It was Li Chen who called to ask, Xiao Rou told him not to inform her parents about this, it’s already over, she doesn’t want them to worry.

Over at the tea shop, Xu Qingqing acted quickly and soon found someone, a nineteen-year-old boy.

The boy’s name is Liu Chaoyang. Despite his young age, he’s very diligent, picking up tasks much faster than Xiao Rou used to, with a baby face and a bright smile, just like his name.

If it weren’t for seeing his ID and being sure he’s an adult, Xiao Rou would almost suspect Xu Qingqing of hiring child labor.

Regarding Liu Chaoyang, Xiao Rou didn’t handle much; it was all Xu Qingqing’s responsibility.

Xiao Rou only clearly felt that with one more person, their opening hours extended, but she felt much more relaxed than before.

After a week, Xu Qingqing discussed the turnover with Xiao Rou. Although a week isn’t enough to strongly indicate anything, the clearly rising turnover somewhat proves the decision to hire was correct.

Saturday morning, Xiao Rou received a call from Mrs. Xiao asking her to come home in the evening.

Xiao Rou hadn’t gone back for two weeks; she was planning to return today anyway.

However, once Xiao Rou got in the car, Mrs. Xiao called to ask her to go straight to the Li Family instead.

“Today is your Uncle Li’s birthday, we are all having dinner at his house tonight, just go directly.”

Xiao Rou furrowed her eyebrows; birthdays happen every year, and she hadn’t seen them celebrate together before, so why suddenly this year?

“My parents haven’t arrived yet?”

“They said they were stuck in traffic, they’ll be here soon, have a seat first.”

Xiao Rou obediently sat on the sofa and handed over the fishing rod: “Uncle, this is my gift for you, happy birthday.”

“You child, your presence is enough, why bring a gift.”

Li Chen’s parents said together, but they were visibly happy.

“Where’s Ah Chen? Why hasn’t he returned from picking up the cake?”

After talking about the gift, Aunt Li mentioned Li Chen. As she spoke, there was a commotion at the door, and then Li Chen walked in with a small cake box.

“Ah Chen is back? Look who’s here.”

Li Chen greeted Xiao Rou and put the cake in the fridge, then walked over.

“Ah Chen, talk to Xiao Xiao, I’ll go with your dad to see if Uncle Xiao and the others are here yet.”

Saying that, the two elders left the room. Xiao Rou and Li Chen exchanged a glance, both a bit helpless.
