Warhammer: The 11th Primarch - The Black Emperor

Chapter 997 - 996: I Can Finally Cultivate All Sequence 5 Beyonders

  • Next Chapter

"Omegon" strode forward, warily scanning his surroundings.

Over the past thirty-seven minutes, the Shadows of Order had launched attack after attack.

Even after activating their full-spectrum camouflage, they still had not shaken off the Shadows of Order.

They were like wolves weaving through a steel jungle, constantly attacking from the wreckage of burning furnaces, collapsed ruins, and other such places.

As "Omegon" pondered, a projectile suddenly streaked past the corner of his eye.

Boom!

Before "Omegon" could react, his vision went black.

His chest exploded. His consciousness slowly sank into darkness.

'I am wearing the Father's armor, armor forged specifically for a Primarch. Why did a single bullet break through my defense?'

His vision blurred. He scanned the scarlet warning runes flashing on the tactical interface.

[Chest plate shattered.]

'That Librarian's earlier attack damaged the chest plate... but there was no visible damage. Why... how did he discover it?!'

"Omegon" slowly fell. He saw a black boot slam onto the ground, and then his consciousness was swallowed by darkness.

First Captain Thibaut of the Seventh Chapter strode forward. The "Reaper" kept pulling the trigger.

Lethal bullet after lethal bullet struck precisely at the weak points of the Headhunters' armor, "culling" enemy after enemy.

Bang-bang-bang!

In the Honor Guard members' hands, rolling molten streams devoured Mark VI power armor.

After picking up the crystallization of power granted by the Black Emperor, Thibaut walked to the massive corpse.

He recalled the battle just now and the data granted by the Black Emperor.

'Not the real Alpharius and Omegon, but an Alpha whose body was enlarged after drinking the Primarch's blood.'

'I should bring it back to face my lord.'

Three standard hours later, in the Primarch's office aboard the Shadow's Sovereignty.

Nareth listened to the report while gazing at the massive corpse laid out on the floor.

Light and shadow flickered in the Primarch's eyes as he examined the corpse from a supernatural perspective.

Omegon's appearance was peeled away bit by bit, like a coiling hydra slithering away.

A new face came into view.

He was almost identical to the twin Primarchs, lacking only a certain supernatural majesty that only Nareth could perceive.

Even among the Alphas who resembled the Primarchs, no one resembled them more than he did.

'Kel Silonius.'

Memories flowed through Nareth's mind. He thought to himself.

'I did not expect that Alpharius is not dead yet, but Silonius died first.'

Nareth remembered that the Alpha Legion had infiltrated the Sol System before the other traitor Legions.

With the help of the Legion's Librarians, Alpharius and Silonius had completed an exchange of bodies and consciousnesses.

Alpharius infiltrated Terra and awakened Helacro, the widower of the Hessen Cartel, to send Alpharius's offspring into Terra and carry out a secret operation.

Silonius, meanwhile, assumed the identity of Alpharius and commanded the main fleet of more than two hundred ships aboard the Alpha.

When Alpharius was killed by Rogal Dorn, Silonius immediately ordered a retreat and declared: "We are the Legion. We are one."

'Alpharius and Omegon should have had at least one of them come to the Eastern Galaxy to oversee the war against me'

'Where is he?'

'Hmm, he still has plans. If he were on Diamat, there would have been no need to exchange identities with Silonius.'

Nareth silently reached this conclusion in his mind. As he pondered, Thibaut spoke.

"That is how it happened. I killed the enemy commander and recovered the crystallization of power that You granted to the Court Baron."

"The one you killed was no nameless figure," Nareth said.

"He was Silonius, the third-ranking commander in the Alpha Legion, below only First Captain Ingo Pech and Second Captain Mathias Herzog."

"His death is the key point that decides the battle."

"He was the supreme commander who held all the plans and secret contact methods. Without his coordination and command, the Alphas will fall into fighting each on their own. We need only sweep them up one by one."

Thibaut glanced at the massive corpse. "No wonder he could kill a Court Baron."

Nareth raised a hand and beckoned. The "Pyromaniac's" beyonder characteristic fell into his palm.

Silonius had clearly realized the special nature of the Beyonder characteristic.

'Hmm, in a large-scale war, if victory is not won on the battlefield and the Court members do not recover them, Beyonder characteristics with unusual forms could potentially be discovered.'

'Fortunately, Beyonder characteristics cannot be used by outsiders who have no knowledge of the Beyonder system.'

First, the person who obtains one might not even realize that it is meant to be used to concoct a potion.

If an extracted Beyonder characteristic is not recovered in time, or if a Beyonder uses it for a long period and becomes spiritually connected to a certain object, it may merge with nearby weapons or other objects or if its own spiritual imprint is too strong, it could directly form a Sealed Artifact.

Obtaining one without knowing what it is, and without knowing how to separate the Beyonder characteristic, would make it impossible to use it to concoct a potion.

It would be even harder to take advantage of it.

Second, without the corresponding potion formula, successfully accomplishing this by luck was almost impossible.

After all, every Beyonder characteristic had two corresponding supplementary materials.

And if it was combined incorrectly with either non-potion materials or potion materials, death after drinking it would already be the best possible outcome.

Finally, even if someone somehow succeeded by sheer luck, if the potion was not a Sequence 9 potion but a Sequence 8 or higher potion, they would still die.

Potion materials in the Warhammer were even rarer, and the potions they produced were more potent. One had to advance step by step, climbing the pathway's sequence ladder.

As Nareth pondered, Arsena beside him spoke up in report.

"My lord, in accordance with Your orders, the three new-type grand cannons have been handed over to the Marshall of Ordnance."

"He has begun researching the methods to safely connect the interfaces and activate the grand cannons."

The grand cannons Diamat had forged for Horus were not only born in the Titan Forge; their structure also shared many similarities with Titans, including control interfaces.

Even for a veteran Techmarine, operating a grand cannon carried no small danger.

Seeing the Black Emperor give a slight nod, Arsena Dunn removed the box from his waist, broke the seal of the psychic wall, and reported.

"My lord, when the Fourth Chapter was clearing the forge occupied by the rebels, they discovered this crystal in the warehouse."

"The Court beyonders, upon seeing it, felt blazing light piercing through their armor and realized its special nature."

"After consulting the inventory records, they found that this diamond crystal is the very reason this planet got its name, and it is also an important raw material for the forge world."

Nareth raised a hand and beckoned. The pure, shining crystal fell into his palm.

It was burning hot to the touch, emitting a brilliant radiance and suffused with a sacred aura.

The "Mentor of Disorder" gazed at the overflowing psychic luster and matched the diamond in his palm with the pattern he had seen on the Blasphemy Slate.

Pure White Radiance Stone.

The main material for the Sun Pathway Sequence 5 "Priest of Light."

'I never imagined that besides the forge world and the grand cannons, there would be an unexpected harvest. With this, the last Sequence 5 potion material I lacked is also secured. I can finally cultivate all Sequence 5 Beyonders.'

'The "Priest of Light" is one of the most useful sequences at the moment when chaos rises.'

'Hmm, if not for the evolved "Mentor of Disorder" having the "Will Suppression" ability, even "one of" could be crossed out.'
