After unleashing the Spirit Control skill, the purple-gold magic power transformed into dreamy spirit butterflies that flew everywhere.

In less than a moment, they had occupied more than half of the arena.

Jeremy’s pupils sparkled under the influence of the magic power. A spirit butterfly obediently landed on his fingertip. The curve of Jeremy’s lips didn’t diminish as he infused spiritual energy into it.

Just as the audience was still somewhat confused, not understanding what Jeremy ultimately wanted to do, they saw the spirit butterfly actually dive underground, disappearing without a trace.

At the same time, the spirit butterflies that vanished from everyone’s sight were controlled by Jeremy to enter another dimension.

Asaro, hiding in the dark dimension, was a bit surprised when she saw the spirit butterflies. She didn’t expect Jeremy to actually be able to find her hiding place so quickly.

This Ghost Concealment skill had dual effects: one was “Heavenly Kill,” primarily for attacking, and the other was “Dark Dimension,” primarily for hiding.

In regular matches and during training outside, she had relied on this skill many times to challenge higher-level opponents, but looking at it now… this move was useless against Jeremy.

Asaro slightly raised the scythe in her hand, slashing the approaching spirit butterfly.

Just as she was about to reveal herself to face him head-on, the moment she moved, a hand suddenly pressed onto her shoulder from behind.

“!”

Realizing Jeremy was approaching, Asaro’s pupils shrank slightly.

How could this be… When on earth did he infiltrate this dimension?

Countless questions arose, but Asaro didn’t have time to think deeply. Right before the magic power invaded her body, she quickly used an instantaneous teleportation skill to widen the distance.

The scythe spun, borrowing the momentum for a horizontal slash.

The opponent didn’t dodge at all. The purple magic power passed through the body in front of her, turning into shattered magical light fragments.

An illusion…

Asaro realized something, raising her hands to form seals and unleashing a magic array.

The array formation surfaced, and the spirit butterflies hovering around were instantly controlled.

But very quickly, they broke free from their shackles, turning into “phantoms” identical to Jeremy.

Just as a sentence popped into her mind, an aura of pressure descended upon her body, pressing down so hard her bones cracked.

Fresh blood seeped from her lips, and Asaro raised her hand to wipe the bloodstain. The moment she saw the three layers of magic power, all her doubts vanished.

She suddenly let out a soft chuckle.

It was very clear that from the moment the spirit butterflies infiltrated, control of this dimension, which originally belonged to her, had been seized by someone else.

What should she say… This guy’s growth speed was truly inhuman.

Using three skills stacked together, the magic power consumption at this level was extremely massive, yet he could still perfectly control every single skill.

Probably, aside from him, no one else in the entire academy dared to be this crazy.

Truly worthy of the Valmont family’s Dragon bloodline.

Continuing the stalemate was meaningless. Asaro lifted her scythe and slashed horizontally through the void, and the dark dimension dissipated following its master’s command.

Asaro’s figure returned to the arena, the black mist on the stage cleared, and the silhouettes of the two became clearly visible to the audience once again.

Jeremy leaned lazily against the white jade pillar by the arena. The moment Asaro stepped out, his figure instantaneously teleported next to his opponent. The Two-Realm Umbrella dissipated, and the freed Star Edge Card transformed into a longsword, thrusting toward Asaro.

Asaro didn’t dodge at all, standing still in place, not a single ripple on her face. The moment the longsword was about to pierce her vital spot, she raised two fingers to tightly clamp the blade.

Her fingertips were slender, but the force was as heavy as a thousand pounds.

Jeremy also didn’t intend to just thrust it down like that.

He looked up at the young girl in front of him, smiling and saying: “Found you.”

“Say, does this count as my win?” Both his tone and expression were full of smiles, neither hiding the demeanor of a victor nor showing any arrogance.

Asaro looked at him, no displeasure in her eyes at all; conversely, there was a rare hint of a smile.

“Of course it counts.”

“You win.”

This answer made even Jeremy freeze.

Was this a joke? Or…

Asaro suddenly leaned closer, and Jeremy instinctively retracted the sword pointing at her heart.

Realizing this, Asaro loosened her fingertips slightly, allowing him to withdraw the sword.

She took a step forward, leaning down slightly, raising her hand to use her fingertip to wipe away the blood seeping from a magic power cut on Jeremy’s cheek, staring at him with a half-smile: “Couldn’t bear to hurt me?”

Did this guy know they were on the arena right now, and they were opponents… The corner of Jeremy’s mouth twitched slightly. Knowing she was joking, although helpless, he still played along with Asaro’s words: “You guessed it.”

At the same time he retreated, another type of weapon was already pointing at Asaro’s back.

From the corner of her eye, Asaro glanced at the card that had transformed into a feather blade behind her back, proactively dispelled her Sacred Weapon, and raised both hands: “I lose.”

In this match, Jeremy had never thought he would lose.

But… Asaro giving up halfway was something he hadn’t expected at all.

“Why?”

“Why what?” Asaro raised an eyebrow, “Don’t tell me you think I intentionally went easy on you?”

“No, I just think you’ve changed.” Jeremy still remembered that their previous few matches almost all ended in the tragic state of mutually assured destruction, with Asaro becoming crazier each time. Being this calm was actually somewhat strange.

Asaro shrugged, speaking as she walked off the arena: “Although our realms are the same, your magic power reserves are at least double mine. What benefit is there for me if we continue?”

The contracted beast had already announced the result, and the stands were buzzing with noise.

Jeremy paid no mind, striding after Asaro and joking: “Afraid I’ll take revenge in secret?”

Asaro stopped walking, turning to look at him: “Is there a grudge between us? Since when?”

Asaro wasn’t joking at all; conversely, she was extremely serious.

Seeing her seriousness, Jeremy smiled and waved his hand: “Just kidding. But you were so crazy those last few times, I thought this time would also end with both of us getting hurt.”

Asaro thought back.

…That was indeed the case.

Sometimes she fought so fiercely she lost her reason entirely.

Would that be considered crossing the line?

“If you’re angry, you can hit me back now.”

Jeremy: “?”

He was somewhat in disbelief, “What?”

“I told you to hit me back.” Asaro repeated, without any hint of joking, “I can consider not hitting back.”

Jeremy reached out to touch her forehead: “Do you have a fever, or were you possessed?”

A faint fragrance wafted over with the wind. Asaro paused for a beat, then immediately brushed his hand away and continued walking.

“Who would dare possess this princess?”

This was the first time Asaro referred to herself as a princess. Jeremy smiled and played along: “True. Thinking about it, probably no fool is bold enough to dare possess the star belonging to the Empire.”

The corner of Asaro’s eyebrow arched slightly, seemingly quite satisfied with this answer.

The atmosphere quieted down a bit. Suddenly, Asaro’s seemingly casual question rang out: “…Can we be considered friends?”

Not knowing why she suddenly asked this question, Jeremy naturally replied: “Aren’t we friends?”

“…(Chuckles) I asked a redundant question.”

Having received the answer, Asaro did not bring up this topic again.

The morning sunlight pierced through the layers of clouds. It was clearly a day with weather as normal as could be, but for some reason, today made one feel extremely comfortable…

For Asaro, killing and fighting could bring indulgent joy, temporarily killing boring time.

But strangely, at a certain moment, clearly away from the battlefield, like an ordinary person chatting with others about matters unrelated to interests, unexpectedly, she didn’t feel bored at all.

The word “joy” didn’t seem to be able to define the mood of that moment either.
