Why is This Troublemaker So Damn Rich?
Chapter 345: New Destination (Part 3)
‘1.3 million… That’s 1.3 million! With this much in group-buy resources and the allocation authority in Airex’s management department, won’t all of you have to come suck up to me in the future?
And that Ji Kun… so disobedient, huh? I won’t give you a single penny’s worth of sales credit.’
At this thought, he seemed to see Ji Kun coming to beg for mercy with a tearful face, and then a young woman like Han Ya coming to suck up to him, pledging her loyalty. The fantasy made him smile.
Zhu Jing caught sight of him out of the corner of her eye and was thoroughly disgusted. She felt so uncomfortable that she couldn’t even focus on her work. She decided to finish the allocations quickly and get out of there. She truly couldn’t imagine how they were all going to survive working with Yang Wei in the future.
But Yang Wei clearly wasn’t going to let her be. The “1.3 million” had turned into countless money signs swirling in his mind, and he could no longer think about anything else.
“Zhu Jing, are you the one handling the allocation of the team’s group-buy sales?”
“Yes.”
Yang Wei couldn’t believe how stupid Yang Hui was. ‘What a great resource! What a perfect opportunity to control his subordinates! And he just tossed it to Zhu Jing. He really doesn’t know the first thing about management. Stupid. Unbelievably stupid.’
“Uh, Zhu Jing, don’t allocate anything just yet. Hand over the group-buy sales. I’ll handle the allocation.”
He was so desperate for the resources that he’d thrown all caution to the wind, completely shameless.
Zhu Jing didn’t know what he was thinking, or where he got the nerve. Already annoyed with him, she stopped what she was doing and said mockingly, “Manager Yang, you don’t become the manager of the Airex brand until July 1st. It’s still June. Manager Yang Hui is the one in charge of this team.”
She was, after all, a pretty girl, and this was probably the harshest thing she was capable of saying. But it was enough to shatter Yang Wei’s composure. During his interviews, both HR and Dan Biao had praised him to the skies and expressed their high hopes for him. Besides, new hires were supposed to have a honeymoon period, a time when company leadership would give them their full support. He never expected that the employees on this team, one after another, would be so uncooperative.
‘I can’t stop you from resigning, Zhu Jing, but the company must have the right to allocate this team’s resources. You want to bring up Yang Hui? Fine. Then I’ll go get President Shan. Let’s see which one of you dares to disobey his orders.’
He knew that once Zhu Jing finished the allocation, she would have the stores enter the data into the system tonight. He didn’t have much time. He hurriedly got up and went to find Dan Biao.
Meanwhile, Dan Biao was also feeling gloomy. NLB’s sales performance was in continuous decline, and Li Yang was practically tearing into him and Zhang Li three times a day. Today, for whatever reason, Li Yang had flown into a rage and summoned him to his office for over an hour of humiliation.
It was true. Current data showed that, apart from Airex leaving everyone else in the dust, all other brands were seeing declines to varying degrees. The worst was Zhang Li’s team, which suffered not only from falling sales but also the highest employee turnover—another point Li Yang had berated him for today. The store on the first floor of the Yida Department Store on Qingzhou Pedestrian Street was a top priority that could not be allowed to fail. Li Yang had demanded that he select the most talented people from Zhang Li’s team to send there, and even gave a benchmark: they couldn’t be any worse than the employees from Yanghe Commerce.
This was an impossible mission. Zhang Li’s team had no promising talent left. A batch had already been cherry-picked for the NLB brand, and over the past month, more than half of the remaining staff had left. Those who hadn’t gone were either temporarily unable to find a new job or were just sticking around because it was close to home and they wanted the social security benefits. These people clearly didn’t meet the staffing requirements for the Qingzhou Pedestrian Street store.
What was worse, July was just around the corner, which meant payday. When the penalties from Li Yang’s performance bet were enforced, it was estimated that the entire NLB staff would quit. This matter had Zhang Li so worried that he hadn’t been sleeping for nights on end, and his hair had thinned considerably.
For Dan Biao, there was another crisis: Airex. He knew full well how this brand, once the company’s biggest headache, had been turned around. Without Yang Hui, there would be no Airex of today. And once Yang Hui left next month, the brand would, in all likelihood, revert to its former disastrous state.
He had no real hopes for Yang Wei. He knew why he’d been brought in: Li Yang simply couldn’t stand Yang Hui anymore and needed someone to fill the position. Yang Wei was merely a product of this situation. As for ability, Dan Biao really couldn’t see any.
‘So frustrating. So damn frustrating! Yang Hui… Boss Yang, why haven’t you offered to take me with you? Ah…’
KNOCK KNOCK—
The sound of knocking interrupted his thoughts. The door then opened to reveal Yang Wei, a broad smile on his face. For some reason, Dan Biao felt that Yang Wei’s smile just made you want to punch him.
“President Shan, you’re looking well today.”
Dan Biao forced a smile. He had no idea how this blockhead thought he looked well. ‘I feel like I’m going through menopause,’ he thought.
“Yang Wei. What can I do for you?”
Yang Wei sat down in the chair across from Dan Biao. “President Shan, I’d like to discuss my views on the situation with Airex.”
Since he was in charge of the brand, Dan Biao was pleased that he was proactively discussing his understanding of the team and his future plans. Dan Biao put down what he was doing, picked up his cup to take a drink, and gestured for Yang Wei to continue.
“President Shan, Airex’s year-on-year and month-on-month growth are already number one among all the company’s brands this month, and we’re far ahead of second place. So, there isn’t much pressure for this month. It would be best to push some of the resources to next month.”
