Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?

Chapter 1737 - 1027: Artorias—Prime

Abyss Monsters like these don’t have much power.

An ordinary adventurer can handle one alone, an experienced adventurer can take out several, and an adventurer like Tamima Lu can kill dozens or even hundreds under the right conditions.

However, when the quantity reaches a certain level, it triggers a situation where quantity changes lead to qualitative change.

For example, now, with thousands or possibly more Abyss Monsters rushing at them, forming a black tide that relentlessly engulfs everything in its path.

If you fall in, you’ll be torn apart in minutes, leaving no trace behind.

"Why did so many monsters suddenly appear!"

"How did they find us?"

People have no idea why they have been targeted by these swarming monsters. They neither unleashed any sound-and-light-effect-exploding Big Move nor ventured deep into the city, seemingly doing nothing to provoke this group of monsters.

Since things have come to this, they can only leave it to fate.

"Run!"

Everyone desperately fled, their goal being to leave Urasil City through the gate they entered earlier.

Unfortunately, calamities tend to happen all at once. Just a few steps towards the city gate, they heard the roar of Abyss Monsters coming from there, accompanied by footsteps that made the ground tremble. Damn it, even the city gate had been taken over by monsters.

Are they like bamboo shoots sprouting in the spring rain, suddenly popping up like this!?

With things as they are, they can only find another way, Maru looked around and immediately said, "Let’s get to the rooftops."

The houses in Urasil aren’t particularly tall. Peter Parker wouldn’t be able to swing his web freely here, but for adventurers, this height is just right, allowing them to parkour on the rooftops at will and attack the monsters below. It’s an ideal map.

Everyone leaped onto the rooftops almost simultaneously, Maru landing first, with a light touch on the tiles to stabilize her stance, followed closely by Tami and other team members.

They barely had time to catch their breath when the Abyss Monsters had already surged to the nearby buildings. The black tide crashed against the houses, splashing into countless clawed "water sprays" reaching upward, scratching the stone walls with a sharp grinding sound, more piercing than the roaring.

"They’re climbing the walls!"

The magician pointed to the edge of the eaves and shouted, casually tossing a Fireball, but the monsters knocked down were still less than those climbing up.

The first Abyss Monsters had already begun wall-climbing. Their claws dug into the stone walls, bodies sticking to the surface, squirming upwards rapidly, almost as fast as on the ground, piling up, further increasing their climbing speed.

Without hesitation, Tami pulled out a scroll from his waist pouch, tearing and tossing it over, a Flame Storm erupted between the rooftops, a pillar of crimson flame rising from the ground, engulfing the black tide pouring down the alleyway, the flames bringing forth the Abyss Monsters’ hoarse screams.

This scroll was personally inscribed by Luluwo, naturally, its power cannot be measured against mass-produced goods. The Flame Storm instantly collapsed a human bridge piled up by Abyss Monsters.

But the Abyss Monsters behind didn’t pause at all, stepping on the burning corpses of their comrades, continuing to surge forward.

"This number is way off." Tami frowned, he’d seen monster gatherings but never this densely packed, this is definitely another peak creation in the history of monster gathering at Sain Dungeon! Those black figures squeezed through the narrow alleys like sardines in a can, one stepping on another, layer upon layer, the ones at the bottom smashed into pulp, those on top still climbing forward regardless.

Gong Qiying definitely got inspiration from World War Z.

"Run, we can only fight and run at the same time, no other choice!"

Even in the face of such a scene, Tami felt that they still had a chance to win, the so-called victory might not need total annihilation of the enemy, just meeting certain conditions can suffice, this is the experience gained from years adventuring in Sain Dungeon.

Everyone began running on the rooftops, Urasil’s houses are tightly packed, the intervals between rooftops only a leap away, perfect for their speed, countless Abyss Monsters’ claws reaching for the skies, almost like a concert crowd.

After running for dozens of meters, Maru suddenly stopped at a higher rooftop, turned around, pulled a scroll from her waist pouch, and tossed it out, a massive Crystal Wall rose abruptly from the ground like a mountain, blocking the main road thoroughly from the monsters.

Very unfortunately, these monsters know how to detour, and Urasil is never lacking in various alleys and small paths. They climbed up from the side of the houses, snuck through the alleys, went around from adjacent rooftops, practically like Spiderman.

"Looking this dumb, don’t be so smart please."

Maru muttered under her breath, turned around to continue running; during the interval between leaping and weaving through houses, everyone kept casting various wide-range damage spells downwards, Flame Storm exploded at the monster’s densest spots, Sweeping Flames whipped across the narrow alleyways like a lash, clearing a whole area of wall-climbing Abyss Monsters with each strike, Tami’s Thunder Spear blasted open amidst the monster crowd, lightning scattered across the damp cobbled ground, electrocuting the monsters throughout an entire alleyway into stiffness.
