"Mm, we won."

Zhou Qi responded, but the arm around his shoulder didn’t loosen its grip. Zhou Qi turned his head to look at the person holding onto him, Ah Wai.

Not just Ah Wai, but the others were also smiling with an odd expression.

Zhou Qi squinted his eyes: "What do you want to say?"

"Hehe, Brother Qi, didn’t you say that if we won, you’d confess to Xiao?"

Once again, Zhou Qi squinted his eyes, but his gaze turned to An Rui, who looked innocent, raising his hands in front of his chest with an expression of "it’s nothing to do with me."

"Brother Qi, don’t look at Brother Rui. We just overheard it accidentally. Brother Qi, you go for it. You have to be the first among us to get out of singlehood, fighting!"

Ah Wai chuckled as he spoke, and though Zhou Qi’s face showed nothing, he felt a mix of emotions inside.

He indeed had this plan.

But now...

Outside the stadium, Xiao Rou and Xi Siyan were standing side by side, chatting about Zhou Chengchen. Xiao Rou knew Zhou Chengchen quite early and was now telling Xi Siyan about some middle school stories involving Zhou Chengchen.

It’s not that she wanted to spill her friend’s secrets, but although Xiao Rou knew Xi Siyan for years, they weren’t genuinely close. One was quiet and obedient, the other was cold and aloof. Such a pair really didn’t have many common topics.

But they just happened to know each other for years, so when they had to chat, the only topic was Zhou Chengchen.

Regarding Zhou Chengchen, Xi Siyan never seemed to tire of listening.

At this moment, Xiao Rou was telling him an embarrassing story of Zhou Chengchen from middle school, and as she spoke, she started chuckling herself.

Xi Siyan’s mouth curved into a smile, but very restrained, not as radiant as Xiao Rou’s smile.

When Zhou Qi came out, he saw this scene; the rest of his team had already left, claiming to create an opportunity for him.

But now Zhou Qi saw Xiao Rou smiling brightly at Xi Siyan, and he couldn’t help but clench his hand a little in his pocket.

Zhou Qi walked closer, and the two over there stopped chatting.

Xi Siyan was the first to speak: "Congratulations."

Zhou Qi smiled: "Thank you."

Xiao Rou looked behind him: "Where’s your team?"

"They left first."

Zhou Qi responded, then looked at Xi Siyan: "Want to grab a late-night snack together?"

Xi Siyan shook his head: "I have something this evening, so I’ll be off first."

Xi Siyan was there just to keep Xiao Rou company, waiting for Zhou Qi as a friend. After all, it’s not good for a girl to be alone outside late.

Now Zhou Qi arrived, so Xi Siyan greeted him and left.

Once he left, Zhou Qi didn’t say anything, and Xiao Rou suddenly felt the atmosphere between them was a bit awkward.

"Um... congratulations, you did great today."

Despite the awkwardness, Xiao Rou still smiled and spoke.

Zhou Qi smiled as usual: "Thank you, let’s go, I’ll walk you home."

"Oh."

They came in the team’s car, Zhou Qi didn’t drive his own, so now they walked to the roadside and hailed a taxi. Zhou Qi, very gentlemanly, opened the car door for Xiao Rou, and the car quickly hit the road.

On the way, Zhou Qi closed his eyes as if resting, making Xiao Rou hesitate to speak. But she didn’t think much of it, assuming Zhou Qi was tired after the match.

They stayed silent until they reached Xiao Rou’s neighborhood gate.

He paid, got out of the car.

Zhou Qi accompanied Xiao Rou to the entrance of her apartment block. Xiao Rou looked at Zhou Qi, feeling a bit reluctant to go up. She had dressed up meticulously today just for him, but tonight Zhou Qi seemed out of sorts.
