Wasteland Hideout: Upgrading from the Sewers

Chapter 652: Hogg, Hogg! The True Bloodsucking Werewolf Bloodline Awakens

  • Next Chapter

Awooo—

Go to hell—

Two low growls exploded in the air at the same time.

Two figures, both dyed blood-red, rapidly closed in from left and right, like two colliding blood-colored bullets.

They drew closer.

On the left was Black Ice’s mutated blood monster, on the right was Hogg, a Bloodsucking Werewolf fully boosted by blood energy and wild instinct.

Boom—

The two forces collided, sending a powerful shockwave rippling outward from the impact point. A blood-red blast wave swept the surroundings with a gust of wind pressure.

But this was just the beginning.

Bang, bang, bang—

The sounds of continuous impacts rang out.

Black Ice’s body was massive, but his attack speed was anything but slow.

His two palms moved up and down, forming a defensive net that sealed every gap tightly.

He blocked Hogg’s attacks one after another, while occasionally launching lethal counterstrikes.

Compared to Black Ice, Hogg’s physique was much smaller.

But his striking power and speed had already broken through the limits of ordinary understanding.

As he leaped and moved, his body was completely invisible—only faint red afterimages could be seen, barely perceptible to the eye.

He attacked Black Ice from every direction: above, below, left, and right.

But every attack was intercepted by Black Ice’s timely arm blocks.

Every collision between them sent small ripples of shockwaves spreading through the area.

When the drone transmitted this footage back to the command vehicle, Alpha’s breath nearly stopped.

A flicker of stunned blankness crossed his face, but he quickly regained his composure.

“Is this footage being recorded?”

“The monitoring feed activated auto-save when we set out, and all data has backup copies.”

Hearing the soldier’s report, Alpha nodded slightly, relief washing over him inside.

This was the Bloodsucking Werewolf’s first true battle.

The combat footage was extremely valuable. The biological research institute would surely extract more useful insights from it.

On the battlefield, Hogg’s fighting spirit and excitement reached their peak.

“Haha, this is it, this is it!”

Feeling the increasingly active wild power surging inside him, Hogg knew he had found the opportunity for another bloodline evolution.

He had originally thought that after becoming a Bloodsucking Werewolf, he would enter a long period of settling.

After all, his promotion to Silver-tier had heavily relied on luck.

But he never expected that in just his first battle, he would encounter an evenly matched player from the Bloodlands.

The bloodline aura of the Bloodlands had not only stirred up the genetic power belonging to Lilith within him but also fully awakened the wild power of the Wolf Clan.

With the combination of both forces working together, he had gained an unexpected breakthrough.

His wolf-like eyes fixed on Black Ice before him. Hogg’s pupils had completely turned blood-red.

The phantom of a “hungry wolf” behind him had grown clearer and more real.

Its connection with Hogg had grown tighter and tighter.

Even the Mechanical Armor on Hogg’s body, soaked in blood energy, began to show strange, twisting patterns.

These blood-red patterns spread across the armor, connecting, merging, and forming more intricate and complex designs.

The energy fluctuations from the armor gradually resonated and merged with the blood energy surging from Hogg, eventually becoming one.

Hogg felt it.

He felt the pulse of the armor’s core as if it were his own body.

As natural as moving his own limbs.

And just then—

All the blood-red patterns on the surface of the Mechanical Armor finally connected completely.

Awooo—

The blood-red phantom of the hungry wolf behind Hogg suddenly rose up, throwing its head back in a long howl.

The Mechanical Armor radiated a powerful red glow, echoing the hungry wolf’s call.

The next moment, the blood-red hungry wolf merged into the Mechanical Armor.

“Ahhh—”

Hogg let out an uncontrollable roar.

He felt a strand of bloodline power burst forth from every single cell in his body. This primal force, accumulating bit by bit, converged into a vast and massive wellspring of bloodline origin.

This origin did not belong to the Blood Duke’s bloodline, nor to the Wolf Clan’s.

It belonged to neither, yet it was intimately tied to both.

This was the true origin of the ‘Bloodsucking Werewolf’ bloodline, unique to itself.

It was no longer a product of forced genetic fusion, but an existence truly recognized and accepted by the Civilization Ladder.

This origin force tore apart all the muscles in his body and reassembled them to better match the demands of the Bloodsucking Werewolf bloodline. The process was incredibly fast.

But the excruciating pain and tearing sensation it generated were very real.

And all of this, Hogg had to endure alone.

Rumble—

A thunderclap exploded in the sky.

A blood-red lightning bolt struck down from above, its powerful energy forcing Black Ice, who had been fighting Hogg, to retreat.

The blood-red lightning slammed into Hogg.

Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh—

Energy ripples flared around Hogg. Blood-red lightning flashed repeatedly within those ripples.

The ground beneath Hogg’s feet began to crack. Gravel seemed to lose gravity, floating up from the surface before being crushed into ash by the surging energy.

Black Ice struggled to bring his body to a stop, only to realize that the spot where the blood-red lightning had struck him was carbonized.

Inside the command vehicle, Alpha was shouting.

“The drone! Why did we lose the drone’s feed?”

No sooner had he spoken than the backup drone’s footage switched in.

But this time, the drone was clearly positioned far from the battlefield.

Even Hogg and Black Ice’s figures could only be seen vaguely.

Alpha didn’t care about that now, though.

Because above Hogg and Black Ice, a swirling mass of blood-red mist had condensed.

Within this mist, bolts of blood-red lightning flashed continuously, striking down from time to time.

Alpha’s mouth fell open, his expression frozen in shock.

He seemed to understand why the earlier drone feed had suddenly gone black.

“Can we move closer?”

“If we get any closer, the energy interference will likely destroy the drone.”

Hogg’s roar died down. The process of his body tearing apart and reassembling was complete.

His form had also undergone subtle changes.

His height had dropped back to under two meters. The fangs in his mouth had grown longer and sharper, and his claws gleamed with a dark red light.

The most obvious change was his Mechanical Armor, which had completely transformed. The original metallic silver had turned into a black and red interweave.

Prominent patterns of the ‘hungry wolf’ bulged across its surface. A blood-red cape spread behind him, emblazoned with the image of a hungry wolf.

Looking closely, one would realize that the hungry wolf pattern was none other than Hogg himself.

Feeling the surging power within him, Hogg’s gaze locked onto Black Ice, who was watching from a distance, clearly unsettled.

A ferocious grin spread across his face.

Without unnecessary words, without extra fanfare.

He expressed his intent with the simplest, most straightforward action.

The real fight had only just begun.

A red afterimage flickered, and Hogg had already vanished from his spot.

The next moment, he was hovering directly above Black Ice.

His body stretched, his right hand pulled back into a charging position, and a blood-red claw manifested in his grasp.
