Tai Shang Jue’s life was incredibly brilliant, filled with tragedy and heroism. In the end, he even became a symbol of resistance against heavenly authority in the hearts of countless beings.

Gu An couldn’t interfere with Tai Shang Jue’s life, and he didn’t intend to. Tai Shang Jue was his reincarnated self, and Gu An had already played a guiding role in his path. After all, during the Lifespan Reincarnation, he had made choices for Tai Shang Jue.

Also, Gu An discovered that even though the reincarnated bodies of the Lifespan Reincarnation couldn’t meet directly, they could still intersect through karmic ties. This made him think even more deeply about the Dao of Karma.

Lifespan Reincarnation originated from him, and all reincarnated bodies wouldn’t appear in his world. They couldn’t meet and wouldn’t affect each other’s lives.

It seemed the Dao of Reincarnation had different levels. The lower levels followed the flow of time, with a sequential order. Higher levels could transcend time entirely.

That supreme Heavenly Emperor also loved reincarnation, but no one knew where he was.

Tai Shang Jue’s master, the Red Dust Dao Ancestor, once said that the Heavenly Emperor was everywhere—at the start of reincarnation and at its end. He could appear in different times and spaces at the same time.

Could Lifespan Reincarnation be the path of reincarnation of the Heavenly Emperor?

Gu An had thought about whether he might be connected to the Heavenly Emperor.

But as soon as that thought appeared, he dismissed it, thinking he was overthinking.

His Lifespan Reincarnation couldn’t reach into the Heavenly Court, which meant the Heavenly Dao’s fortune blocked it. Also, many of his reincarnated selves had been killed by immortals and gods from the Heavenly Court, forming a grudge.

Moreover, his reincarnated selves were destined to die. Their fates were all visible to him.

The setting sun sank lower towards the sea’s horizon as Gu An reviewed Tai Shang Jue’s memories, feeling his heart transform into the Dao Sacred Heart.

During this process, many of his insights into the Dao improved.

Lifespan Reincarnation was like a gamble. If a reincarnated self died young, it would be a total loss. But Tai Shang Jue lived long, and the benefits Gu An gained from him were immeasurable.

Of course, Lifespan Reincarnation could also bring karmic troubles. Even though others couldn’t directly deduce Gu An’s identity through the reincarnated selves, some karmic ties still stirred his heart.

By the time night fell, Gu An’s heart had fully transformed into the Dao Sacred Heart.

Besides that, he had also mastered many of Tai Shang Jue’s divine abilities and Dao techniques.

He was Tai Shang Jue, and Tai Shang Jue was him!

The night air was slightly cool, and the bright moon reflected on the sea.

Gu An lowered his eyes, crushing the white jade stone in his hand, feeling the Dao intent Tai Shang Jue had left behind. This Dao intent would guide him to the sealed place of the Red Dust Dao Ancestor.

After a while.

Gu An slowly stood up.

“The Desperate Heaven Tomb, it’s time to end this karma.”

Gu An muttered to himself. With his current cultivation, he could already sense the location of the Desperate Heaven Tomb and feel the curses and evil forces inside it.

Sin and Yao Xuan Fairy had suffered karmic backlash from the Great Dao, and could never enter the range of the Dao again. But the Desperate Heaven Tomb was a special area within the Great Dao where Sin could remain, and the giant palace created by Tai Shang Jue could shield Sin from torment.

That was all Tai Shang Jue could do. His cultivation wasn’t enough to fight the Dao of Karma.

Gu An couldn’t do it yet either, but he was gradually able to see the Desperate Heaven Tomb more clearly. He had a feeling that once he reached a higher realm, he could lift the curse on Sin, and then bring Sin to Wushi for cultivation.

As for Yao Xuan Fairy, she was still lost in the Dao of Karma. Gu An should be able to find her through Sin.

There was also Lu Qiuxian in the River of Destiny. Gu An would find a way to help him break free from the Dao of Destiny.

These things weren’t really troubles for Gu An. After all, they were legacies left by his past lives, and through them, he only grew stronger.

Next, he just needed to wait for his lifespan to reach one hundred trillion years!

The corners of Gu An’s mouth lifted, then he disappeared from where he stood.

……

After the Dao Court was disbanded, the world fell into even greater chaos. The hundred great sects fought over territory and resources, and the people of the world slowly began to realize something.

It turned out that the sickness of the world wasn’t the Dao Court.

The great sects of the world didn’t care what the common people thought. They only felt they had entered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. They just wanted to fight—who didn’t want to be the ruler who unified the world?

Even the Qiankun Sect became mad with ambition. Yi Qingshan and the other four slowly lost control of Qiankun Sect.

A thousand years later.

The mortal world was still in chaos, battles never ceased.

In the Qiankun Sect, inside a courtyard, Yi Qingshan, Lin Chuan, Cheng Meng, Gu Changsheng, and Gu Chengdao were hosting An Xin.

The five of them had personally founded Qiankun Sect. Now they were renowned cultivators across the world, with refined demeanors and matured minds. In contrast, An Xin looked even younger than them.

“We really are old now. The younger generation has stopped listening to us,” Cheng Meng said, shaking her head while pouring tea for An Xin.

The others nodded in agreement. Now, everyone in Qiankun Sect wanted expansion. The righteous way was nothing compared to cultivation resources. Talents like Yuan Luo were shouting for change, and many had begun pushing for the five founders to give up power, even step down.

An Xin spoke, “Since ancient times, any sect that stays strong for all eternity has to go through something like this. Right now is not just a test for Qiankun Sect, but for you all too.”

Gu An had only allowed her to protect the Nine Spirits Continent, so she couldn’t interfere.

She had watched Yi Qingshan and the others create Qiankun Sect. Over more than one million years, generations of disciples had come to offer tributes on behalf of Qiankun Sect. Through them, she had seen the sect’s growth.

As for Qiankun Sect’s destiny, she did feel some regret, but she wouldn’t change it.

“Forget it, we’re tired. Back then, we founded this sect for revenge, and to rebuild our homeland. Now that those wishes are fulfilled, it’s time to let go,” Yi Qingshan sighed. His words were met with nods from the others.

They were truly tired and wanted to let everything go, to focus only on cultivation.

An Xin didn’t argue. Maybe this was the best outcome.

Yi Qingshan hesitated for a moment, then looked at An Xin and asked, “Senior, we’ve always wanted to know how our master is doing. Is he well?”

Back then, when they came here, all they knew was that their master Gu An was in seclusion. They thought he, like them, was under An Xin’s protection.

Over one million years had passed. Gu An often visited Qiankun Sect, but they never ran into him.

They could never forget the master who taught them to cultivate in their youth. They couldn’t recall his face clearly anymore, but his figure was something they would never forget.

An Xin set down her teacup and, under their hopeful gaze, softly said, “He is doing well.”

Those three words filled them with joy.

“Actually, he’s also my master. He was never under my protection. It was always him protecting me. I can be considered your senior sister,” An Xin said calmly.

With those words, the five of them were stunned.

They had seen An Xin’s strength, but they never knew how powerful Gu An truly was. After all, back then, Gu An had told them his cultivation was only at the Foundation Establishment Realm.
