When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase
Chapter 1402: Handbook for Pursuing Girls (1)
Zhou Qi found himself unable to describe his current mood.
The feeling that had been suppressed to rock bottom seemed to burst into fireworks in an instant.
But he didn’t rush up to hug Xiao Rou and tell her he liked her, that he had always liked her.
He was restraining himself, yet clumsily trying to control it.
He was wrong, he misunderstood.
The hand in Zhou Qi’s pocket was still clenched into a fist, but this time, he was happy.
Zhou Qi’s eyes became very bright, and when he saw Xiao Rou looking at him after finishing her laughter, Zhou Qi smiled and said, "That idiot, Zhou Chengchen."
Xiao Rou didn’t think much of it, only assumed he also thought Zhou Chengchen’s actions back then were absurd.
After tidying up the box, Zhou Qi helped Xiao Rou put it back in place, and his gaze returned to Xiao Rou’s swollen ankle. He didn’t take her to the hospital because the sprain wasn’t severe; applying ice and resting for one night without strenuous activity would be fine.
"Don’t go to the milk tea shop tomorrow."
Xiao Rou looked at her foot; she’s not someone who would stubbornly endure when it could worsen, realizing it would be counterproductive.
"Okay, I’ll let Qingqing know."
Xiao Rou felt she couldn’t handle the milk tea shop alone, but Xu Qingqing could definitely manage.
Upon hearing Xiao Rou mention her sprain, Xu Qingqing straight away urged her to rest well and not worry about the shop.
"Give me a spare key to your place; I can come over tomorrow morning without you having to open the door for me."
This request was a bit odd; although both parties knew there was a reason behind it, casually asking a girl’s house key felt somewhat awkward.
But Zhou Qi said it with such calmness, as if it was the natural thing to do.
As for Xiao Rou, at this moment, she also felt it was very normal, seemingly supposed to be this way.
So, she handed Zhou Qi the spare key.
Afterward, Zhou Qi helped Xiao Rou to the bathroom to wash up, then assisted her back to the bed, lying down, and checked her sprained ankle again, noticing it was less swollen compared to before.
Only then did he leave leisurely.
Descending the elevator to the first floor, Zhou Qi looked back at the building, suddenly jumping as if his previously suppressed excitement burst forth uncontrollably, all at once.
Zhou Qi sprinted to Xiao Rou’s place because he was worried.
And now, he’s sprinting back to the team because he’s excited.
It was late, and by the time Zhou Qi returned to the team, everyone had already gone back to their rooms.
Zhou Qi took out his phone and opened the team’s WeChat group, sent a speaker emoji, and started shouting: [Is everyone asleep?]
Soon, responses came in: [Not yet.]
[Brother Qi, you’re back?]
[Is everything okay, Brother Qi?]
A flurry of messages appeared.
Zhou Qi glanced through and saw everyone had replied, indicating none of them was asleep yet.
[Since everyone’s awake, let’s have a meeting downstairs.]
[Huh? A meeting? What kind of meeting?]
[Is there something going on?]
[Something big!]
Zhou Qi responded with two words, already seated at the dining table.
Soon, there was commotion upstairs, and the team members came down; they were all men, not fussing over attire, some in sleepwear, others shirtless.
One even wore Spongebob pajamas with a face mask on.
