Why is This Troublemaker So Damn Rich?
Chapter 158: Liu Shasha Wants to Play a Female Subordinate
"Oh, I'm jealous. President Shan never drinks my tea."
Failing to detect Yang Hui's sarcasm, Li Lei chuckled. "He's the boss, after all. Besides, what kind of good tea could you possibly have? I have plenty here that clients brought over, some worth over a thousand yuan a pound. Next time you have a chance to go out with President Shan, come to my place and have a taste."
He sneered. "No, thanks. I can't get used to tea that only costs a thousand a pound."
Li Lei laughed. "That's a strange thing to say. After drinking regular tea for so long, good tea should only taste better. How could you not be used to it?"
Yang Hui hated talking to idiots more than anything—it was such a waste of time. He waved a dismissive hand. "Let's go, Zhu Jing. We're getting something to eat."
With that, he turned and walked away. Li Lei was still talking to Zhu Jing. "Your boss is so strange. He can't even get used to good tea."
Zhu Jing gave a faint smile. "Our boss drinks tea that costs tens of thousands a pound. It's the cheaper stuff he can't get used to. We're off, Manager Li. Goodbye."
Li Lei watched their retreating figures and shook his head.
'Ah, Zhu Jing. Still so naive. How could a regular office worker possibly afford tea that costs tens of thousands a pound? He's just showing off to fool a simple little girl like her.'
The thought of Zhu Jing being deceived by Yang Hui conjured an image of her pinned beneath him, and a wave of heat washed over his body.
'A damn operations manager… Just you wait. I'll find a way to make your life difficult.'
The thought had barely formed when his phone rang. He broke into a wide grin at the caller ID. Talk about a godsend.
"President Shan!"
The call was from Dan Biao himself, asking if Li Lei had time to come over and chat for a bit to further discuss some potential collaborations.
On any other day, Li Lei might have had to think about it, but this time, he replied without hesitation, "I'm free. Come over anytime."
'Yang Hui, is it? We'll see how I make trouble for you. Let's give you a taste of what it's like when the boss decides to make your life hell. A guy like you, messing around with women at work... Who do you think you are?'
Inside the Sichuan restaurant, Yang Hui casually ordered several dishes. Zhu Jing, sitting beside him, kept trying to reason with him. "Boss, let's just get something simple. It's only the two of us; we shouldn't be wasteful."
In the past, whenever Yang Hui took the team out to eat, she and the other girls would secretly wonder how much their boss earned a month and if he could really afford to treat them so often. She had found out today that he had his own company, but business wasn't easy nowadays, and that meant even more expenses. She just wanted him to be a little more frugal.
"Don't worry about it. When we eat, we should eat well. This little bit of money is nothing to me, and soon, it'll be nothing to you either."
He was implying that when Zhu Jing came to work for him, her salary would be substantial. Once she joined Yanghe Commerce, he definitely wouldn't have her start at a P7 grade. He'd give her a P10 at the very least—a supervisor-level position. That came with a base salary of 18,000 a month. With an income like that, she would no longer feel any stress about eating out.
He wasn't going to tell Zhu Jing all this yet. Besides, she couldn't leave until he had officially left Airex himself. Otherwise, Futong Commerce would be without its most capable hand, and he would have to do all the work himself. That was not what he wanted.
He had been observing them for two weeks. On the whole team, only Zhu Jing had a strong sense of responsibility and ambition; the others preferred to slack off. So, when he eventually left Airex, he would most likely only take Zhu Jing with him. As for the rest, he'd leave it up to fate. If their attitudes toward work didn't change, they wouldn't be able to adapt to the corporate culture at Yanghe Commerce.
Zhu Jing pressed her lips together and said nothing. This was hardly the first time her boss had proven he didn't know the meaning of frugality.
"Boss, when Shen Meng left the company, did she go to your company?"
Everyone had been puzzled by Shen Meng's resignation. She and Yang Hui had been practically inseparable at work, and it was obvious to everyone that they were dating. Why had she suddenly quit? It's not like the company had reprimanded them for their relationship.
At the time, they had all guessed that Shen Meng was being proactive, resigning to protect Yang Hui from any potential punishment from the company. They even said she was worrying over nothing. Considering all the positive changes Yang Hui had brought since he'd arrived, what kind of boss would be foolish enough to punish him? You'd have to have a screw loose.
But hearing today that he had his own company, it all clicked for Zhu Jing. 'So Shen Meng left to help her man with his business.' The thought made her face flush red again.
'Shen Meng went to help her man… If he's asking me to go too, does that mean I'd also be… helping *my* man?'
She stole a glance at Yang Hui, but he was busy scrolling through his phone and hadn't noticed her, so she allowed herself to stare for a few more moments.
'Sigh… The boss is so handsome, and a good person on top of that. The retail industry is just full of young women. For a guy like him, this business is a goldmine for romance.'
Just then, Yang Hui seemed to finish reading his messages. He looked up and replied, "She is. She's at the store stocking inventory right now."
Shen Meng had just sent him a few videos of the new store. Because they had strictly controlled the quality of the renovations and the store's floor plan was excellent, the results were amazing. Compared to it, the store at Wanlong Square looked like a cheap imitation.
The young women in the store were working with incredible efficiency, as if they were on stimulants. Joy was written all over their faces. It looked like Yang Na had gone over the compensation packages and promotion tracks with them today. The energy in the video was electric.
Yang Hui handed his phone to Zhu Jing. "Take a look. Look at the morale of our sales staff."
Zhu Jing took the phone, played the video, and nodded as she watched. "Boss, I've never seen team morale this high before. I always thought the team I manage had a strong fighting spirit, but we're nothing compared to these women. There's a fire in their eyes. They're all self-motivated; not a single one of them is slacking."
He smiled to himself. 'Of course they were motivated.' He was paying them high salaries, freeing them from financial worries, and offering them a clear and attainable future. They'd have to be fools not to work hard. Besides, the company's management was so strict that slackers and schemers wouldn't last a day. They had to give it their all just to protect this guaranteed income.
Just then, a new message popped up on Yang Hui's phone:
[Liu Shasha: Yang Dingtian, my period's almost over. I've already bought the female subordinate's outfit, and I even did some special research on the professional terminology for a supervisor in your industry. 😉]
At first, Zhu Jing didn't understand the message. But the phrase "my period's almost over" quickly clued her in to the other person's intentions. She remembered the last company meeting when Yang Hui's computer screen had been projected for everyone to see. It seemed to be this same Liu Shasha who had asked him what kind of uniform he wanted.
'The boss is into such kinky stuff… role-playing? But why would he play the female subordinate? And that Liu Shasha said she'd be the supervisor? Oh, my… the boss is so naughty.'
