direction of the 101st Treasure Tower.
They had already lost the advantage of time, and every second they remained here increased the chances of being caught in whatever was about to happen.
Julius took a step forward, but Alfred immediately grabbed his arm.
"Young Master, you shouldn’t go."
Julius looked back at him.
Alfred’s expression was unusually serious. Even he seemed to understand that the situation had changed completely.
Julius clenched his teeth. He had been trying to avoid thinking about it.
Ever since Destiny had told him about the future, he had deliberately pushed that information to the back of his mind. Thinking about it made his head hurt, and there had been too many things happening since then for him to properly process everything at once.
But now there was no escaping it. Everything Destiny had warned him about was beginning to unfold.
Earlier Destiny had hinted that there would not be much time before the gods were released. She had even given him an event that would serve as a countdown.
The hint was most likely this!
The attack on the Zlycons, this was that event. Julius had expected it to happen eventually, but he had never imagined it would come this soon.
And now that it had happened, he no longer had the luxury of waiting.
"Alfred."
Julius’s voice became unusually serious.
"You don’t know what’s coming. In truth, no one here knows."
His gaze shifted toward the battlefield.
Nathaniel and Chakravartin were still clashing in the sky, their attacks shaking the surrounding space. Victor was fighting another powerful Zlycon, while Crypian continued moving through the battlefield with terrifying speed. Around them, countless civilians were still trying to escape the destruction.
"They’ll realize it soon enough," Julius continued, his expression darkening beneath his hood. "All of them will. But by the time they understand what’s actually happening, it might already be too late."
He looked toward Alfred again.
"So I don’t have a choice anymore."
Julius pulled his arm free and turned toward the direction of the 101st Treasure Tower.
"If you want to help, then come with me."
