Chapter 348: Chapter 196: Mortal Medical Compendium
Xu Ran looked directly at her, nodded firmly, and said softly, "Because I was so worried about your safety."
Yue Qingyu watched him in silence. After a long moment, she suddenly remarked, "Xiaoque’Er is truly fortunate."
"What?" Xu Ran was confused.
Yue Qingyu chuckled lightly and said, "If it hadn’t been for Xiaoque’Er back then, I certainly wouldn’t have given you a cultivation method or made that agreement with you."
"I was worried she would be unhappy if I refused you."
Her gaze rested on Xu Ran, a smile on her face. "You must feel very fortunate to have met me back then, don’t you?"
Xu Ran nodded without the slightest hesitation. "Of course. If I hadn’t met you, I might not have this peaceful life. I’ve been very happy and at peace during my time in the Sect."
’He was telling the truth. Every Sect has a different culture. If he hadn’t met Senior Sister Yue, he might have joined another sect, but whether he would have such a carefree and peaceful life—or if he would have even survived this long—was far from certain.’
’As far as he knew, internal competition in most sects of the Cultivation Realm was incredibly fierce. In Demon Sects like the one Zhao Wuyang belonged to, it could only be described as brutal.’
’The Profound Pure Sect, by contrast, was in a remote region and was the most powerful in the area. Not only did it face fewer threats, but it also possessed an ancient, chivalrous tradition. This was the true reason he was able to live his current life.’
’If he had ended up in another sect, forget about Shennong or the founder of the Flying Immortal Stream—it was doubtful he would have even survived to this day.’
Hearing Xu Ran’s reply, Yue Qingyu nodded gently and said,
"I understand how you feel. But for me, meeting you was also a great fortune."
"Perhaps it’s the most fortunate thing that has happened on my path of cultivation."
"The modern-day Shennong, the founder of the Flying Immortal Stream, and now... this method to resolve the world’s affliction. Each one of these things has the power to change the fate of the entire Cultivation Realm, and they all came from our Profound Pure Sect. How incredibly fortunate we are..."
She looked at Xu Ran and said with great sincerity, "Thank you for allowing me to meet you."
As she finished speaking, a smile blossomed on her face.
It was night, and they were sitting in the courtyard. The moment she smiled, Xu Ran felt the whole night brighten. The world was filled with the gentle glow of the moon, until at last, all of it seemed to gather upon the graceful, white-robed figure before him.
It made one wonder if the moonlight itself was beautiful, or if the person before him was what made the moonlight so enchanting.
Xu Ran sighed inwardly.
Afterward, Yue Qingyu asked him for the details of his method for resolving the world’s affliction. The Creation Sect had announced it as an invitation to all cultivators, but in truth, they had already performed a preliminary analysis and confirmed that the method was viable.
Thus, the invitation was extended only to cultivators at the Divinity Transformation Realm and above. The Profound Pure Sect was not among those invited; the meeting was more for discussing the specific implementation and application of the method.
Xu Ran’s method was a combination of medicine and the Five Elements, with medicine as the primary component. The world was like a person, yet not a person; his method was to diagnose and treat it.
He explained it all to Yue Qingyu in detail. After listening, she fell into a long, thoughtful silence before finally saying, "The Sect should also begin its preparations."
She didn’t stay much longer. They shared a meal, and after checking on Little Xiyue, she departed.

More than a month passed after the Creation Sect’s grand invitation, but no news emerged from their gathering.
Xu Ran, however, did receive some good news. Jiang Nian of Spirit Stream Peak, who had received Xu Ran’s theoretical teachings and in whom the peak had placed great hope, had finally made a breakthrough after years of research.
Jiang Nian had been researching Star Spirit Grass, the primary ingredient for Qi Gathering Pills. According to news from Spirit Stream Peak, he had now managed to cultivate a variant of Star Spirit Grass that could survive in ordinary fields.
However, it was not yet ready for mass cultivation, as its growth and yield were unstable when planted on a large scale.
Upon hearing the news, Xu Ran made a trip to Jiang Nian’s experimental Spirit Field on Spirit Stream Peak.
Jiang Nian was pleasantly surprised by Xu Ran’s arrival. Though he was unaware of Xu Ran’s true identity, he knew it was thanks to him that he had obtained access to Shennong’s latest theories.
Xu Ran watched Jiang Nian bustling about the Spirit Field and waved to stop him from bowing. He then took a careful look at the planted Star Spirit Grass and asked, though he already knew the answer, "Are these your results?"
Jiang Nian flashed a wide, toothy grin and nodded.
Xu Ran praised him, "Impressive. To think you can grow it in ordinary fields."
Jiang Nian smiled shyly, scratching his head. "It’s still not quite there. I can’t cultivate it on a large scale yet."
"Oh?" Xu Ran drew out the sound, then asked, "What’s the issue?"
Jiang Nian didn’t hold back. Regardless of whether Xu Ran would understand, he explained the problems he was encountering one by one.
After listening to the explanation, Xu Ran frowned in thought for a long while before slowly speaking.
"I’m no Spirit Plant Master, but I think that if you want to cultivate Star Spirit Grass in ordinary fields, you need to consider more than just the grass itself and the earth-veins and water-qi of the fields. You should also consider the inherent qi of the mundane world itself..."
