"Teachers, have all the scores been tallied and verified? If there are no issues, we will proceed with class assignments based on these scores."

The next day, the class assignments were posted on four display boards at the school gate.

The top of the four display boards were marked with the letters A, B, C, and D, corresponding to the four classes. Class A was the best, and D Class was the worst. This class assignment would not change for 3 years. The content in the middle listed the students' names. Finding one's name under a letter meant being assigned to that class.

When I arrived, a large crowd of students had already gathered, some joyful, some worried, creating a lively scene.

I naturally went to the display board marked with the letter D first, and then immediately saw Toke's name at the very bottom.

Just as I thought. I hope he isn't too disheartened. Even if it's the worst class, this is still the Royal School. It shouldn't be too bad.

I looked around the crowd, but Toke wasn't there. Since we hadn't arranged to come together, we might have missed each other.

First, I'll look for my own name. Looking up from Toke's name…

There was another column of names on the left. I continued searching…

Still not there.

I repeatedly checked all the names under the D display board several times, but my name wasn't there.

I had vaguely thought before that the rumours will downgrade my rank and there was a possibility to be in the same class as Toke.

This is… truly regrettable.

With a feeling of disappointment, I went to the C display board and quickly scanned the names arranged in two columns.

Huh?

That's strange.

My name still wasn't there.

I looked more carefully; it really wasn't there.

Surely, the teachers didn't forget to write my name due to an oversight.

I hurried to the B display board and quickly scanned it.

I found the familiar name, Shinika.

That battle maniac was assigned to Class B, huh?

Not that it matters.

But I still didn't find my name.

No, no way…

I shifted my gaze to the Class A display board, cold sweat breaking out.

I didn't want to confirm, but I had to. I slowly walked over, still holding onto the thought that there must have been some mistake.

I rubbed my eyes.

There shouldn't be a second student named Robert among the new students enrolling this year.

I squinted, shielding the sunlight with my hand, trying to see more clearly.

"You're… joking, right?"

The very short name "Robert" was prominently listed among the first names on the Class A display board.

I stared at my name for a long time. No matter how many times I looked, it never changed into someone else's name.
