Chapter 139: The Inferno Prison Secret Realm Opens! Entering the Land of Flames! [3]

The mountains, the camp, and the surrounding professionals disappeared almost simultaneously, replaced by an expanse of constantly intertwining crimson light.

Immediately afterward, a scorching wave of heat rushed toward him!

Whoosh!

Victor’s feet once again touched solid ground.

He raised his head slowly.

Before him stretched an entirely unfamiliar crimson world.

The sky was a gloomy orange-red, and the mountain ranges stretching into the distance looked as though they had been dyed by raging flames. Thin streams of lava flowed between vast stretches of exposed black rock, while farther away, several enormous volcanoes could even be seen continuously spewing black smoke.

Dense fire-element mana filled practically every inch of the surrounding space.

"So this is the Inferno Prison Secret Realm..." Victor slowly took a breath.

The temperature of the air was far higher than outside, and the ground continuously radiated heat. Without sufficient protective measures, ordinary professionals would probably find it difficult to remain active in such an environment for extended periods.

However, for Victor, who possessed High Level Fire Element Affinity, such a concentration of fire elements actually made the mana within his body even more active.

Of course, fire-element affinity did not mean complete immunity to high temperatures. If he truly approached the churning lava, he would still need to rely on mana or equipment for protection.

Before making any move, Victor first checked his equipment, then examined the surrounding terrain. Only after confirming that there were no obvious dangers nearby did he take out the map Evelyn had prepared.

Because of the secret realm entrance’s teleportation mechanism, entrants would not all appear in the same location.

At the very least, he could not see any other professionals around him at the moment.

That was not necessarily a bad thing.

It saved him from having to compete with others for resources right from the get-go.

Comparing the outlines of the mountain ranges with the map, he roughly determined that he should currently be somewhere in the outer region of the secret realm. The nearest area known to produce High-Purity Fire Element Cores was still quite some distance away.

As for the high tier natural flame, if one existed, it would most likely lie even deeper inside.

"I should familiarize myself with the environment first."

Victor put away the map.

Then, he retrieved his weapon from his storage ring.

The Epic-grade longsword—Crimson Flame Fang!

The moment the dark crimson blade was exposed to the air, it produced a faint resonance with the dense fire elements in the surroundings, and a thin layer of crimson light appeared across its surface.

Victor tightened his grip around the sword’s hilt and was just about to continue along the valley when a faint rustling sound suddenly reached his ears.

Rustle...

His Combat Intuition issued a warning almost simultaneously, stopping him in his tracks.

The next moment, a lizard-like magical beast measuring nearly three meters in length suddenly crawled out from behind an enormous crimson boulder ahead.

Its entire body was covered in thick dark-red scales, its four limbs were powerful, and several sharp bone spikes protruded from the end of its tail. When it slightly opened its mouth, scorching breath could be seen continuously escaping from within.

[Name: Crimson-Armored Fire Lizard]

[Level: 25]

[Life Tier: First Tier]

[Attribute: Fire]

[Characteristics: Possesses strong adaptability to fire elements, excellent defensive scales, and specializes in close-range lunging attacks and high-temperature breath attacks.]

"Level 25?"

Victor examined the magical beast before him.

He had only just entered the secret realm, yet he had already encountered a fire-attribute magical beast two levels higher than himself!

The Crimson-Armored Fire Lizard had clearly discovered him as well.

It lowered its body, releasing a deep hiss from its throat. Its thick tail repeatedly struck the ground while its scaled hind limbs gradually tensed.

The next instant,

Whoosh!

Its enormous body suddenly lunged forward like a cannonball!

Just as its enormous mouth filled with sharp teeth was about to bite into Victor, he stepped sideways, his body narrowly avoiding the Crimson-Armored Fire Lizard’s attack trajectory.

Boom!

The magical beast slammed headfirst into the rock behind him, sending fragments of stone flying in every direction.

However, before it could readjust its body, the Crimson Flame Fang in Victor’s hand had already swung out!

Heaven Burning Sword Art!

Flame Line!

Crimson fire elements instantly gathered along the blade, and the flames that had originally been spreading outward rapidly condensed into a concentrated line of fiery energy.

Immediately afterward, Victor slashed forward, sending highly concentrated fire-attribute mana along the edge of his sword toward the junction between the scales on the Crimson-Armored Fire Lizard’s neck!

Slash!

Blood splattered into the air.

The hard scales were directly torn apart by the strike. The Crimson-Armored Fire Lizard’s enormous body trembled violently before crashing heavily to the ground.

Thud!

A cloud of dust rose from the ground.

Victor took half a step back to avoid the splattering blood. However, he did not immediately put away his sword, instead continuing to observe the creature for a moment.

Only after confirming that the magical beast had completely lost its ability to resist did he withdraw his weapon.

"That was easy." Victor lowered his head and glanced at the Crimson Flame Fang.

He had not invested much mana into that strike, but because the power of Flame Line had been compressed into a more concentrated form, combined with the natural sharpness of the Epic-grade longsword, he had still successfully pierced the weakest junction between the Crimson-Armored Fire Lizard’s scales.

If it had been his previous self, he might have achieved the same result, but the amount of mana consumed would definitely not have been so low.

Furthermore, he had also discovered that in an environment with such an exceptionally high concentration of fire elements, the mana circulation required for the Heaven Burning Sword Art was even smoother than outside.

Victor, however, had no intention of testing the technique further just yet.

After all, he had yet to fully understand the surrounding environment, nor was he certain whether other magical beasts were nearby.

He walked over to the Crimson-Armored Fire Lizard’s corpse and used the Crimson Flame Fang to cut open the scales near its chest. Before long, he extracted a thumb-sized crimson crystal from within.

The crystal contained a certain amount of fire-attribute mana, but its purity was clearly far below the requirements of a High-Purity Fire Element Core.

"An ordinary Fire Crystal."

Victor placed it in his storage ring.

Although it could not be used to evolve his fire-element affinity, it was still a material that could be exchanged for gold coins.

Afterward, he stood up again and looked toward the distant mountain ranges.

There, scorching air currents continuously rose between the crimson valleys, several streams of lava slowly flowed along the black rock walls, and farther away, the deep roars of magical beasts could occasionally be heard.

Holding the Crimson Flame Fang, Victor once again confirmed his direction on the map.

If he could successfully pass through the valley ahead, he would gradually approach the first region where High-Purity Fire Element Cores were likely to appear.

With that thought, he no longer lingered and began walking forward along the valley, his figure gradually disappearing between the crimson rocks.
