What Do You Mean I Have To Comprehend Dao As A Mortal God?

Chapter 307: Just Casual City Destruction

  • Next Chapter

We appeared on the outskirts of that town, a good distance away from the walls but still close enough to be within sight of it.

Both Siti and Diana stared at the walls in front of them, looking not impressed at what they were looking at.

"This is even worse than that mutant city," Diana huffed.

I’m not sure if I should be worried that she was already referring to those people as ’mutants’ instead of people who gained powers like we did...

Eh... I guess it’s easier to kill someone if you decide they aren’t human so... I’ll just keep my mouth shut about it.

Instead, I gestured at the towers and the turrets placed near the gates, "Might want to watch out for those. Wouldn’t want to get shot by those things. Their lasers pack a punch."

Siti smiled at the sight of it, "Oh you worry too much. We’ll be fine, won’t we, Diana?"

Diana smirked, "Of course we would~ Now... How do you want to handle this, Siti?"

"Hmm... We’re here for the Mana Crystal Vein so we can’t just destroy the entire place or we might lose that... We’ll have to keep our destruction limited only to the surface."

Diana hummed, "Hmm... We also need to make sure not to destroy too much since some of the things they have seem pretty valuable."

"Do we really need them though? I’m sure the soldiers or whoever can just come and deal with it."

"That’s true, I don’t want to think too much about it either."

"Right. So lets just destroy everything then? We just need to keep our destruction on the surface level?"

"Yeah, let’s do that~"

We’re really just talking about destroying an entire town like it’s the most normal thing in the world...

To be fair... I’m not exactly at the level where I could do that yet so this is still something that is out of my league.

Before they could start however, the gates of the wall slid open and a pickup truck started driving towards us, only to stop a distance away when the driver spotted us standing on the road.

There was a passenger riding shotgun beside the driver and two more sitting on the truck bed, all of them peeking out to look at the reason why the car had stopped.

One of the men that was seated on the truck bed leapt out of the truck, a rifle shaped object clutched in his hands as he made his way towards us.

He immediately stopped in his tracks when his gaze landed on Maylene before looking up at my mask, his eyes widening before he started running back towards the truck.

"Mutants!! Fucking mutants!! Shoot them!!"

Oh, he saw Maylene’s bunny ears and tagged her as a mutant I guess? And maybe my mask also made him think I was one too.

The guy in the passenger seat leaned out of the window and pulled out a similar looking rifle to point at us, pulling the trigger without hesitation.

I materialised and slammed one of my floating arms down in front of us, projecting a shield that blocked the laser for us.

This was even stronger than the scanner type weapon as I actually felt the laser pushing against my shield, even though it wasn’t really at risk of shattering it.

Diana turned to me, "You wanna handle these losers while we deal with the town?"

That casual about it, huh?

I shrugged, "Sure."

They didn’t wait to see what I would do as both of them shot up into the air with their powers, Siti being lifted up by vines that exploded out from the ground while Diana riding a waterspout that was materialised out of thin air.

The people in the pickup truck gaped at the sight of the two women lifting themselves into the air but I guess this wasn’t something they’ve never seen before because they recovered pretty quickly.

They shifted their aim to point their weapons at the two Mortal Goddesses, but that was their mistake as they had completely forgotten about me.

With a flick of my wrist, the earth under the car exploded upwards, tossing the car to flip over and toss the last guy on the truck bed out of the car.

The other two inside the truck’s cabin were not as lucky since they were trapped inside and could do nothing but watch as the car came crashing back down, flattening itself and crushing both men inside it.

The guy who shouted out to shoot at us skidded to a stop when he saw what just happened, his last surviving comrade groaning on the ground from the broken leg he was suffering.

He quickly spun around, lifting up his own gun to try and shoot at me.

He didn’t get the chance as I punched out a bolt of lightning that pierced through his body, burning a fist sized hole through his chest and forcing him back a few steps.

I didn’t wait for him to realise he was dead before I sent out two fireballs to burn him and the last guy, reducing them both to ash.

I then felt a pressure coming from above me and looked up to see both Siti and Diana stretching out their hands towards the town in front of us.

At this point, I’m pretty sure everyone inside that town knew that they were under attack by the giant pillar of vines and water that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere in front of their walls.

Alarms were blaring and the turrets on the walls spun to point their barrels at the two women above, seemingly charging up to get ready to fire.

They never got the chance as the entire town was suddenly overgrown with vines that covered the whole area in an instant, almost as if they had just materialised out of thin air.

I could at least catch sight of it thanks to my enhanced senses where I saw the vines growing rapidly out of the ground and wrapping themselves around everything that they touched, including the people that were inside the town.

One of the guards had been on the guard towers and he was shouting out orders one moment before he was completely wrapped up in the vines, his body trapped in the pose he had before the vines appeared.

The turrets were also given the same treatment as the entire machine was pulled to point their barrels away from the two of them before they were completely engulfed with the vines, making it look like it was made of wood instead.

Then Diana swung her arms downwards and a giant cube of water appeared in the air high up above the town.

It then started to drop before both Siti and Diana wrapped themselves in wood and water, protecting themselves from whatever was about to happen next.

My mind then recalled something about what would happen if rain didn’t come down as individual drops but one massive sheet of water instead and I realised we were definitely not in a safe position right now.

I grabbed Maylene, Rahayu and Liyana, placing my bunnygirl on my shoulders and carrying the other two under my arms like they were baggage before leaping through the teleportation door I made that teleported us up into the air.

I changed my gravity to stop myself from dropping, right as that cube of water crashed down on the town.

The buildings were instantly flattened by the impact of the water and a shockwave exploded out from the impact zone, shaking the ground and sending the cube of water crashing out through the land like a tsunami.

The devastation that drop of water caused was massive as not only was the town flattened, it had also cratered the ground and washed away most of the buildings to push them out from the town.

I’m pretty sure that anyone that was in the splash zone got crushed instantly and if by some miracle survived the first impact, they were now drowning inside the water because Siti’s plants prevented them from moving and they were now completely submerged in the water.

Where there had been a town before here, it was now a giant lake.

The two Mortal Goddesses finally released their shields to look down at their handiwork as I floated beside them, neither seeing surprised by the destruction they caused.

In fact, Diana even chuckled, "Ahahaha~ Looks like I let it hit a little too hard and didn’t limit the damage to the surface only~ Oh well~ At least it doesn’t look like I hit the Mana Crystal Vein."

Siti shook her head, "I knew I should have reinforced the vines on the ground to mitigate the impact... I suppose that’s what happens when I get a little too lax."

Mortal Gods could really just wipe out an entire town... Or even a city... Just like that huh?
