Gu An brought An Xin to the Ethereal Immortal Court solely to broaden her horizons.

With Tian Hao gone, he needed to cultivate another absolute genius for Wushi. There was no particular reason behind it—he simply wanted to do so.

As An Xin immersed herself in the grandeur of the Ethereal Immortal Court, Gu An turned his attention toward Spirit Mountain.

Following the endless threads of karma connected to Spirit Mountain, he caught a glimpse of an even vaster world—dimensions layered upon dimensions. He even saw the Grand Dao River.

At that moment, Gu An’s thoughts drifted to a son he had once had in another life.

Lu Qiuxian.

The son of Lu Han, born with the Primordial Causal Body. Before Lu Han's death, he resurrected Lu Qiuxian, but for some unknown reason, Lu Qiuxian became bound to the River of Fate, unable to escape from it. However, because of this, he had also gained eternal life.

Throughout the endless years, Gu An would occasionally glance at Lu Qiuxian. After merging with the River of Fate, Lu Qiuxian had become its guardian. Though his cultivation level was nowhere near Gu An’s current strength, as long as he remained tied to the River of Fate, no one could truly erase him.

Within the river, Lu Qiuxian ceaselessly searched for his parents. Gu An saw everything yet could do nothing to intervene.

Gu An had delved deeply into the Dao of Fate, and he understood Lu Qiuxian’s obsession. If he were ever to find his father, his obsession would disperse, and so would he—without entering reincarnation.

Thus, Gu An resolved to wait until he was powerful enough to free Lu Qiuxian before taking action.

Lifespan reincarnations had allowed Gu An to deepen his understanding of the Grand Dao and expand his experiences across lifetimes, but they had also left countless regrets.

Lu Qiuxian searched for Lu Han.

Hei Xuan Emperor relentlessly pursued Bai Xian Fairy.

Yongsheng longed to rescue Yao Xuan Fairy.

Every incarnation carried its own regrets. Only Ji of Yan Tribe had no regrets regarding emotions—his only regret before dying was failing to touch upon an even higher cultivation realm.

Gu An’s gaze quickly locked onto Lu Qiuxian.

Within the River of Fate, Lu Qiuxian sat cross-legged—not in meditation, but in an endless search for his parents within the infinite strands of fate.

His cultivation grew stronger as time passed. Based on his aura alone, he had already reached the Vast Heaven Free Immortal Realm.

A sudden thought arose in Gu An’s mind—he wanted to understand Lu Qiuxian’s mindset throughout these endless years. His pupils shifted, transforming into the Immortal Emperor’s Pupil.

At that very moment, Lu Qiuxian’s eyes snapped open, his brows furrowing as he scanned his surroundings.

Gu An immediately halted his probing, a trace of surprise flashing through his mind.

"A Vast Heaven Free Immortal can sense the gaze of a Wondrous Truth Grand Luo Immortal?"

A sense of admiration arose in him.

Lu Qiuxian was, after all, a peerless prodigy. If he were still alive today, his cultivation level would have undoubtedly surpassed what it was now.

Just as Gu An was about to retract his gaze, his expression suddenly darkened.

Within the countless karmic threads surrounding Lu Qiuxian, he saw a shadowy figure approaching.

The figure was blurred and shrouded in boundless killing intent.

Gu An couldn’t see through its identity. He could only perceive it moving toward Lu Qiuxian, yet even with his abilities, he couldn’t calculate when exactly it would reach him.

This was not a conventional approach but a karmic one—the figure was targeting Lu Qiuxian through the very fabric of fate.

Gu An had no way to warn Lu Qiuxian. Even if he did, it would be futile.

If even the River of Fate couldn’t stop the entity from approaching, then knowing in advance would only add to Lu Qiuxian’s distress.

Time passed.

An Xin finally withdrew her gaze from the Ethereal Immortal Court and turned to look at Gu An.

She saw her master frowning.

Following his line of sight, she saw nothing, yet a wave of unease filled her heart.

What could possibly make her master furrow his brows?

In her eyes, nothing in the world could trouble him.

Even if it was someone who had passed away, her master could retrieve them from reincarnation itself.

Gu An’s furrowed brows relaxed. He turned to An Xin with a smile and asked, “Do you want to go back now?”

An Xin nodded. “It’s about time. I just want to focus on my cultivation now. Although I haven’t been out for long, I feel like I’ve gained new insights into my Immortal Emperor’s Pupil.”

Gu An looked into her eyes, noticing faint purple Dao marks imprinted around their edges. He gave a slight nod, then turned and walked back the way they had come.

An Xin followed closely behind him, closing her eyes as she walked.

With each step she took, a figure identical to her appeared behind her, like a series of clones.

Ten steps left behind ten figures.

One hundred steps left behind one hundred figures.

Gu An did not turn around, but he was well aware of what was happening behind him.

He had long suspected that An Xin’s Immortal Emperor’s Pupil was far from ordinary. The ability to devour external power and transform it into one’s own strength in a short period seemed formidable, but compared to his own divine ability, it was still lacking.

His Immortal Emperor’s Pupil could reverse reality and illusion, reconstruct past events, and erase the future altogether.

An Xin’s Immortal Emperor’s Pupil also had the ability to transcend past and future, but unlike Gu An’s power to manipulate reality itself, hers functioned differently.

As they continued walking, the figures An Xin left behind began to change. Their clothing shifted first, followed by their auras. Each one appeared to be a different version of her, as if they belonged to different time periods.

An Xin slowly opened her eyes and instinctively wanted to turn around.

“Don’t turn back. Maintain your current state,” Gu An’s voice came from ahead.

She froze in place, looking at her master’s back. At that moment, all distracting thoughts disappeared from her mind.

The journey remained boundless and serene, with no obstacles along the path of the Grand Dao.

An Xin felt as if she had fallen into a dream. By the time she awakened, she had already returned to Wushi Dao Field.

She turned her head and saw Lü Xian and Chen Chuan standing before Gu An, locked in a heated argument. Meanwhile, Gu An had already picked up a book.

Despite everything that had happened, she did not feel as if it had been a dream. She smiled meaningfully, then turned and left—she was going to enter seclusion for cultivation.

At the Refining Cauldron, Shen Zhen glanced at An Xin’s departing figure, her brows slightly furrowed.

In the past, she could perceive An Xin’s karmic threads, using them to infer her past and future.

But now, she could no longer see anything.

“She went out for a short trip and returned with such immense progress?” Shen Zhen thought to herself, curiosity flickering in her gaze.

She turned her attention to Gu An, her eyes filled with expectation.

Gu An, however, was focused on his book, indifferent to Lü Xian and Chen Chuan’s argument. He didn’t even glance at An Xin.

A single page turned, and an era of the mortal world unfolded.

Ten thousand years passed.

Gu An closed the book and stood up, stretching his body. Sunlight spilled over him, casting a lazy glow.

The small wooden plaques at his waist swayed gently—who could have guessed that these simple wooden tokens were once celestial immortals?

Tianqing and Tianbai hurried in from outside the courtyard. They rushed to Gu An’s side, chattering away excitedly, recounting the latest tales of the world.

In the past ten thousand years, countless prodigies had risen in the mortal realm.

Since Tian Hao’s disappearance, a new peerless genius had emerged—one capable of shaking the heavens. He hailed from Dao Court.

The two women compared his achievements to Tian Hao’s, debating over who possessed greater talent.

Gu An had already taken notice of this unparalleled genius.

Indeed, he could rival Tian Hao, for he was the reincarnation of an Immortal God.

That’s right—an Immortal God from Heavenly Court!

This was the work of Tai Yi Immortal Lord.

The immortal lord was closing in, preparing to descend personally into the Heavenly Spirit Great World. His goal was Jin Dong’s Seventy-Two Immortals.

Gu An stretched lazily, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Where should he hang Tai Yi Immortal Lord?
