When I Achieved Sainthood, the Immortal Official Actually Called Me to Raise Horses!
Chapter 689: Demonic God’s Physical Body
Beneath the dark sky, the Blood Prison Saint landed beside Fang Xuan. Both of their faces looked grim.
“No good... there’s no way out of here!”
The Blood Prison Saint gritted his teeth, fists clenched tight, eyes blazing with fury.
After cultivating on the Path of the Grand Dao for so many years, he was actually dragged into this place without being able to resist. It was a huge humiliation.
“Don’t act rashly. Sit down and meditate. First observe this realm.”
Fang Xuan pulled the Blood Prison Saint down to sit with him, keeping his eyes vigilant as he scanned the surroundings. The scorched smoke and sparks drifting through the air were a chilling reminder—something terrifying had happened here, and it could very well happen again.
The Blood Prison Saint took a deep breath, doing his best to calm down. He spread out his divine sense to probe the area.
Very soon, he saw traces of other captives—but there was no sign of Gu An or An Zizai.
“So many people have been captured... and quite a few of them are stronger than us.”
Fang Xuan muttered, his voice filled with unease.
“Xuanji Emperor! He’s actually here too? They say he’s one of the most likely contenders to become a Dao Monarch…”
Fang Xuan’s expression changed drastically. After saying that, his face turned ashen.
The Blood Prison Saint grew more and more anxious. Just what were these immortal gods planning, capturing so many cultivators?
On the other side—
An Zizai followed Gu An all the way. He noticed that although he wasn’t walking faster, the surrounding scenery shifted across vast distances.
It was a strange sensation. He was moving forward extremely quickly, but if he didn’t pay close attention, he wouldn’t even notice it.
This had to be Master Ancestor’s doing!
An Zizai looked at Gu An with growing admiration. When he was young, he couldn’t understand why his master would obey Master Ancestor without question, never doubting or even asking why—and why the other disciples were all afraid of him.
Master Ancestor looked easygoing on the surface, but he clearly possessed overwhelming divine abilities. He just didn’t show off.
An Zizai secretly swore to himself that he wanted to become someone like Master Ancestor too.
True strength wasn’t about showing off—it showed in the critical moments.
“We’re here.”
Gu An’s voice suddenly rang out, snapping An Zizai out of his thoughts. In that moment, he felt as if the entire world had trembled.
His gaze was drawn to the thing in front of him, and his eyes widened, pupils filled with shock.
Ahead stood a massive egg resting on the earth, towering like a mountain, at least one thousand zhang tall. The egg’s surface was covered in flesh and veins that looked like a network of meridians. Red light pulsed from within, and a giant curled-up figure could be faintly seen inside.
Gu An looked up at the massive egg and activated Lifespan Investigation—but got no response at all.
“So that’s it… it’s not for alchemy. They’re refining a physical body… one without a soul. Could it be meant for someone to take over?”
Gu An silently speculated. He could sense that the flesh inside the egg was already at the level of a Luo Tian Free Immortal.
This physical body lacked the aura of the Heavenly Dao but gave off a terrifying presence—one that a Luo Tian Free Immortal should not possess.
Gu An carefully deduced the clues. He found that the aura resonated with a certain Grand Dao, and that this body was intricately connected to the Three Thousand Daos.
As he pushed deeper, his vision reached into darkness beyond—into the cosmos outside the Three Thousand Great Worlds. It was a stifling void, where nothing could be seen.
Though he didn’t uncover much concrete information, one thing was certain: the reason this great cauldron imprisoned so many living beings was to refine their flesh and blood and merge them into this body.
“Master Ancestor, what is that?” An Zizai couldn’t help but ask.
Just looking at the fleshly body inside the giant egg made his scalp tingle. An intense urge to flee this place surged up from deep within.
“Maybe... a Demonic God,” Gu An replied, his gaze still locked on the massive egg.
An Zizai wanted to keep asking, but suddenly the ground shook violently. Terrifying earthfire erupted upward, and he instinctively shot into the air. His eyes snapped to the ground below.
Gu An remained standing where he was. The surrounding flames fell onto him, but didn’t hurt him in the slightest. His robes weren’t even singed. It was as if the sea of fire around him was nothing more than an illusion.
The earthfire rose quickly, forcing An Zizai to keep flying upward. In the distance, the silhouettes of other beings also soared into the sky, and powerful auras burst forth from all directions. An Zizai could feel that each of those auras carried a strong sense of unease.
“Master Ancestor…” An Zizai looked at Gu An and called out softly.
The flames terrified him. He couldn’t help but want to rely on Gu An.
Suddenly, Gu An waved his sleeve and swept the massive egg into it. Then he took a step forward, and violent winds erupted from around him, expanding in all directions. In an instant, the wind scattered all the flames in his path.
Far off in the distance—
The Blood Prison Saint and Fang Xuan were still sitting cross-legged on the ground, using their own power to resist the burning flames.
Fang Xuan frowned deeply and was about to speak when a powerful wind rushed in from the horizon. It scattered the sea of fire surrounding them, drawing their attention.
“What’s going on?”
The Blood Prison Saint muttered, heart tensed. His right hand gripped the Heaven-Shattering Blood Prison Blade planted beside him.
Fang Xuan didn’t reply. He was trying to use his divine sense to probe in that direction. But without being able to see Gu An, he couldn’t find the source of the disturbance.
…
Above the Grand Dao Qi Sea, endless golden light stretched forth.
Hundreds of thousands of heavenly soldiers walked upon the golden light. The scene swayed mightily, filled with unstoppable momentum.
At the front of the ranks, the Heaven-Stabilizing God held a blade in one hand and carried a small black cauldron in the other.
The black cauldron looked miniature in his grasp. Fierce beast patterns were carved on its surface—like dragons given eyes, lifelike and terrifying, filled with ominous energy.
Suddenly—
The Heaven-Stabilizing God stopped walking. He frowned and looked down at the cauldron in his hand.
The moment he stopped, the hundreds of thousands of heavenly soldiers all halted as well.
In the crowd, Zhang Buku stared toward the Heaven-Stabilizing God’s figure and asked curiously, “What’s wrong?”
Beside him, Xu You narrowed his eyes and answered, “Seems like something’s gone wrong with the Soul Refining Cauldron.”
Soul Refining Cauldron?
Zhang Buku grew even more curious. He was both intrigued and afraid of the Soul Refining Cauldron. Remembering how it had once suppressed all sorts of peerless talents, even he, a Heavenly God, couldn’t help but feel a chill.
This cauldron was steeped in misfortune, full of wicked aura!
Boom—
A pillar of fire suddenly shot up in front of the Heaven-Stabilizing God, soaring into the sky. It was magnificent and grand. Even his towering figure looked small before it.
Inside the pillar of fire, the massive Soul Refining Cauldron slowly rose, expanding until it was tens of thousands of times larger than before.
“Who dares lay a hand on an immortal artifact?!”
The voice of the Heaven-Stabilizing God thundered out, stern and overbearing, like heavenly thunder rumbling across the void.
The heavenly soldiers immediately readied themselves, prepared to form formations at a moment’s notice.
The Soul Refining Cauldron stopped rising and hovered in midair. The fire pillars around it quickly scattered, and the surroundings returned to calm.
The heavenly soldiers scanned the skies, but saw no trace of an enemy. One by one, their eyes turned back toward the Soul Refining Cauldron.
Its lid didn’t move—it stood as firm as Mount Tai, radiating an immovable weight.
