Chapter 402: Chapter 276: Power of Void (Part 2)

"Skeleton Mountain... Head south."

Back on the ground, Han Ning pointed south and sent a Spiritual Fluctuation to his two Soul Beasts: ’Go that way.’

"Yiyii~"

Just then, Fei Lin patted the Star Dream Unicorn’s back and waved to Han Ning. He understood instantly, a faint smile appearing on his face. "You want me to sit on the Star Dream Unicorn’s back, and you’ll take me there?"

"Yiyi!"

Fei Lin nodded vigorously and shuffled over, clearing a space in front of her large enough to accommodate Han Ning’s Spiritual Body.

"Alright then, don’t mind if I do."

Considering that flying as a Spiritual Body would constantly consume his Spiritual Power, he didn’t refuse Fei Lin’s invitation this time.

He maneuvered his Spiritual Body to float onto the Star Dream Unicorn’s back, bent down slightly, and wrapped his arms around its Body.

The next second, a slightly cool Body pressed gently against him, and a pair of hands wrapped around Han Ning’s waist, holding him tightly in an embrace.

At the same time, Yin Yi transformed into a small sapling, floated down onto his shoulder, and vigilantly scanned the surroundings with a pair of eyes that burned with a fiery light.

"Yiyii~" Fei Lin let out a happy cry. The Star Dream Unicorn beneath her also snorted in excitement, pushed off with its four hooves, and galloped wildly in the direction Han Ning had pointed.

Soon, rows of ghastly white bones were left behind them.

A faint chill traveled through his Spiritual Body and into his Spiritual World.

Han Ning reached a hand behind him, rubbed Fei Lin’s illusory head, and said with a smile, "I’ll be counting on you two to protect me from now on."

"Yiyi!"

Fei Lin patted her chest with her small hands, guaranteeing his absolute safety.

It was as if to say, ’I’m super strong now!’

The Star Dream Unicorn was a Soul Beast at the War General Limit, and it was incredibly fast.

Han Ning sat on its back, and in less than three hours, the light in the sky gradually dimmed.

The light vanished as day gave way to night.

In the void, the concentration of free-floating Dark Energy and relatively complex negative emotions suddenly surged. With every stride, the Star Dream Unicorn attracted large amounts of the nearby energy. It formed a dreamlike, shimmering purple ribbon that trailed far behind them in the night.

Bathed in the Dark Energy, the Star Dream Unicorn became significantly faster.

It glanced down at the terrain, briefly got its bearings, and then galloped southward.

At night, the Star Dream Unicorn was like a spirit of the darkness.

Han Ning saw its steps become faster and faster until its four legs were moving so fast they became a blur.

Visible wisps of dark purple light converged between its four hooves. The Star Dream Unicorn began to tread on tangible Dark Energy, rising up to gallop through the inky black sky.

Shimmering with a mysterious purple glow, it looked like a rare and wondrous beast from mythology, incredibly majestic.

But faced with the various gales of the Netherworld, the Dark Energy, and the negative emotions, the Starlight around Han Ning’s Body faded at a significantly faster rate.

It was like dry ice placed under the scorching sun, constantly sublimating into wisps of pearly white Flowing Light when struck by the sunlight.

Fei Lin was very considerate. She clearly knew that Han Ning’s Spiritual Body and Sister Yin Yi’s Body were not compatible with the Netherworld’s environment, so she specially generated a layer of hazy purple mist around the Star Dream Unicorn that moved with them, blocking the buffeting of the Energy Wind.

Dark and Undead Attribute Soul Beasts could not only unleash Dark Type Soul Techniques but also absorb Energy of the same attributes.

In this magical Netherworld, they were like the favored children of this world, like dragons swimming in the sea, utterly free and at ease.

Undulating mounds of bone swept past below them.

After an unknown amount of time, the Star Dream Unicorn flew through the sky above the endless, rolling hills of bone, arriving in a deep, mist-shrouded valley.

Through the dense mist, they could faintly sense a lake nestled within, reflecting a soft, faint glow.

A narrow waterfall cascaded from the mountaintop into the lake below, splashing up droplets of water that shone like jade and silver.

In the center of the lake stood a palace-like structure, its entirety forged from bone, with a somewhat crude design.

A few scattered, illusory creatures flickered in and out of sight on the lake’s surface, breathing in and out the omnipresent white mist.

This was also the first time Han Ning had seen other moving things in the Netherworld.

’Life? No, they can’t be called living. They’re just Residual Souls acting on instinct, barely ’surviving’ on the Energy of the Netherworld.’

The Star Dream Unicorn manipulated the Dark Energy, and a peculiar fluctuation suddenly emanated from its body.

Instantly, a portion of the mist shrouding the area below was dispelled, revealing the scene below with perfect clarity.

"This is..." Han Ning’s spirit wavered slightly.

Beneath them was a calm body of water covered with enormous clamshells.

The bones they had seen before were actually individual, milky-white clamshells.

These clamshells were milky white with a jade-like luster. Many of them were slightly open, and wisps of white mist seeped out from the gaps, floating up into the sky.

’Are those Wraith Mirage Spirits?’

The Wraith Mirage Spirit was a type of Soul Beast with only E Level Talent.

Han Ning recalled a legend about the Wraith Mirage Spirit: wherever Mirage Spirits appeared, a Death Elf Dragon was sure to be found!

The fluctuation emitted by the Star Dream Unicorn disturbed the rest of the giant clams below.

A strange sound came from the distance, like the cry of a deer mixed with the wail of a baby.

Immediately after, Han Ning faintly heard the sound of a surging tide.

RUMBLE~

In a flash, a pillar of grayish-white mist tens of meters in diameter appeared before Han Ning, surging toward them menacingly.

"NEIGH~"

The Star Dream Unicorn’s form blurred as it carried the two "people," Han Ning and Fei Lin, soaring upward and easily dodging the pillar of mist with a few short warps.

At the same time, a long, slender serpent, its entire body covered in white scales and its form illusory and indistinct, rode the clouds and mist in hot pursuit.

HISS!!

The great serpent, its eyes ringed with red light, let out a threatening hiss at the Star Dream Unicorn.

"NEIGH!"

The Star Dream Unicorn cried out. Han Ning couldn’t understand it, but he could feel its palpable disdain through his Spiritual Power.

Its skeletal, drafty-looking mouth opened slightly.

Thin streams of dark purple light gathered from all directions.

In an instant, a spinning ball of dark purple light appeared in its mouth and was immediately shot out.

Meanwhile, Fei Lin, who was on its back, gave a delicate, cold snort. She stretched out a pale arm, reached back to grip the hilt of a sword formed from her Biological Armor, and at the same time, swung it lightly down toward the Fog Snake.

Thread-like mist surged from the sword’s tip, forming a thick, long ribbon of purple mist that, with incredible speed, enveloped the Fog Snake.

The white Fog Snake was like a fly caught in glue. Bound by the mist’s formless power, it struggled and twisted its body but was unable to escape the mist’s range.

The ball of black light followed close behind, tearing through the mist-filled air and crashing down with a BOOM.

BOOM!!

The menacing white serpent let out an agonized wail and fell toward the water’s surface at an even faster speed. Soon after, the water began to churn violently, and a thick layer of white mist slowly spread across it.

"Fei Lin, go retrieve its Body. I’ve heard that a Fog Snake’s Spiritual Core is excellent bait for attracting a Death Shadow. What an effortless prize."

"Yiyii~"

Hearing this, Fei Lin did a light flip and leaped gracefully from the Star Dream Unicorn’s back. The longsword in her hand quickly transformed into two shorter daggers. Dense black sinews wrapped around her delicate frame, forming a suit of jet-black Light Armor as she shot into the hazy mist.

Before long, intense waves of Energy fluctuations emanated from the lake below.

"Iyaa!"

Along with Fei Lin’s sharp cry, a curved arc of dark sword light, over a hundred meters long, abruptly flashed across the turbulent lake’s surface, splitting the water in two and sending up massive columns of water.
