"Damn it!"

The village chief jumped out of her bed and grabbed her jacket. She quickly looked to her husband and gave instructions.

"Joseph, coordinate with the other officers to secure the usual vantage points."

"On it."

The husband replied, and the duo rushed out of the house.

"Be careful, alright?" Joseph said as he rushed down a different route.

"Village Chief!"

As soon as the man disappeared down the street, someone called out to the village chief, rushing over.

"I know!" The woman bellowed, quickly descending the stairs. "Go to the guest house and get the students to the farms. We’ll need their help."

"Understood."

The young man accepted the command and vanished in a blur. The village chief did not dally and took off as well, her figure a blur. She ran straight for the farms, her anxiety rising.

She hated it whenever the beasts attacked the farms. They brought a lot of losses to them, especially to the livestock they reared.

Although she had welcomed the students with open arms, she still had some doubts, as she was stronger than the kids. The only reason she had acted so warmly was that combat-trained people fought differently.

But the number of raiding beasts was not small either. She feared that those two might not be enough.

The village chief ran past the others who were also rushing to the farms, as their numbers were needed to control the beast population and protect the farm products and livestock.

Cutting through the narrow roads that led to the livestock section of the farms, the village chief heard the sounds of explosions and fighting.

Those who had been on guard duty were already engaged with the beasts, unleashing a rain of bullets and plasma fire at the rampaging animals.

The sound of vicious growls and snarls reached her before she even arrived, as some of the beasts had made it past the first line of defiance.

"Why, those damn beasts!"

The village chief roared, and without hesitation, called upon her water affinity, creating a stream of water that connected both hands over her shoulder.

Whipping her stream of water outward, she cleaved through three Greyfang Jackals that had noticed her presence and charged at her. Blood splattered as she dashed past them.

"Moo!"

"Mehh!"

The livestock were already frightened by the attacks, running around and over their companions. Some had already been gruesomely torn apart, the scent of blood mixing with the manure around.

"Get them under control!"

"Yes!"

The village chief ordered the workers who were less busy fighting, sliding through the horde of beasts that were pushing their way into the livestock pen and cutting them down like they were nothing.

She continued her relentless assault, blurring through the horde as she laid waste to the lot of them.

"Ah!"

Her assault came to a brutal slowdown when a Second Realm Venomfang Cobra slid inside and swiftly lunged at her. The cobra hissed and spat a stream of venom at the village chief, forcing her to jump out of the way.

The venom hissed as it ate into the ground and the beasts that were unfortunate to have been in its path.

"I don’t have time for this!"

The woman bellowed and flashed to the side, dodging another stream of venom. She spun and launched several arcs of water blades at the cobra, drawing blood.

But the creature wouldn’t go down easily. Furious and out for blood, the Venomfang Cobra doubled down on its attacks, locking down the village chief.

’Damn it! Their realms keep on increasing!’

The village chief spent a couple more minutes fighting the cobra at incredible speed around the pen, bringing down several structures before managing to kill it. She looked around, her breath ragged.

The losses were growing, the chaos almost getting out of hand.

Some of the farmers and workers were already injured, a few with life-threatening injuries. They were forced to put distance between themselves and the rampaging beasts. They were not fighters to begin with, making the situation more dire. And guns could only go so far without proper training.

"Where are those two?!"

Rushing out of the pen, she leapt and backflipped onto the roof of the pen, looking around. There was chaos everywhere she looked, the workers and farmers working together to control and cut down the beast numbers.

"Tch!"

The village chief gritted her teeth, charging into the fray once more. This was just a session of the farms. She could only imagine what the other areas were going through.

"Don’t try to be a hero! Pull back when you find yourselves surrounded!"

The village chief warned through the chaotic noise and explosions. There was no reply, but she didn’t care; they already knew that much. She and the other stronger people continued fighting across the farms, their figures blurring as they went wherever there was greater chaos.

"Where the fuck are those two students?!"

Frustration gnawed at the village chief, her eyes darting around. Their losses were piling, the damages eating into their funds in real time.

"Chief!"

Someone called from a distance, drawing the woman’s attention. A group of men and women were coming from the eastern side of the farms, aiding those around them to fight the beasts back.

These people were those who had been fighting the beasts in the parts of the farms that were closer to the mountains. Meeting the one who had called out to her, she asked, her voice loud, "What’s happening?! Are the beasts in that section already cleared?!"

"Haha! Chief, you’re never going to believe it!" The man said in an overly excited tone, his breathing laboured. "Those two... those two..."

"Those two what?" The village chief asked, her heart thumping anxiously.

"Those two are no ordinary students!"

When the man finally completed his statement, something blurred past them, its speed so fast that only a few caught a glimpse. The village chief snapped her head around, following the blurring figure of a wolf that tore through the surrounding beasts like the Grim Reaper.

The wolf was voracious, clawing and biting the other beasts so fast that the creatures could not register how they had lost their lives. The workers and farmers began to slow down as well, drawn to the sight before their eyes.

But that was not even the most impressive bit.

"What the..."

Beasts began dropping like flies out of nowhere, their heads exploding in rapid succession. The village chief turned again, looking in the direction where the SilverIce Wolf had come from.

From a distance, the woman noticed the student with the long hair and green eyes blurring from one structure to the next, cutting down the raiding beasts with his long sword, the deadly arcs leaving a sharp ringing sound in the air.

But the golden-blonde-haired one...

"Is-Is he walking on air...?
