Chapter 1316: Chapter 1316 - Taming the Old World - Intimidate - 2

The plan for the execution was straightforward, yet it required a heavy burst of upfront power, which made Julius’s participation absolutely critical to save Ren’s energy.

Julius would anchor the Diamond mutant in place using his absolute mastery over the earth. Ren would then help him pull it out and hit the trapped behemoth with a single, cataclysmic strike, just strong enough to split it wide open. Finally, Liora would pour her spiritual fire directly into the two parts, incinerating the beast from the inside out before its regeneration could kick in.

The main logistical hurdle was delivering that "single splitting strike".

Generating enough concentrated energy to cleanly cleave a Diamond-class mutant in half was not something Ren could pull off THAT casually. He could only reach that damage ceiling by engaging his three-headed fusion plus rotating the crystals and using the pertinent elemental ring, and simply sustaining that massive Jade Hydra form was a severe drain on his ether.

Worse still, this could not be a slow, grinding beam-struggle like the ones he used against the guardians, where he could afford to project a less expensive, sustained laser and let the continuous push do the work and keep the enemy static.

This execution had to be really fast.

It required a single, ultra-condensed, instantaneous slash so the Diamond titan would not have the time to react, brace itself, ask for help or attempt a spatial jump.

It would cost him nearly ten percent of his total reserves, spent in the blink of an eye.

But the psychological payoff was worth the price...

One dead Diamond, and Selthia would learn exactly what happened when she brought her toys too close to his walls.

????

Ren picked the nearest target.

One of the six titans was currently skirting somewhat near the edge of the city’s outer trench, actively looking for a section of the great chasm where it could construct a crude earthen bridge and burrow underground to reposition itself in Yino side.

It was the most exposed piece on the board, entirely isolated and miles away from the overlapping support of the other five.

Ren launched with his Mantis into the sky, flanked by Julius and Liora. The three tamers tore through the air at maximum speed, dropping out of the clouds on a direct intercept course.

The titan sensed their approach, but it was slightly too slow to react.

Realizing it was caught out of position, the Diamond mutant frantically tried to dive, attempting to bury itself into the subsoil and escape through the deep trenches.

It never moved even another meter down.

Ren and Julius synchronized their earth magic perfectly. Working in tandem, they seized the terrain directly beneath the beast and snapped it shut, sealing the subterranean pathways, condensing the earth and trapping the colossal mutant halfway between the surface and the now enhanced bedrock.

To cut off its secondary escape tactic, Ren immediately blanketed the titan in a dense sphere of shadow magic. The dark ether aggressively jammed the surrounding spatial coordinates, permanently locking down the short-range teleportation leaps that those massive Diamond bodies occasionally managed to pull off.

The Diamond was completely pinned.

It had no tunnel to dive into, no spatial jump to exploit, and nowhere to run.

"Now, Julius!" Ren roared.

Julius ripped his arms upward, forcefully extracting the beast from the soil. The last layer of superficial earth shattered as the prince hauled the trapped titan back up to the surface, leaving its massive torso completely exposed.

Ren unleashed the triple fusion.

The colossal Jade Hydra materialized with a deafening roar, its energy amplified by the pulsing dragon energy in his veins. Ren activated the light ring and funneled some of that borrowed power into a single point. All three draconic heads struck simultaneously, discharging a hyper-concentrated blade of pure light along a perfect sagittal plane.

The single, blinding slash cleanly cleaved the Diamond titan in two, right down the middle from its crown to its stomach.

"Liora!"

Liora was already airborne too and waiting for the call. Her spiritual fire Bashe unleashed a roaring torrent of purple-blue flames directly onto the two split halves of the titan before the corrupted flesh could even attempt to knit itself back together. The searing heat consumed the wound, burning the corrupted tissue down to the marrow until there was absolutely nothing left for the hive to reconstruct.

The Diamond mutant died permanently...

It was reduced to sterile ash, leaving not a single scrap of usable biomass for the corruption to recycle.

The surgical strike was staggeringly effective.

Not merely because it removed a titan from the board, but because of the terrifying message it broadcasted across the plains.

The remaining five Diamonds, which had been cautiously circling the city at what they believed was a safe distance, instantly broke formation. The moment they registered that one of their peers had been reduced to cinders in a matter of seconds, they scrambled backward, frantically putting some more miles of dirt between themselves and the walls.

The lesson was crystal clear: stepping anywhere near Ren’s airspace was an instant death sentence.

Ren let out a heavy breath and dissolved the triple fusion, feeling the sharp, sudden ache of the massive ether expenditure catch up to him.

It had been a heavy swing... Just as he had calculated, it cost him nearly ten percent of his total tank. At this burn rate, he barely had enough fuel to repeat the execution on the remaining five titans. But if he actively hunted them down one by one, he would completely bankrupt his reserves, leaving him with absolutely nothing left to reinforce the dome or fend off the incoming Platinum horde later.

Yet the investment had paid out perfectly. One titan was dead, and the other five were utterly terrified.

????

When the rest of the mutant army finally arrived at the battlefield, they kept a massive, "respectful" distance from the perimeter.

The two hundred Platinums, followed by the sprawling tide of thousands of lower-tier beasts, fanned out to encircle the capital, yet they refused to step foot within striking range. Ren’s brutal demonstration on the titan had successfully trickled all the way down the hive’s chain of command; if a Diamond was not safe near Ren, a Platinum was nothing more than kindling.
