When I Achieved Sainthood, the Immortal Official Actually Called Me to Raise Horses!
Chapter 718: Beyond the Great World
The setting sun dipped low, casting its golden light over the mountains. On the hillside, Gu An and Sin walked along the forest's edge, their shadows stretched long by the slanting rays.
Sin followed behind Gu An, constantly looking around. He was full of curiosity about everything—the flowers, grasses, and trees, all of which were sights he had never seen in the Desolate Heaven Tomb.
From time to time, he would glance at Gu An, his eyes filled with wonder.
Although he didn’t know Gu An, the moment he first saw him, he felt a strange sense of closeness.
Of course, this was mainly because he hadn’t yet formed any real understanding of the world. He didn’t know good or evil, didn’t understand the hearts of people.
As they walked, the two soon came across Jiang Lan, a third-generation disciple, practicing sword techniques in the forest.
When Jiang Lan saw Gu An, he immediately stood upright and bowed in greeting. Then, his eyes landed on Sin.
“Another junior brother?” Jiang Lan thought to himself. He carefully looked at Sin. Though the boy looked young, his aura was strange, making him feel something was unusual.
Well, anyone who could enter Wushi must have heaven-defying talent.
Of course, what counted as heaven-defying talent was different here. Outside, people might think he was talented, but inside Wushi, talent was judged by another standard. At least in his eyes, his own talent in Wushi was nothing special.
Gu An gave Jiang Lan a slight nod. As they passed by, Gu An stopped and said, “He is your little martial uncle. His name is Sin.”
Little martial uncle?
Jiang Lan was stunned, caught off guard.
The Patriarch personally took in a disciple?
Gu An continued walking. Jiang Lan came back to his senses and quickly bowed deeply to Sin, respectfully calling him little martial uncle.
Sin looked at Jiang Lan, full of curiosity. He suddenly flashed in front of him, poking Jiang Lan’s arm with his finger, then poking his face, making Jiang Lan feel quite awkward.
“Sin, hurry up and keep up.”
Gu An’s voice drifted over. Sin quickly followed after him.
Jiang Lan turned around just in time to see Sin glancing back, winking and making faces at him.
For some reason, seeing Sin’s expression, Jiang Lan felt amused. The distance between them seemed to shrink. He even looked forward to what life would be like now.
With another martial uncle, Wushi was about to get lively for a while.
Jiang Lan sheathed his sword and quietly followed along.
Night fell.
All the disciples of Wushi gathered in Gu An’s courtyard, making the place a bit crowded.
Everyone was curiously studying Sin, even An Xin and Shen Zhen were surprised. They hadn’t expected Gu An would take on a disciple.
Sin didn’t know what nervousness or discomfort meant. Faced with everyone’s gazes, he was just as curious, sweeping his eyes over them.
“His name is Sin. He’s a disciple I personally accepted. He has a special background—he comes from beyond the three thousand great worlds. Don’t be fooled by his young looks. In fact, he’s older than any of you, but he’s been trapped for a long time. From now on, you all have to help teach him.”
Gu An introduced with a smile. His words made everyone even more amazed.
Lu Xian was the first to ask, “Beyond the three thousand great worlds, what kind of place is that?”
The third-generation disciples were also hearing for the first time that there was something beyond the three thousand great worlds.
They knew their Patriarch was powerful, but just how powerful, they had no idea. Now, hearing these words, they felt an unclear yet profound awe and longing.
Let alone beyond the three thousand great worlds, they hadn’t even traveled through this great world yet.
“That’s an unimaginably distant place. Even if you surpass the Free Immortal Realm, you still wouldn’t reach it. But as long as you cultivate diligently, one day, you’ll be able to go there yourselves.”
Gu An answered simply, without mentioning the existence of the Desolate Heaven Tomb. After all, that place held the remains of a Profound Qi Hunyuan Immortal, and the karma tied to it wasn’t simple.
The disciples started chatting among themselves, voices rising all at once.
An Xin leaned toward Gu An and softly said, “Master, don’t worry, I’ll personally look after him.”
She knew Gu An was busy and didn’t have time to keep an eye on every disciple.
Of course, she also knew what Gu An was busy with, but she felt that Gu An deserved to enjoy himself now. To reach such strength, he must’ve gone through hardships they couldn’t even imagine. Now that he was strong, he should enjoy life.
“It’s fine, you just focus on your cultivation. I’ll teach him myself, or I’ll let the Ephemeral Blossom Ghost Mother do it,” Gu An said with a smile.
Sin had been trapped in the Desolate Heaven Tomb for so many years, Gu An wanted to make it up to him. Wherever he went, he planned to bring Sin along, so the boy could build his own understanding of the world and gain some real experience.
As for letting the Ephemeral Blossom Ghost Mother teach him, Gu An had his own thoughts. He wanted her to integrate better into Wushi.
Hearing this, An Xin felt a bit suspicious.
Could Sin be Master’s son?
She turned to look at Sin but didn’t see any resemblance between him and Gu An.
Everyone could sense how much Gu An valued Sin. Combined with Sin’s mysterious background, they were all deeply curious about him.
Sin was curious about everything, which made the days at Wushi lively.
In the blink of an eye.
A hundred years passed. The Qiankun Sect fell into internal chaos. Yi Qingshan had passed the position of Sect Master to Yuan Luo. Various factions fought endlessly, with killing intent lurking everywhere behind the scenes.
That spring, Gu An took Sin to visit the Gathering Flower Sect, to see Jiang Qiong.
The Gathering Flower Sect had seized an opportunity and quickly grew stronger. With Gu An’s help, Jiang Qiong had reached the Free Immortal Realm. Even in this era, a Free Immortal held immense power.
Jiang Qiong looked at Sin, who was darting around the pavilion, full of curiosity.
Sin still looked like a youth, dressed in white with a red sash at his waist. His black hair was tied high behind his head. Though he looked young, he was spirited and full of life.
“He’s really your disciple? Feels more like your son.”
Jiang Qiong turned to Gu An, asking with a puzzled look.
Seeing Sin, she couldn’t help but think of when she first met Gu An. Though Gu An had already grown up then, compared to now, he’d been so immature.
Gu An smiled, “What’s the difference between a disciple and a son? After all, once a teacher, always a father.”
Jiang Qiong raised her hand, resting her cheek on it. She looked at Gu An with a sly smile and asked, “Want a real son? I’ll give you one.”
Gu An shook his head, chuckling, “We’re cultivators, what do we need children for?”
He really thought that way. He already had enough karmic ties, he didn’t want the added burden of children.
Children and disciples were different. With a disciple, you could sever ties if needed, but a child? How could you just cut that off?
With his current power and Wushi’s foundation, if he had children, he’d probably raise some unruly little tyrants.
Of course, the most important thing was that Gu An didn’t really long for children.
“Master, I want to go out and play, can I?” Sin stood on the courtyard wall, calling out to Gu An.
Gu An replied, “Go ahead, just don’t go too far.”
Just as Jiang Qiong was about to say something, Sin vanished from the wall in a flash.
That movement made Jiang Qiong secretly startled.
That speed was far beyond what his realm should allow!
This kid’s talent and comprehension were definitely extraordinary.
Jiang Qiong said, “I was just about to ask someone to take him around, but I didn’t think he’d be in such a rush.”
Gu An laughed, “Don’t worry, that kid won’t cause any trouble. It’s good that he’s gone, now I can personally guide your cultivation.”
Jiang Qiong’s smile bloomed like a flower, her eyes narrowing into crescent moons. She teased, “Well, I do have something I’m stuck on, and I need your guidance.”
As she spoke, her hand rested gently on Gu An’s leg.
