Chapter 345: Chapter 307: Limited Tickets

"I got them from someone else, too," Little Ha said.

Wanai held up a card and asked him, "Do you know where the photos came from?"

Little Ha found his question a bit strange, but fearing he’d be thrown back into the detention room, he didn’t dare defy the security officers. He answered honestly, "The photos... I think my bo— I mean, other sellers clipped them from Yuanbao’s videos."

"Yuanbao?" Wanai’s gaze fell on the card. The little female on it was wearing a mask, revealing only a pair of bright, round eyes.

’Her name is Yuanbao? Isn’t it Gu Ning?’

"What video?" he asked again.

Little Ha was stunned again. He snickered inwardly. ’Could this guy be a rookie?’

’To think I got caught by a rookie from the Security Department. What rotten luck.’

"Bro, you don’t go online?" Little Ha knew some Beastmen didn’t like the internet, but was this guy really out here catching people without even doing his homework?

"Not interested," Wanai said, flipping through the stack of cards.

Most of the cards were duplicates. Only five were different photos of her, and the beast ears on her head and the tail showing behind her were different in each.

Wanai’s brow furrowed.

"She’s the most popular virtual female online." Little Ha enthusiastically pulled up one of Yuanbao’s videos and showed it to him. "Look, isn’t she cute?"

When Wanai saw the familiar figure in the video, his heart skipped a beat.

Seeing him staring blankly at the video, Little Ha thought, ’Looks like he just doesn’t like going online, not that he dislikes virtual females.’ He seized the chance to cozy up to him. "Bro, if you like them, you can have all these cards. I promise I’ll never do this again. Just let me off the hook."

Wanai glanced at him. "None from the Leopard Clan?"

"Nope. You can go to the Gu Demiao Ning account and bug him to make a Leopard Clan Yuanbao, but that guy hasn’t been online for a few days," Little Ha said.

After watching the video, Wanai noted the website and the account name that posted it. He clutched the five cards in his hand and said, "Do you have any limited-edition tickets?"

Little Ha asked, "What limited-edition tickets?"

He realized this Leopard had been asking him for limited-edition *tickets*, not Yuanbao’s "limited-edition" cards.

Wanai said, "The limited-edition seasonal ticket you gave to that wolf with the Mixed Breed."

Little Ha remembered. "Oh, them. I just gave him a regular one-way ticket. The special seasonal tickets sold out at the start of winter. I don’t have any of those rare things."

He sold Yuanbao’s photos by capitalizing on the Beastmen’s fanatical adoration for her. For some well-off Beastmen, it was just a little pocket change.

But for niche items like that, which had clear markers of authenticity, you could only sell them to specific groups of collectors.

He and his boss had been scalping things at the train station and in Zone 15 for a while. They’d wanted to get their hands on some of those tickets to sell, but he couldn’t out-compete the Beastmen who were specifically trying to buy them for their collections. It was more trouble than it was worth. It was better to just use a gimmick to resell female-related items. Just two successful sales would be enough to buy the Degeneration Inhibitors he needed to get through the entire winter.

Coincidentally, the virtual female Yuanbao had become extremely popular over the past two months, so his boss had him get into this business.

His boss had said that if Yuanbao weren’t just a virtual female, they’d have definitely used her as a gimmick to create some "limited-edition" items and sell them at a high price.

But it was also a good thing Yuanbao was a virtual female. Otherwise, if he got caught, it wouldn’t just be a matter of handing over the proceeds—he’d be thrown in prison.

That’s why his boss also told him to take it easy and not set the prices too high, lest they attract attention from the higher-ups. Otherwise, the consequences would be severe, even for a virtual female.

"A current-season limited-edition ticket is being scalped for over a dozen high-quality Crystal Coins right now. How could I possibly sell one to him for five hundred Beast Coins," Little Ha grumbled.

He didn’t have the money to scalp something that expensive anyway.

"Can you get them?" Wanai asked.

Little Ha’s ears perked up. "You like this stuff?"

Seeing the Leopard staring coldly at him, Little Ha immediately said, "Yes, yes, yes! But there are lots of different versions. It depends on which year and which zone you want."

"Also..." Little Ha glanced him up and down and added a reminder, "This stuff isn’t cheap. You’ll need to pay a deposit."

Wanai lifted his wrist, checked the time, and said, "Get as many as you can. I’ll pay you double."

"Alright! It’s a deal."

After they exchanged contact information and the deposit was paid, Wanai vanished from Little Ha’s sight in the blink of an eye.

Little Ha stared at the scattered Crystal Coins on the ground, realizing he hadn’t been arrested or fined. He quickly scooped up the coins and ran toward his stall, planning to pack up and go home as soon as his boss arrived.

Before he even reached the stall, Little Ha saw a red-furred fox sitting there from a distance.

Little Ha froze for a moment, then let out an excited "WOOF!" and dashed over. "Boss, Boss!"

Minoz had just been about to contact Little Ha. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw him return. "Didn’t I tell you to wait for me here? Why were you running around?"

Little Ha stuck out his tongue and wagged his tail. "I saw you hadn’t contacted me yet, so I thought I’d sell a few more Yuanbao cards. Today I made..."

"COUGH!!!" Before Little Ha could finish, Minoz cut him off with a loud cough and hissed, "You stupid dog, shut up."

"Selling what?" a voice asked softly.

Little Ha followed the voice and only then noticed another red-haired Beastman with a high ponytail standing next to the stall.

"Woof?" Little Ha tilted his head. "Boss, who is he?"

’He smells weird.’

Minoz said, "He’s my boss."

"Huh?" Little Ha was confused for a second, then his eyes lit up. "Oh, I get it! You’re my boss’s brother!"

’Even though he smells strange, I can tell he’s a fox. A red-furred one, just like my boss.’

Barto walked up to him and pulled a card from the slashed satchel Little Ha was clutching.

"That’s our old stock," Minoz said, quickly snatching the bag from Little Ha. "We’re not doing this anymore."

Barto looked at the Fox Clan "Yuanbao" card in his hand, said nothing, and stuffed it into his pocket.

Gu Ning’s account didn’t have Level 5 verification or any official markings, so this kind of thing was impossible to completely stop.

Without Minoz and his crew, other Mixed Breeds would just do the same thing.

Besides, they were only selling in secret. The department and officials weren’t going to let it slide forever, but seeing as they were all fellow Mixed Breeds, he turned a blind eye.

"Where are the tickets I told you to get?" Minoz asked Little Ha.

"Got ’em, got ’em."

Little Ha stuck a paw into his pants and pulled out a stack of tickets.

The two foxes watched him dig around in his pants to pull something out. "..."

Minoz’s mouth twitched. "You dumb dog, where did you put the tickets?"

Little Ha scratched his head. "I was afraid I’d lose them, so I put them in the pocket inside my underwear."

Barto said slowly, "You sew pockets in your underwear?"

"Yep," Little Ha said. "I’m always losing things. This way, I never lose them."

Barto took a deep breath, pulled a bottle of deodorizer from his pocket, and sprayed the stack of tickets vigorously until they were almost damp. Only then did he take them and stride away, dialing Alex’s number as he walked.
