Chapter 225: Chapter 225 The Secret Workshop (Adolf Revealed 1)

Later That Night...

?The bedroom was quiet, shrouded in complete darkness.

?Veyra woke up with a sharp start, her lungs pulling in air as if she had been startled awake by a sound. Her eyes snapped open, and her heart began pounding hard against her ribs. She lay still for a moment, staring up into the shadows, entirely unsure of why her nerves were suddenly so frayed.

?She turned her head slowly to look across the bed. The bed beside her was completely empty, and when she reached out a hand, Dorian’s side was cold to the touch probably he did not come home.

?She pushed the soft covers aside and sat up. She looked around the wide, silent room.

?The space was still, the curtains were drawn shut against the windows, and the small nightlight in the corner glowed softly.

?Then she saw it.

?A faint, narrow beam of light was cutting through the quiet room, coming directly from the back of the walk-in closet.

?She swung her bare legs off the edge of the high bed and stood up carefully. She walked across the room toward the closet, her bare feet making absolutely no sound as they sank into the thick carpet.

?The double doors of the closet were slightly open. The strange, warm light was coming from deep inside, leaking out through a thin crack in the back wall.

?She extended her hand, pushed the closet door open a little further, and stepped inside.

?The main dressing area of the closet was dim, but there was a hidden panel on the far back wall that had been shifted out of place. It was slightly ajar, and bright light streamed through the narrow opening.

?She walked toward it with quiet steps, resting her open hand flat against the wooden panel. She gave it a gentle push, and the hidden door slid open smoothly on quiet tracks.

?She stepped through the opening into the hidden room beyond.

?Her breath caught in her throat instantly, stopping her right in her tracks.

?The secret room was small and windowless, hidden completely from the rest of the manor. The surrounding walls were lined from top to bottom with heavy metal shelves, every tier packed with an assortment of specialized tools, precise metal components, dismantled firearms, and high-tech combat gear.

?A large workbench sat right in the center of the concrete floor. A single hanging lamp equipped with a vintage green glass shade hung directly above it which casted clear sharp shadows across the work surface below.

?Scattered across the table were dozens of detailed sketches. There were hand-drawn blueprints of complex firearms, custom combat knives, and specialized tactical equipment, each line rendered with incredible precision and detail.

?Beside the paper drawings lay several half-finished leather items. There were custom-stitched gloves, precision holsters, and heavy utility straps laid out under the lamp.

?In small trays along the back, she noticed collections of rare, exotic materials. She saw rolls of textured lizard skin, panels of polished carbon fiber, and lightweight metal alloys she did not recognize at all.

?She walked slowly toward the center workbench, her heart thumping against her chest as her fingers lightly brushed against the smooth paper sketches, the fine leather, and the cold metal tools.

?She looked up, her gaze scanning the organized walls, the stacked shelves, and the rows of specialized equipment hanging in order.

?Then her eyes caught something hanging near the corner.

?It was a small framed certificate mounted securely onto the wall. She walked closer to it, leaning in under the light to read the elegant lettering printed across the parchment.

?Adolf — Master Equipment Designer, Certified by the Etran Military Academy.

?She froze completely, her eyes locked onto the printed name.

?Adolf.

?The name echoed in her head, familiar and striking. She had heard that name mentioned several times before. She had heard it spoken in awe by Leon, brought up with reverence by high-end collectors, and whispered like a myth among the elite circles of the underworld.

?Adolf was an absolute legend in the industry, a master craftsman whose custom gear was considered legendary. His rare, handmade creations routinely sold at private auctions for tens of millions of dollars, and his true identity was known as one of the most closely guarded secrets in the entire world.

?And Dorian was Adolf.

?She took a slow step backward, her heart pounding furiously against her ribs as her hands began to shake uncontrollably.

?A rush of memories flooded her mind as she thought about the pair of customized leather gloves he had handed to her weeks ago. She remembered the sheer shock on Leon’s face when he had examined them, recalling his exact, breathless words.

?"These gloves are a genuine work by Adolf."

?She had not fully understood the gravity of the gift back then. She had not known what the name really meant, nor had she understood why Leon was so thoroughly stunned by them.

?But sitting here in the quiet glow of this secret workshop, looking at the tools and the certificate on the wall, everything finally clicked into place.
