Looking at her face, which stared dead silently back at him, Alden couldn’t help but feel nervous.

So why did he guess that she might be Lia? First of all, every time he stood beside her, he unnaturally felt no discomfort. Even though she was the daughter of an SS-ranker, he never felt the need to show extreme respect when conversing with her. He always unconsciously acted like he already knew her. He felt like he instinctively understood her.

‘It is just my wild guess. But if there is even a sliver of a chance that she might be the exact same girl, then…’

Alicia looked at him with a constant, piercing gaze. She didn’t speak immediately. She searched his face for any hint of familiarity, but she couldn’t help but feel confused. She frowned, and a sharp hint of caution appeared in her eyes as she coldly asked the question.

“Wait, who are you?!”

Alden’s eyes widened at her reaction. He felt utterly confused, not knowing what to make of her sudden change in expression.

“Are you really her or not?”

Alicia narrowed her eyes as she took a slow step forward. The coldness radiating from her body deepened significantly.

“Who is that girl? Why is she coming into my dreams?! Do you know her?! Who exactly are you?!”

Alden forced his expression to stay calm, not knowing what to say anymore. Now the situation became much more complicated. Was she Lia or not? Maybe he was the one making this situation much more complicated than it needed to be.

“Sorry, let’s just forget it.”

“No! I do not want that as an answer! I want to hear the truth! So spill it!”

Alden turned his face away, not wanting to look into her demanding eyes.

But Alicia didn’t back down. She pushed him hard against the wall of a nearby building. Her cold eyes glared right at him. Frost started to leak rapidly from her pale hand, forming a sharp spike of ice that rested directly against his throat.

“Are you going to speak, or not?”

Alden stared at her as the sharp tip of the ice spike dug slightly into his skin, making him realize she wasn’t joking around. He met her eyes and spoke softly.

“What do you see in your dreams?”

A long silence surrounded the empty street. She looked into his eyes, carefully considering something. The sharp ice spike still rested on his throat, but the freezing coldness in her eyes receded just a little bit.

“I am not particularly sure… But every day, whenever I fall asleep, I see fragmented, unfamiliar memories of a girl named Lia. I see flashes of her life. I haven’t been able to align them properly because every time I sleep, I only see small fragments. But it has disturbed my life quite a bit.”

She paused, taking a shaky breath.

“I haven’t been able to talk about such a crazy thing with anyone. When I told my father, he immediately summoned a high-rank healer, but even they failed to detect anything wrong with my mind. They just thought it was my illusion. But now, you are asking about that exact same girl! WHO IS SHE?”

Hearing her desperate answer, Alden didn’t know what to speak. On one hand, he thought about Lia, who had ignored him in his past life for quite a long time. He had contacted her through his phone but hadn’t been able to get any answer for days. But earlier a few days ago, when he checked his own phone, he saw her reply to his confession—sent on the exact day he was transmigrated.

So now he felt totally clueless about how to judge this situation. Was she the reason behind his transmigration into this world? If yes, then where is she right now? Why did she do that? And the main question: how the hell was she able to do such a god-like thing? Was she always a special, powerful being?

The more he thought about it, the more complicated he felt. It wasn’t that he couldn’t think of a straight way to judge the situation. But now that he realized Lia was somehow involved in this crazy story, he wasn’t sure if it was for better or for worse.

He looked at Alicia, who was still meeting his eyes, fiercely expecting him to answer her questions.

“She is the girl I love.”

Alicia narrowed her eyes. A frown appeared on her face as she muttered bitterly under her breath.

“Another b*tch…”

“Did you say something?”

Alicia shook her head. The sharp ice spike in her hand dissolved instantly, absorbing right back into her skin, she rested her hand gently on his shoulder.

“What now? Where is she now? Do you still like her?”

A complicated look appeared on his face. On one hand, he was very far away from his old world, not knowing if she was alright or not. He didn’t know if she had gotten into a relationship with another person after he vanished. He didn’t even know if she genuinely loved him or if she just replied out of pity.

“She is too far away for me to reach her now… But maybe yes, I still love her.”

Her grip on his shoulder tightened like a vice. A smile appeared on her face, not the kind, warm one she had been giving him for hours, but a dark, chilling smile that spoke volumes about her mental state.

“So, you still love her. So what now? Will you search for her? Go back to her and settle down in life? What about me?!”

She blurted the words out without realizing it in the rush of the moment. She quickly stopped herself, pressing her lips tightly together.

Alden couldn’t help but notice her desperate, broken gaze. She looked at him as if he was the only anchor in her life keeping her sane.

“Alicia…”

“Shut up!”

Before he could say another word, she leaned forward, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. She closed whatever distance was left between them, and her soft lips met his.

A look of surprise flashed in his eyes, but it instantly died down as her kiss became fiery and possessive. Without thinking, he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulled her flush against his chest, closed his eyes, and replied with the same amount of passion as her.

It was a passionate, hungry kiss, filled with deep longing. Alicia wasn’t even sure if this moment was real or just another dream, but she focused entirely on the feeling, leaving whatever complicated thoughts she had in the back of her mind.

After what felt like half an hour passing in the outside world, they finally pulled back, gasping for air. A thin thread of saliva still bonded their lips.

Alden immediately pulled himself out of her total control, trying to bring some semblance of rational thought back to his brain. He wiped his lips. A bright red flush climbed up his neck and spread across his face, making him look away, not daring to meet her eyes.

Completely contrasting his flustered expression, Alicia just stared at him with an intense gaze. A satisfied, smug expression plastered across her beautiful face. She stepped forward again, moving to face him directly while tilting her face up to meet his gaze.

“Was it better than the one you had with Syrene?”

Alden froze stiff. The moment her words dropped, he snapped his head to meet her gaze. There was an undeniable sense of jealousy burning in her expression.

“Wait! It is not what you think! I-I didn’t—”

“Quiet! I do not want to hear any of your cheap excuses. I do not care what happened between you and that b*tch! I do not care if you loved someone named ‘Lia’ in the past. In this life, you are entirely mine!”

Her intense eyes bore into him, and a hint of pure obsession appeared in her gaze. This time, she didn’t dare to hide it. She didn’t want to. If she hid it, she would only be pretending in this relationship. She didn’t want to hide her real self. Hiding it would only mean she was lying to herself.

She stepped even closer, her hands reaching out to cup his face.

“You are mine to love. Mine to touch. Mine to kiss. Mine to hug. Mine to hold. Mine to cherish. Mine to possess. You are mine in every sense of the word, Alden. And I won’t let anyone, not even your past, take you from me!”

Alden felt a chill run down his spine at her bold words and freezing touch. He felt a strong urge to pull back, but if he did, he didn’t know if he would ever be able to reach her again.

He didn’t know if she was Lia reincarnated or some other person entirely. But he understood one thing right now: he felt truly alive for the first time in his life.

Even in his past life, he was just living a constant, boring routine. This new life was exactly the same at first—with no one to cherish, no one to genuinely love, and no one to care for. But now, seeing someone who didn’t care about his messy present, his complicated past, or his uncertain future, but only cared about him, he couldn’t help but feel a familiar stir in his heart as his chest tightened warmly.

A soft smile appeared on his lips—a real, genuine one for the first time in forever. All of his worries about the past vanished as he focused entirely on the current moment he was living.

“Are you sure you want that? My life is incredibly complicated. I always fall into crazy trouble. My life is much more difficult than you think.”

A satisfied smile appeared on her lips. She leaned over, kissed his chin softly, and pulled back to look right into his eyes.

“My own life is difficult to handle too, but I do not mind sharing that burden with you. So, will you be mine?”

Alden paused. He didn’t speak immediately, making her eyes dilate in sudden fear. Her lips tightened, and she almost bit them hard in anxiety.

But instead of answering with boring words, he just closed the distance between them and pecked her soft lips lightly.

She blinked slowly, totally caught off guard by his sudden, sweet action. Her lips curled up as a bright smile broke across her face.

“Hehe… I am not easily satisfied with just a simple peck!”

Before he could answer, she was already on him again, kissing him hard and making him stumble back against the wall.

They stood there in the silent, moonlit street, embracing each other tightly. They didn’t know if their union was going to bring a brand new pile of trouble or solve both of their life’s difficulties. But whatever crazy things life decided to throw at them, they would ultimately face it together.
