Chapter 318: Abilities Of Lilith
"No way?"
"Did I hear wrong? Director Lilith actually called this person a Big Shot?"
"Isn’t that obvious? You must have heard wrong."
"Didn’t you see that Director Lilith was only slightly deferential to the Official Shelter? This unknown young man is indeed a bit impressive, but not to this extent."
In fact, not only were the Survivors below discussing it, but Snape and Evan from the Official Shelter, who were also standing in the front row, also showed puzzled expressions.
Among powerful forces, if they didn’t know each other very well, they would at least know each other’s origins.
Lilith clearly knew this sudden unfamiliar team, and even called him a Big Shot.
But neither Snape nor Evan, after observing for a long time, could recognize which force this group belonged to.
Evan was fine, just a little curious, while Snape on the other side rolled his eyes.
Then he subtly looked at a subordinate behind him.
The subordinate understood, nodded, and then spoke, "Hey kid, which force are you from? Everyone here is for the auction. You acting all mysterious makes us feel very insecure."
"Hurry up and take off your mask!"
As he spoke, he reached out to take off Vikram’s gas mask.
However, he didn’t even get close.
"Bang!"
A loud bang suddenly erupted in the crowd!
The person who had just spoken hadn’t even touched the corner of Vikram’s clothes before being punched into Snape’s team.
His face was covered in blood, his entire nose bridge had caved into his head, and he lay on the ground unconscious.
Ron twisted his wrist, took off his goggles, and glared at Snape’s team with an unfriendly expression.
"Don’t just command your subordinates. If you’re so capable, why don’t you, the Shelter leader, try it yourself?"
As these words came out, the crowd immediately burst into an uproar!
"Hiss, where on earth are these Survivors from? They’re not even giving Green Wind Shelter any face?"
"Punching Snape’s subordinate down right in front of him, and still daring to openly challenge Snape?"
"Even if you gave me ten times the courage, I wouldn’t dare."
This series of actions happened in an instant, so fast that even Lilith didn’t have time to react.
Looking at Vikram, who did not deny it, Lilith’s heart was already surging like a stormy sea.
Ignoring Lilith, who stood before him with a look of disbelief.
Vikram slightly turned his head, his normally placid face under the mask becoming intrigued as he spotted an acquaintance.
Just now, as the group approached, he only felt that this Wasteland auction was livelier than expected.
However, he hadn’t paid any attention to the identities of the Survivors present.
Now, after Ron’s shout, Vikram turned his head and discovered Snape, standing on the left with an ashen face.
"Oh, isn’t that Brother Snape?"
"What a coincidence, wouldn’t you say?"
"I was originally planning to visit you at Green Wind Shelter after the auction, but I didn’t expect to run into you here."
"It was all a misunderstanding just now; I didn’t recognize Brother Snape immediately. My apologies." Vikram’s tone was laced with a smile. The six-person team still wore their masks, and Ron had only removed his goggles.
So he was certain that the other party hadn’t recognized him.
After all, they had only met once via video communication; they weren’t exactly familiar.
Vikram said with a teasing tone, his hand not-so-politely patting the other’s shoulder.
He didn’t plan to kill him now. With so many people around, it was clearly not a good time to act.
However, this didn’t stop him from toying with this ’good neighbor’ who had repeatedly come to his territory to cause trouble.
Sure enough, as soon as Vikram spoke, Snape’s dark expression eased slightly.
It was replaced by more confusion.
"Oh?"
"Who exactly is this brother? Do we know each other?"
It was true that he had initiated the attack earlier. Even though he had been publicly ridiculed, he wasn’t in the right.
The directors of these major powers might not be good at other things, but they usually didn’t neglect superficial courtesies.
Seeing that this group of well-equipped individuals seemed to know him, Snape could only put away his sour face.
"If you are indeed an acquaintance, please state your name, so I can apologize for my subordinates’ impoliteness just now."
Snape smiled faintly, pretending to be magnanimous despite his subordinates lying beaten on the ground.
Vikram was momentarily stunned, his face under the mask full of suppressed laughter. He thought to himself, ’This old geezer, he’s so good at pretending. You really get carried away, don’t you?’
Looking at the other party’s calm demeanor, Vikram thought for a moment, and a good idea suddenly popped into his head.
’Let’s see if you can still smile later.’
After suppressing his laughter for a while, Vikram was silent for a moment before saying seriously, "Brother Snape you truly are a busy man with a short memory. Have you forgotten your little brother so quickly?"
"Didn’t we trade every day a while ago? What? Brother Snape doesn’t remember so soon?"
"A while ago?"
"Traded every day?"
Hearing this, Snape repeated Vikram’s words and looked at the Survivor beside him.
"Andy, which Survivors have we been trading with frequently recently?" As a Shelter with a very wide sphere of influence, Green Wind Shelter had transactions happening every day.
With the other party saying this, he really couldn’t recall which specific Survivor he had dealings with, so he could only ask Andy, who was responsible for managing most of the Shelter’s affairs.
After hearing a list of names from Andy and questioning Vikram about each one, the answers were, of course, all incorrect.
At this point, even Snape, as slow as he was, realized something was wrong.
"Are you messing with me?" The words again came from Snape’s mouth, but this time his tone was clearly not as calm as before.
Snape was never a good person. The only reason he had wasted so much time being polite was because he coveted Vikram’s equipment and vehicle.
His idea was that if he really knew such a person, he would put on a friendly face and build a good relationship, then later he might find a way to take all of Vikram’s coveted possessions.
But now, through the thick goggles, Snape had already clearly seen the undisguised look of mockery in the other’s eyes after he spoke those words.
"Brother Snape, you shouldn’t say such things. We did indeed have several days of transactions."
"Perhaps your subordinate missed some details and didn’t recall them. Why don’t you think about it again?"
No sooner had he spoken than Snape himself stopped thinking, assuming Vikram was still toying with him.
Andy beside him, however, widened his eyes and pointed at Vikram across from them.
"It’s you!" Andy remembered that period when someone delivered meat chunks every day. He immediately turned and told Snape his realization.
Before Andy could finish speaking, Snape’s forehead had already turned red with urgency upon hearing the name Vikram.
"Haha, Brother Snape, you’re getting old and your memory isn’t as good as your subordinate’s. I told you I wasn’t lying, didn’t I?"
"Oh, by the way, I still have some of your son left at home that I haven’t delivered yet."
"Remember to remind me to give it to you these next two days, otherwise, it’ll start to stink if it stays at home."
As Vikram spoke, he made a gesture of pinching his nose in disgust through his mask.
Lilith had been confused by their conversation, but when she heard the words ’son’ and ’meat chunks’ combined, she immediately understood what had happened.
As the organizer of the auction, the event had already been delayed by a few minutes because of the two parties. If they started fighting on site again, and her hard-won esteemed guests were scattered in chaos, then she would have failed as the director of such a large Shelter.
Lilith snapped her fingers, and thirty Survivors, both male and female, emerged from the door behind her.
Before the furious Snape could pull out a gun and shoot in public, the two groups were separated.
Vikram, blocked by a crowd, didn’t care. He hadn’t planned to act on the spot anyway, so he cooperated and retreated.
But Snape was different. It wasn’t until twenty Survivors all stepped forward to block him that he finally managed to control his emotions.
"I apologize, esteemed guests, there’s been a slight mishap."
"Nevertheless, I declare the auction officially open. Please, esteemed guests, follow me inside."
Lilith tried to speak faster, fearing that Snape might lose control.
After she finished, another welcoming party emerged from the door, and the crowd who had been waiting outside for a long time finally entered the Shelter.
However, most of the Survivors seemed not to have had enough, still staring intently at Snape and Vikram and the others before entering.
Some time later.
After Lilith offered her sincere apologies to both of them, as the two most unruly groups present, they naturally entered last.
It’s worth mentioning that the architecture of Crimson Desire Shelter was just ordinary stone buildings.
The only special thing was that this Shelter was the largest one Vikram had seen since he started venturing into the Wasteland.
He estimated it had to be at least nearly a thousand square meters, not to mention it wasn’t just one floor; most of it had two stories.
"This Lilith really has something going on." He secretly admired her in his heart.
Such a large building, even if it was all piled stone, required an immense amount of manpower, material resources, and financial resources.
For her to be able to run such a large ’brothel’ in the Wasteland, she must not have been an ordinary Shelter before getting into this line of work.
