Chapter 171: Chapter 156: Choosing Who Is Better for Yourself

After retracting her gaze, Rowan Rhodes prepared to adjust her raft. The viral natural disaster had ended, meaning the cultivation of Eira Grass would soon conclude, transitioning into other vegetables and fruits. The reason she had to run a few more crop cycles was to harvest enough materials for the Antidote.

After all, the pharmacy required five types of medicine, each in quantities of 10,000. Antidote could serve as one of them, so she wanted to stockpile enough of it first. As she calculated this, Rowan had already begun her modifications.

The first task was relocating the Seagull Family’s residence from the fourth floor to the third, placing it right next to the washroom. During the transfer, Rowan also adjusted the layout.

She freed up a significant amount of space from the washroom, reducing it from its original twenty-five square meters to ten. The extra fifteen square meters were added to the Seagull Family’s original twenty-five-square-meter room. This new forty-square-meter space was partitioned into small, separate suites of varying sizes. Given the proportions of the Seagull Family, these small suites were already considered massive rooms for them. Once the layout was finalized, Rowan immediately materialized the changes.

Seabird One and the others didn’t notice much of a difference, as all their belongings were still there! Besides, their activity space spanned the entire raft; the room was merely a place for brief rest.

Void Beast Atticus, on the other hand, was incredibly excited as he looked at his exclusive room, which came equipped with plenty of furniture tailored to his size.

"Is this prepared for me? Is this prepared for me?" Void Beast Atticus repeated twice, unable to conceal the joy in his tone.

"It’s prepared for you," Rowan Rhodes said. "You can stay here for as long as you like."

She wished Void Beast Atticus would stay on her raft forever!

"Human, you’re too kind." Void Beast Atticus looked at Rowan, practically with stars in his eyes.

"You can call me Rowan Rhodes from now on," Rowan said directly. "Shall I just call you Atticus?"

"Sure!" Void Beast Atticus replied readily. In the next moment, he darted straight toward his little suite and began rolling around on the bed, occasionally letting out arrogant, boisterous laughter.

It was obvious that the Void Beast was extremely satisfied. Shortly after, the sound of Void Beast Atticus communicating with Seabird One and the others could be heard.

"This is my room! It’s so wonderful!"

"We have rooms, too."

"Then can I go take a look?"

"You can."

"Wow! You even have fresh flowers in your room! I want some, too."

"Go find the Big Turtle. It can grow lots of beautiful flowers."

"..."

Listening to their chatter, Rowan made her way up to the fourth floor.

The Big Turtle that Seabird One had mentioned was enthusiastically planting Eira Grass. It loved planting more than anything! It genuinely enjoyed the process. Aside from Eira Grass, it could cultivate all sorts of vegetables and fruits, making it feel that its life was incredibly fulfilling. Without the pressure of immediately producing Antidote, the Big Turtle didn’t even want Rowan to intervene, preferring to take its time and handle everything itself.

Seeing Rowan come up, it excitedly called out. "Master, hurry up and build another batch of planting bases," the Big Turtle urged.

"I know," Rowan replied.

Looking at the scene, she couldn’t help but think that the Big Turtle was truly a skilled little worker. It had already tidied up the blooming vines previously planted around the house for convenience and arranged them as a fence around the pasture. Its efficiency was simply too high. Rowan had a feeling that, after a while, the fourth floor’s area might no longer be enough for the Big Turtle to play around with; it would soon need an even larger planting space.

However, Rowan was more than happy to see this happen. After all, she was the one who got to enjoy the fruits of its labor!

With this in mind, Rowan began constructing the racks, making them identical in scale to the existing ones. Once the racks were built, she started filling them with Seed Beds and soil.

Speaking of soil, Rowan didn’t have much left on hand. What she did have was from her early acquisitions. Now, soil was almost nowhere to be seen in the trading hall or the Sea Survival Shop. Even when it did appear, the prices were exorbitantly high. After all, growing vegetables and fruits steadily consumed soil. If Rowan were required to replace all her soil right now, even the most skilled chef couldn’t cook without ingredients—she simply wouldn’t have the materials.

Fortunately, the Big Turtle knew how to make fertilizer, meaning her planting bases didn’t need to consume any extra soil at all. However, the scale of her planting bases would inevitably expand in the future, so she couldn’t go wrong stockpiling more. Additionally, fertilizer could very well become a mainstream commodity in the near future.

Rowan looked at the Big Turtle and asked directly, "Can your fertilizer recipe be produced on a mass scale?" She was indeed entertaining the idea of producing fertilizer in massive quantities.
