Xiao Rou was responding to Zhou Chengchen, not noticing the relieved expression on Zhou Chengchen’s face.

The two chatted a bit more, then Zhou Chengchen had something to attend to and ended the video call.

In the next moment after ending the call with Xiao Rou, Zhou Chengchen immediately dialed Zhou Qi’s number.

The moment the call connected, Zhou Chengchen started roaring: “Zhou Qi, what are you playing at? Little Rou’er has been set up for a blind date, I mean could you be any more efficient?”

On the other end, there was silence, a full five seconds of it before Zhou Chengchen called out twice: “Anyone there, anyone there?”

“You said she… blind date?”

“Yeah!”

Zhou Chengchen might not be a chatterbox, but when it concerns his older brother’s lifelong happiness, he went into all the details about what Xiao Rou just told him, with a bit of embellishment while relaying it to Zhou Qi.

Silence prevailed once more on this end.

After quite some time, Zhou Qi’s low voice finally came through: “That should be quite suitable for her, very good.”

“Good?”

Zhou Chengchen almost jumped out of his chair, what’s good about it?

“Are you out of your mind? A blind date? And with some friend’s son, bro, you know Little Rou’er’s temper, it’s soft as can be, even if she doesn’t like it herself, with her parents pushing it, she might agree, and she might end up marrying him, you won’t even have a place to cry then, are you planning to crash the wedding?”

“… You’re overthinking it, this way is quite good.”

“You’ll… you’ll regret it.”

Zhou Qi was silent for a few more seconds, then spoke: “Anything else? If not, I’ll hang up now.”

After saying that, he didn’t wait for Zhou Chengchen’s reaction and hung up the call on his own.

Zhou Qi had just finished showering, stepping out with his hair still wet, droplets falling one by one.

His eyes focused on the phone that had gone black.

A blind date… quite good, really quite good.

Turning off the phone and tossing it aside, Zhou Qi didn’t bother to dry his hair, fell onto the bed, covered himself with a blanket, and went to sleep.

Xiao Rou spent the weekend at the Xiao Family, returning to her apartment on Sunday night, once again having no contact with Zhou Qi for a week.

While at home, being nagged by Mrs. Xiao didn’t feel like much, but coming back alone to her apartment, looking at the empty room, Xiao Rou suddenly felt a bit lonely.

Wondering what Zhou Qi is doing now?

They don’t train at night, are they having late-night snacks?

Sitting on the sofa holding her phone, Xiao Rou was lost in thought and when she snapped back, she realized she had already found Zhou Qi’s number and dialed out.

Xiao Rou was so startled she almost dropped her phone, quickly cutting off the call, her heart pounding, secretly relieved it didn’t connect.

But soon felt a bit disappointed, why didn’t it connect?

Xiao Rou pressed her lips, got up to head to the bedroom, turned on the light, complete darkness.

Xiao Rou frowned, what’s going on? Is the bulb broken?

She pressed the switch twice more, but still no response. The lights outside were on, it couldn’t be a power outage, clearly, the bedroom bulb was broken.

How long has she lived here? How could the bulb be broken already?

Luckily, the bedroom chandeliers aren’t the kind that require tools to change bulbs, Xiao Rou remembered buying spare bulbs before, went out to find them, and using her phone as a flashlight, moved a chair over to change the bulb.

Though she had her phone as a flashlight, it was indeed still dark, Xiao Rou’s movements were not swift.
