Blood Prison Great Sage and Sin had been away for a thousand years, traveling through the mortal realm. Time passed very slowly for them, but for the disciples of the Daoist Temple, it seemed as though they had only been gone for a day.

Sin’s journey through the mortal realm served to broaden his understanding. He encountered all sorts of events, saved people, was deceived, killed, and even had entanglements with large sects.

However, all the grievances disappeared when he returned to Wushi, because no one could force their way into Wushi.

This experience had helped Sin grow a lot, and he began to think about the kind of person he wanted to become.

Blood Prison Great Sage followed Sin, claiming he would not interfere, but when faced with the siege of a large sect, he couldn't help but step in. This also helped ease the tension between him and Sin.

Though these two calmed down, another fearless figure emerged from the third generation of disciples. Gu An did not find it annoying; instead, he found it amusing.

After all, he had no intention of personally teaching the third or fourth generation of disciples. Watching their playful interactions brought him joy.

Thirty thousand years later, an unexpected guest arrived in the Heavenly Spirit Great World.

In the depths of the universe, at the entrance to the realm, Heavenly Spirit God stood waiting for the arrival.

The portal emitted a dazzling light, bright like a full sun. Through the intense light within the portal, a figure slowly emerged.

Sensing the other’s Heavenly Dao aura, Heavenly Spirit God raised his hand in a greeting, saying, “Heavenly Spirit God greets the Immortal Lord. May I ask, Immortal Lord, what brings you here?”

“I am Yin Xuan Immortal Lord, here for the great cause of the Emperor Xuan Yuan, and also to seek immortality for the beings of this realm,” came a voice from the blinding light. The tone was indifferent, with an unmistakable air of arrogance.

As the voice fell, a man dressed in black stepped out from the bright light. He was tall, with a noble bearing. Two purple pythons were coiled around his waist, their heads rising over his back and towering above his head like two colorful ribbons floating behind him.

Hearing the words of Yin Xuan Immortal Lord, Heavenly Spirit God remained unfazed, saying, “The Heavenly Spirit Great World has no intention of intervening in the battle of the Heavenly Sons.”

Had it been in the past, he might have hesitated, but now that he had Gu An backing him, and with Gu An's disciple even occupying a position among the immortals, what did he have to fear?

Whether within the Heavenly Court or outside it, he was confident.

Yin Xuan Immortal Lord’s gaze fell on Heavenly Spirit God, seemingly trying to see through him.

Heavenly Spirit God met his gaze fearlessly, and as the intense light from the portal faded, Yin Xuan Immortal Lord was gradually enveloped in darkness, making him appear less like an immortal god and more like a demonic figure.

“Dare I ask, whose domain is this realm?” Yin Xuan Immortal Lord asked.

Not angered by Heavenly Spirit God’s rejection, Yin Xuan Immortal Lord understood the message he was receiving.

This fellow has backing!

Heavenly Spirit God frowned, not expecting the other to persist in his questioning.

At this moment, a figure appeared behind Heavenly Spirit God, and the immortal light radiating from him caught Heavenly Spirit God’s peripheral vision, causing him to instinctively turn his head to look.

“My Dao? So it is Tai Yi Immortal Lord,” Heavenly Spirit God thought, recognizing the figure behind him.

Yin Xuan Immortal Lord’s voice echoed, “Ah, so it is Tai Yi Immortal Lord.”

Looking at the figure behind Heavenly Spirit God, a smile spread across Yin Xuan Immortal Lord’s face.

He wasn’t afraid of the Heavenly Spirit Great World having backing. What he feared was if that backing supported an enemy Emperor.

Tai Yi Immortal Lord spoke, “Yin Xuan Immortal Lord, the Heavenly Spirit Great World was once subject to the destruction decree and has been removed from the roster of the Three Thousand Great Worlds. Though it will be restored in the future, for now, it does not count in the Heavenly Sons’ conflict.”

Yin Xuan Immortal Lord laughed, “Since you say so, I must give face.”

Tai Yi Immortal Lord nodded slightly in acknowledgment.

Heavenly Spirit God quietly stepped aside, not blocking the view between the two Immortal Lords.

Yin Xuan Immortal Lord and Tai Yi Immortal Lord were clearly familiar with each other, though the atmosphere between them was subtly tense, and Heavenly Spirit God could sense the smell of gunpowder in the air.

“What's the matter? Does Yin Xuan Immortal Lord have any further advice? Or perhaps the Heavenly Son has other instructions?” Tai Yi Immortal Lord asked, taking a step forward. His imposing aura made Heavenly Spirit God's expression change.

Yin Xuan Immortal Lord smiled and said, “It's nothing. I was just curious. I’ve heard that a Heavenly Son is descending upon this great world, but I don't know if it's true or not.”

“If it’s true, do you intend to investigate the Heavenly Son?” Tai Yi Immortal Lord pressed, his tone arrogant and domineering.

“Who am I to dare?” Yin Xuan Immortal Lord shook his head with a wry smile and then turned, walking toward the realm gate.

His Heavenly Dao aura stirred the intent within the gate, and a burst of blinding light shot out, once again illuminating the universe.

Tai Yi Immortal Lord and Heavenly Spirit God watched as he entered the gate, only turning to look at each other after his aura disappeared.

Heavenly Spirit God seemed to want to speak but stopped himself.

Tai Yi Immortal Lord’s expression returned to calm. He said, “If he didn’t act forcefully, he would definitely come again. Only by showing no fear of the Heavenly Son will the Emperor behind him take notice. After all, right now, the opponent of that Heavenly Son is another one. It wouldn't be wise to complicate things.”

Heavenly Spirit God, upon hearing this, felt it made sense and decided not to ask further questions.

Tai Yi Immortal Lord turned to leave, leaving behind one last sentence: “There will be more Immortal Gods descending soon. Prepare yourselves.”

Before his words had fully faded, Tai Yi Immortal Lord vanished without a trace.

Heavenly Spirit God did not worry. Instead, he was impressed by how well this Immortal Lord managed matters, which explained why he had become an Immortal Lord in the first place.

“Even the path of Immortal Officials requires talent,” Heavenly Spirit God mused inwardly, shaking his head before turning and heading back to his meditation spot.

Far away, at Wushi Daoist Temple, Gu An was very pleased with Tai Yi Immortal Lord’s attitude. He knew how to act without needing instructions.

Quick, decisive, and clever.

As for Yin Xuan Immortal Lord’s backing, Gu An wasn’t concerned. After all, he was just a Wondrous Truth Grand Luo Immortal.

“Master Ancestor, how do you think my sword intent is?”

Standing in front of Gu An was Shangguan Xian'er, holding a wooden sword in her hands. The sword radiated with a swirl of sword intent.

Gu An, who had been sitting on the steps carving a wooden statue, casually replied, “Not bad.”

“Master Ancestor, can you pay more attention? No matter what I show you, you always say it’s ‘not bad,’ but I can never make it into the top three of the third generation disciples,” Shangguan Xian'er pouted, her tone a mixture of dissatisfaction and grievance.

Gu An actually liked her boldness. The other third-generation disciples were all too respectful toward him, even a bit too cautious, but Shangguan Xian'er was the only one who dared to express some emotion in front of him.

She was smart and knew how to maintain her boundaries. Every word she spoke was carefully thought out in her heart.

Gu An could hear her thoughts and didn’t find her insincere or pretentious. As long as she wasn’t harming anyone and was using clever methods to grow closer to him, what was the harm?

“How about you go out and gain some experience like Sin?” Gu An looked up at her, smiling.

Upon hearing this, Shangguan Xian'er immediately shook her head. “I don’t want to go. I have no enemies, and no family out there. Why go out?”

Is it so easy to come back? Shangguan Xian'er muttered to herself. Not everyone is like Sin or Blood Prison Great Sage. There’s too much karmic entanglement in the mortal world, and she was afraid of getting caught up in it. Instead of risking unnecessary complications, it was better to stay put and focus on her cultivation.

Her goal was to become a strong existence like her Master Ancestor, not to marry and start a family, let alone make unnecessary relationships and entanglements for no reason.
