What Should I Do If I Find Out My Wife Is the Pope?
Chapter 210 Then Let Me See the Final Trump Card of the "Witch of Zero Degrees," Sabela
“BOOOOM——”
A blinding radiance, vast enough to swallow the world, crashed down on the platform with a roar that seemed to split the heavens.
The ground convulsed. Jagged fissures tore through the platform, racing outward in a spiderweb of destruction across the ancient stone.
For a moment, it felt as if the entire world trembled.
The priests of the Church of the Evil God could only stare, paralyzed by terror, eyes wide with disbelief.
Bathed in holy radiance, their bodies began to unravel—flesh and bone dissolving, inch by inch, until nothing remained but empty robes and silence.
“No—!!”
There was no chance to resist, not even a moment to struggle.
The Evil God’s energy, once their proudest weapon, melted away before true holiness like black ice in a blazing inferno.
In the blink of an eye, all three priests—veteran Legacy-level Transcendents—were utterly erased from existence, as if they had never walked this earth.
“This… how is this possible?”
For the demons, who had never been saturated with the Evil God’s energy, the holy light had no such annihilating effect. But for those priests—gone in less than thirty seconds.
Eileen slumped to the ground, her body charred and half-flayed by flame, her mind blank with shock.
Her life force ebbed, trickling away with every heartbeat. Where her flesh was torn, a muddy green blood oozed—no longer clear and gem-like, but thick and sullied, like crushed berries leaking pulp.
Her once-alluring eyes, now dull and glassy, lost all spark of cunning or magic.
“Three priests… all veteran Legacy-level Transcendents, not green novices.”
“How could they be wiped out in a single stroke? Where did the Holy See find a monster like you?”
The origin of those who wielded holy energy was no secret on the continent.
Only those who had undergone a formal baptism and been anointed by the Holy See could command such power.
When they used it, their eyes glowed gold—a mark that set true clergy apart from mere apprentices, whose powers were shallow imitations.
Rarely, a pure-hearted soul among the common folk might awaken the sacred force on their own. But without systematic training and discipline, they could never stand with the Church’s elite.
“If the Holy See had a Transcendent of this caliber, there’s no way we wouldn’t have heard the rumors.”
“Who… what are you? How did the Holy See keep someone like you hidden for so long!?”
Far across the battlefield, the other two fronts still raged.
Three Legacy-level Transcendents, alongside Rein, had thrown themselves at Oshu in a desperate assault.
On the far side, Krulu was barely holding out under Morteir’s relentless onslaught.
But with Lin Wei’s side resolved in an instant, the collapse of the remaining fronts was only a matter of time.
“Now, now, that’s not something you need to worry about.”
Lin Wei smiled, utterly at ease.
“But… is this really all you’ve got? No backup plans, no hidden tricks?”
Of all his former subordinates, only one could be called the true strategist—the so-called “Witch of Zero Degrees,” Sabela. Lin Wei knew her better than anyone, and he knew her methods well.
She was meticulous, always leaving herself at least two layers of contingency, sometimes three, just to be certain the first two would succeed.
There were even times she’d wanted to prepare a fourth backup, just in case of the case of the case. He’d scolded her for it, and she’d finally dropped the habit—or so he believed.
“If this is all you’ve prepared, then you can die in peace.”
“As for the others, don’t worry. Once the Hero is dead, I’ll send them to join you… Though, to be honest, that Hero’s tenacity is impressive. Even surrounded, he’s still holding his ground?”
He let the threat hang, gaze drifting toward the distant melee.
Oshu, empowered by his True Name, was locked in a feverish battle against the Legacy-level attackers.
But demon elites were not suppressed by holy radiance, no matter how overwhelming. They could still unleash their Skills, clashing head-on, hoping to outlast the onslaught until the enemy’s power ran dry.
“You… you really do know Lady Sabela inside and out.”
To see someone face a Demon General without fear, to even predict her secret moves—just who was this man? How could he be so precise?
He had wiped out three priests in a heartbeat, barely breaking a sweat.
No, it was slaughter, pure and simple. The only reason those priests lasted half a minute was because his output had stopped just short of instant annihilation.
If she didn’t play her final card now, she’d never have another chance.
“Then let’s all go to hell together.”
CRACK—
A howling vortex of spatial distortion surged in from afar.
“Oh?”
Lin Wei’s interest was piqued as he watched.
But this time, the spatial energy wasn’t being used for teleportation.
It became a blade, slashing into the platform itself.
BOOM—
The supposedly indestructible Lava Platform began to collapse, chunks breaking away at a speed visible to the naked eye.
The adventurers, who had thought themselves saved, watched in horror as the ground beneath them shattered and tumbled toward the lava below.
“Damn it, if they can’t beat us, they’re going to drag us down with them!?”
“Flight Spell! Anyone who can cast Flight, do it now!”
“Help! Somebody help me—!”
The adventurers, safe only moments before, now erupted in panic.
With two battles raging in the distance and the platform crumbling beneath their feet, those who could cast Flight scrambled desperately for escape.
Lin Wei glanced over, calm as ever, then turned to Iresha.
“Get everyone out of here with your magic, Iresha.”
“Eh!? What—?”
Having Lin Wei nearby always made people feel safe.
After everything that had just happened, it was hard not to believe that trusting Lin Wei was always the right call.
But now, with everyone at risk of being dragged to their deaths, he wanted her to get the others out with magic?
“Lin Wei, aren’t you coming with us?”
If he intended to leave, Lin Wei would have carried her out himself, using magic to help everyone escape—especially since he knew she dreaded heights and hadn’t learned Flight.
Which could only mean—he wasn’t planning to escape with them.
What was he thinking?
He couldn’t possibly be planning to take care of the remaining enemies before leaving, could he?
“Of course. I’ll finish off what evil remains, then come find you.”
“Don’t worry… with the tables turned, this level of threat is nothing to me now.”
“Remember, that’s a Demon General over there—one of the true pillars of demon power.”
His calm answer only confirmed Iresha’s suspicion.
As he looked toward the distant battles, a reassuring smile crept onto Lin Wei’s face.
“If I can take down the Headless Horseman here, the Holy See’s crusade for light and justice will be unstoppable. And your wish to defeat the Demon Lord will come true sooner than you think.”
“This platform’s got maybe thirty seconds left. Get everyone who can cast Flight moving, and use levitation to help the rest. You can handle that, can’t you?”
To realize the dream of slaying the Demon Lord sooner… Lin Wei, that man.
“I got it!”
Staying behind would only slow Lin Wei down.
She understood the gap between their strengths better than anyone.
“Hey, Kena, help me get Iresha out of here.”
“She’ll guide you along the safe route. After that, just stay put and wait for rescue!”
“Eh?”
Kena—tall, draped in her Mage’s robe—had already been preparing to gather her teammates and retreat.
When she heard Lin Wei call out, she paused, blinking for a few seconds.
Then realization dawned.
“I understand, Sir Lin Wei!”
“And…”
She gently lifted Iresha, who floated beside her in midair.
Thinking of the message Lin Wei had relayed, and recalling her own former doubts, Kena took a deep breath and bowed her head.
“About earlier… I’m sorry. Thank you for passing on Brody’s last words. It means a lot to know he didn’t die alone.”
“Don’t worry about it. I’ll see you on the surface.”
Lin Wei waved them off, then turned back to the battered Eileen, waiting as the platform crumbled beneath his feet.
All the old grudges, the shifting alliances among the demons, and the unsolved riddle of the Hero…
“It’s finally time to end all of this.”
He let himself fall with the collapsing platform, plummeting toward the lava below.
Lin Wei looked around, calm, waiting for the moment the molten rock would engulf him.
“Then let me see it, Sabela—the Witch of Zero Degrees. Show me your final trump card.”
