Chapter 1522: Rewards Of The Lonely King

We looked at the three titans as they slowly turned towards us.

Lisa rolled her eyes, "Great. It got so scared of us it made three bodies to hide itself in so we can’t easily guess which one it’s in..."

Emilia swung her sword in an arc in front of her, sneering at the three giant monsters that towered over us without fear, "That just means that whatever we’re doing is working and it’s got this thing scared for its life."

Odeta punched her fists together, "Guess we should just beat its face in before it gets any more ideas. Sister Aster!"

I clasped my hands together and gave my girls a single nod and command, "Go."

All of them rushed forward in a burst of speed, all of them wrapped up in the buffs that I could give them.

[Shadow Glide] to increase their speed, [Strength] to increase their overall strength and endurance, [Lightning Clad] to give the frontliners elemental damage, armour made using [Light Forge] to increase their defense, [Body Current] to amplify the front liners’ strength even further and even a preemptive case of [Area Regeneration] to boost their healing in case they took damage for this clash.

The three undead titans turned to face our charge, their arms already raised in defence believing we were going to just run straight at it from the front.

But here I pulled out the next part of our plan, having used our telepathy with our [Ring of Shared Thoughts] to plan this out.

I created several portals with [Link Portal] in front of the front liners, letting them jump into a different one that teleported them behind one of the three titans each.

Odeta took the middle one for herself, Emilia got the one on the right and both Delmare and Tiara went for the one on the left.

All of them struck the titans at the same time, Odeta punching her fist at the back of her target’s head with an earth shattering boom that caved its head in while Emilia simply sliced off its head at the neck cleanly.

Delmare and Tiara also aimed for the titan’s neck as they both slashed their swords at the same time, creating a cross slash that separated the head from its body.

But since it was just an undead puppet, that was obviously not going to disable it.

Our main goal for this was to cut down the possible locations where the Lich King might be hiding within these bodies so the frontliners would obliterate the heads to make sure it wasn’t inside them.

As for the rest... Ira dove down towards the centre body, her body wrapped in the angry red glow of her Infernal lightning as she crashed into its chest.

Lilith joined in as she bathed the body of the left titan with a blast of her crimson red flames while Tsara brought down a pillar of light that smashed the body of the right titan into the ground, slowly flattening it with her spell.

Lisa, Minnera and Katsuki hung back, because I have a feeling that there was more than what we saw here.

Sure enough, when all three titan bodies were obliterated, we found no traces of the Lich King within them.

As a response to all three of the titans being crushed, the rotten flesh and bones of the titans melted into the ground before suddenly converging in the centre of the room, compressing themselves into a ball right as it let loose an explosion of force that forced us to take cover.

The three girls that remained with me hid behind the light shield I created while the others retreated behind the light shields that Tsara and Lisa were maintaining.

The ball then absorbed all of the flesh and bones before reforming itself into the Lich King itself.

Huh... So it had actually changed its own body to spread itself amongst the three titans instead of hiding inside one specifically... Which meant if we didn’t completely disintegrate those titans, we wouldn’t have killed it anyway.

The only reason why its reforming was probably because it figured even its titan form was not enough to deal with us.

It raised its hand to summon its staff again before the crown on top of its head shone with menacing light.

I felt a pressure push down on me and it was the same for my girls as their knees buckled under the weight though none of us was brought to kneel.

The Lich King looked offended that we weren’t kneeling to it and the light intensified, increasing the weight that was pushing down on us.

I managed to create a portal under Katsuki and she let herself fall inside it, reappearing above the Lich King with her daggers out and stabbing it into its back.

The pressure pushing us down immediately lifted and Minnera raised up her hands to fire her pistols at the Lich King, blasting it with several bullets that exploded on impact.

The explosion caused the Lich King to fall towards the ground and Lisa was already below it and pouring out the contents of a bottle out on the ground where the Lich King was expected to fall.

It hit the ground with a wet squelch and the liquid quickly solidified into a viscous jelly like substance, sticking the Lich King down like glue and preventing it from moving.

Lisa gave me a peace sign, "Hehehe~ There we go~ It can’t run anymore~"

We got up and converged around the fallen undead monster that was trying to pull itself out of the puddle of solidified glue.

As we had thought, it might have quite a lot of magic power but its physical strength was really low so there was no way it could get out of a simple trap like this.

And right now... It was at the perfect distance for us to stop it from using any spells so if we were to even sense any movement of mana from it, we just have to beat it.

Not that it would have a chance to do that anyway since it’s just going to die now.

I raised up my Light Sword and poured my mana into the blade before bringing it down into its head, piercing straight through its skull.

The Lich King made a clacking noise that might have been its version of a scream but that was quickly silenced as I slashed my sword to separate its head into two.

The usual cheerful music played in the background to indicate the Dungeon clear, thanks to my [Heed Thy Call] boon.

Funny how I’m using it as a confirmation to the Dungeon clearing.

A ball of light soon shot into the air and we gathered together to await our Dungeon clear reward to materialise.

Normally, there would be individual balls of light that would split and head towards each party member to give everyone their own reward for participating in the Dungeon clear...

Which was why all of us were confused when we saw that there weren’t individual balls of light flying towards each of us. In fact, the giant ball of light remained whole and slowly lowered itself towards the ground before letting off a flash of light.

We shielded our eyes from the flash before we peeked at what was left behind.

There, at where the light had disappeared into, was a statue of a person whom I assumed was who the Lich King was supposed to be before it became a Lich.

The statue was knelt on a knee with his head bowed and his hands lifted up to present the crown and staff that the Lich had been using, clearly intending to be offered as the reward for the party that managed to clear the hidden boss.

Obviously I was going to use my [Screened] on it.

[Staff of the Lonely King - Allows the wielder to create a dimensional space that anyone the wielder designates will be pulled in with them. The space can only be dismissed by the wielder’s will or after the wielder is defeated. Upon entering the space, if the wielder and their allies are outnumbered within the dimensional space, the wielder and their allies receive stat boosts of 10% for each enemy inside the space with no limits to the number of stacks. If the wielder and their allies outnumber the enemy, the enemy’s stats is reduced by 10% for each ally aside from the wielder inside the space with no limits to the number of stacks.]

[Crown of the Lonely King - If the wielder is in battle alone, raise the wielder’s stats by 200%. If the wielder has allies in battle, their stats are increased by 1% for each active participant in the battle that the wielder recognises as their ally aside from themselves.]

Oh... Ok... Wow... If I had the staff earlier... That Lich King’s stats would have been reduced by a hundred percent, wouldn’t it?

Oh wait, no... The stats decrease is compounded, so it’s reduced by ten percent each time instead of just adding all the percentages together.

That’s still a significant amount though since that would reduce its magic of three thousand three hundred to around one thousand one hundred and fifty.

Yeah... These rewards are definitely worth it... I can see why they only rewarded this.

And this is even just a D ranked Dungeon too... Though the hidden condition might have raised the difficulty to B or A ranked.

I’m definitely not complaining, of course~
