Chapter 1287: Ultimate Magician

Intruder Alarm - Yellow Alert!

Fake Luna: "Forcing a change of attack target again!?"

The thought that crossed her mind at that moment was: In this Duel, can I even decide who I want to attack anymore? Can I even play properly?

"Special Summon 'Chocolate Magician Girl' from the hand!"

[Chocolate Magician Girl, ATK 1600]

"With this, Power Tool's attack target becomes Chocolate," Kira smiled.

Fake Leo snorted: "Chocolate it is, then. Power Tool, crush that Magician Girl for me!"

"That won't do," Kira smiled. "Chocolate Magician Girl's effect: When it becomes the target of an opponent's attack, Special Summon 1 Magician Girl from your Graveyard. Afterward, the opponent's attack target is changed to that new Magician Girl, and the attacking monster's ATK is halved!"

Fake Leo: "!!!"

Again!? Transferring the attack, then transferring it again—is there no end!?

Kira: "Special Summon 'Kiwi Magician Girl' from the Graveyard!"

[Kiwi Magician Girl, ATK 1800]

"And Power Tool's ATK is halved!"

"Aaaah, so annoying! One transfer after another…" Fake Leo raged.

"I won't let you keep acting so arrogant! Power Tool, strike back!"

[Power Tool Mecha Dragon, ATK 2300]

"Oh?" Kira raised an eyebrow. It could do that? Could it ignore the ATK halving effect just by shouting loudly enough?

But Kira realized the next moment: "The effect of the Finale Fairy Tale Field?"

"Correct!" Fake Leo said. "Moon of Oblivion's field effect: When a Defense Position monster is changed to Attack Position, its ATK is doubled!"

Power Tool had been changed to Attack Position this turn, so its ATK had originally been boosted to 4600, then halved by Chocolate Girl, leaving it at 2300 now.

After a series of attack and defense exchanges, continuous target changes, doubling, and halving, Power Tool finally regained the upper hand. It overtook once more and shattered the magic wave fired by Kiwi, counter-killing her.

[Kira, LP 4000 → LP 3500]

"I don't care what happens to me! Even if I break, even if I'm smashed to pieces, it's fine," Fake Leo said firmly. "But I will never allow anyone to touch Luna!"

Behind him, Fake Luna's gloomy face showed a slight wavering. "Leo…"

"It's not over yet. Next, Ancient Fairy Dragon attacks 'Chocolate Magician Girl'!" Leo declared. "That Magician Girl's attack target transfer effect can only be used once per turn, right?"

What he said was correct. Chocolate Magician Girl had already used her attack target transfer effect once and could not use it again. Therefore, she could only be directly destroyed by Ancient Fairy.

[Kira, LP 3500 → LP 3000]

At the end of the turn, the overpowered Power Tool Mecha Dragon self-destructed, exploding into fragments.

Clap clap clap clap—

Kira applauded.

This sudden reaction left even Fake Leo stunned: "W-what are you doing?"

"Nothing. I was just moved by your firm sibling bond. Even though I know you're copies, it's still touching."

Upon hearing this, Fake Leo grew angry again: "You still dare to say such things…"

"Well, don't get mad. I'm just telling the truth, just like the principle I'm about to tell you," Kira shook his head. "The world often doesn't move according to people's will. No matter how firm your will or how strong your desire to protect, without corresponding strength, it will always remain empty talk."

Fake Leo raged: "Who are you calling lacking in strength—"

But Kira didn't give him a chance to continue speaking and interrupted directly: "My turn. Draw."

He slowly drew a card from his hand. "It's about time. Let's end it here—"

"—Activate Spell Card 'Magicalized Fusion'! Banish monsters from your field and Graveyard as Fusion Materials to Fusion Summon a Spellcaster-Type monster. I banish five Magician Girls—Berry, Lemon, Apple, Chocolate, and Kiwi—from my field and Graveyard to perform the ultimate Magician Fusion!"

The twins were both greatly shocked: "Fusion of five Magician Girls?"

Five shining void rifts suddenly split open in the sky above. Each rift spun a three-meter-diameter magic circle. These circles interlocked like planetary rings, each burning with five-colored magic flames. The moment the fifth circle locked into position, all runes rotated in reverse. A surging energy torrent tore open a dimensional fissure at the center.

"When the five star rings converge, the Staff of Truth pierces dimensions, and the supreme law governing all phenomena manifests here! Descend—"

"—Quintet Magician!"

The hem of a black robe first pierced through the void, fluttering sharply in the fierce wind. Quintet Magician's golden hair cascaded down like sunlight. The instant it appeared, the five magic circles contracted into light crowns floating behind it, rotating like planetary rings.

[Quintet Magician, ATK 4500]

"The moment Quintet Magician is successfully Fusion Summoned using five different Spellcaster-Type monsters, destroy all cards on the opponent's field!"

Leo & Luna: "Nani!?"

Quintet Magician heavily planted its staff on the ground. The five star-ring magic circles suddenly collapsed into black-hole-like singularities. It clenched its left hand, gathering five elemental magics in its palm, as if the laws of destruction swept forth.

The space around the twins' field began to distort like paper crumpled by an invisible hand. Ancient Fairy Dragon, Power Tool, and the entire Fairy Tale Field started showing web-like cracks. The field collapsed first—the entire fairy-tale painting curled and carbonized like a parchment scroll licked by flames. Next, Mecha Dragon emitted the crisp sound of shattering crystal and decomposed into colored light particles from its limbs. Ancient Fairy Dragon began to sandify, turning into drifting smoke and clouds under the magic storm.

When the last card also turned into light dust and vanished, the remaining light crowns behind Quintet Magician's head suddenly contracted. All scattered energy was reabsorbed into the crystal at the top of its staff. The battlefield returned to silence, with only the lingering magic embers on the hem of its robe flickering like sparks.

Fake Leo stared blankly at the field that had turned into complete ruins in the blink of an eye. He opened his mouth, but his expression was bitter, and no words came out.

"Quintet Magician," Kira said calmly. "Direct attack."

Quintet Magician's golden pupils suddenly contracted. The five magic circles floating in the air began spinning at high speed around the staff as axis. The five-colored rings trailed comet-like light as they rotated, ultimately converging in front of the staff tip into a brilliant iridescent star vortex.

The moment the staff swung downward, all the rings contracted and collapsed together, condensing into a golden torrent entwined with spiral patterns. The air along the light's path shattered like glass.

After staring dazed for a moment, at the final instant, Fake Leo turned around, hugged Luna in his arms, and turned his back to the world-destroying five-ring radiance, as if intending to use his own body as a shield.

Boom—

[Leo × Luna, LP 3200 → LP 0]
